Mike Huckabees wife: Women are really on fire for Todd Akin By David Edwards Wednesday, October 17, 2012 14:40 EDT Print Mike and Janet Huckabee Topics: mike huckabee ♦ Todd Akin
The wife of Fox News host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) says that women are really on fire for the Missouri Republican Senate candidate who said that sexual assault victims could not get pregnant through legitimate rape.
During a radio interview with Janet Mefferd, whose show is sponsored by Rep. Todd Akins Senate campaign, Janet Huckabee explained that women want Todd Akin to be their Senator.
I think women are really on fire for Todd Akin, Janet Huckabee said. Theyre out there, theyre praying for him, theyre lifting him up in prayer, theyre giving financially.
To me its exciting, they always want to say, Do you want to talk to the man in charge or the woman who knows? she continued. Women know what they want and right now I think they want Todd Akin to be their Senator.
Oh I agree, it is so exciting, Mefferd insisted. As I said, you can go to JanetMefferd.com, click on that box that says, Support Todd Akin, Help Take Back the Senate and get involved today.
Following the fallout from Akins legitimate rape comments in August, Mike Huckabee seemed to be one of the few friends the candidate had left, repeatedly giving him airtime to try and save his campaign.
The Partys leaders have for reasons that arent rational, left him behind on the political battlefield, wounded and bleeding, Mike Huckabee wrote in an email to supporters. In a Party that supposedly stands for life, it was tragic to see the carefully orchestrated and systematic attack on a fellow Republican.
I consider Todd a friend. So I will join Todd as often as I can, in his fight for our Partys pro-life policies, traditional marriage and our efforts to rein in the massive expansion of government under President Obama.
