The family of murdered St. Edwards University freshman Virginia Garcia have filed suit against the city of Austin, claiming Austin's status as a so called 'sanctuary city' led to Garcia's murder, 1200 WOAI news reported today. The 18 year old Garcia, who was known as Jenny, was stabbed to death insider her northwest Austin home, and police arrested an illegal alien, David Diaz Morales, 20, whom they said was 'infatuated' with Garcia. Morales was also charged with burglarizing Garcia's home. Attorney Matt Burns said Austin's very controversial policy of prohibiting police and other local officials from referring cases to federal authorities for immigration law violations and deportation led to Garcia's murder, and is also in violation of federal law. "The Austin police department has both informal and written procedures which actually prohibit police officers from cooperating with federal immigration authorities," Burns said. Burns said the fact that Morales re-entered the United States after being deported, and the fact that he had previously been charged in the sexual assault of a child, would have qualified him for immediate deportation, meaning that he would not have been in Austin to murder Jenny Garcia, but that didn't happen because of Austin's 'sanctuary' law. "He had been deported from this country once and re-entered, which is a felony offense," Burns said. "And prior to the murder of Ms. Garcia, Mr. Morales had also been arrested in the alleged sexual assault of a 12 year old." Morales is held in the Travis County jail without bond on a capital murder charge. There are more than a dozen so called 'sanctuary cities' across the United States, from Portland Oregon to Chicago to Houston. The Sanctuary City policy generally forbids local law enforcement officers from checking on, or reporting, a person's immigration status. Austin passed its sanctuary city law in 1997. Supporters say it fosters 'trust' between officials and immigrants, and say they're afraid that without such protections, illegals would be unwilling to report crimes and would become easy prey for criminals. But Burns says Sanctuary City laws violate federal statute. "Cities, counties, local governments are forbidden from prohibiting, or in any way restricting, their employees from communicating with federal immigration authorities," Burns said. "The city of Austin's policies are clearly in violation of that." Congress has repeatedly rejected proposals to deny certain types of federal funding to Sanctuary Cities in an effort to get them to rethink their law.

There should be NO sanctuary cities for illegal aliens PERIOD. Why??? Because if there are sanctuary cities, then these places will become 3rd world toilets in a matter of years. What needs to happen, is that our government should repatriate every goddamned illegal alien back to their home country immediately. The reason why they don't, is because illegal aliens who are working jobs that require a social security number, are usually using fake numbers, and then that money never needs to be paid to the illegals who pay in. This is free money for the government. Then, there's the whole angle that these people for some reason will do the jobs that Americans won't do, which is fucking bullshit. Americans will gladly do those jobs. But then again, who wants to work a dead end minimum wage job, and try to support a family on it? There is a major sickness in our government, and it is eroding what national sovereignty we have left. It is being done by design, because the Baby Boomers have created a situation where they are going to bankrupt America because of the demand they will put on the system. What better way to cover their asses, and to make sure they never have to be responsible for the destruction of our economy, and sovereignty, than by creating a situation as to where our nation will HAVE to be merged with Canada, and Mexico, in order to stay solvent. This would mean a centralized government from Mexico, to Canada, where every citizen in that region would be assigned a certain amount of debt. That's right folks. It would also create a new class of low wage earners who would be short shrifted on a future of property ownership, as well as creating a country where the indigenous population would watch as their standard of living were decimated in order to balance things out between the richer and poorer countries. Prepare to watch as America is drug down because of the Baby Boomer Generation.

This is so true! I work with illegals at my job and the company is putting a few of the employees on temp. layoff for 3 weeks the month of December (including me). The illegals who are being put on that temp. layoff are pitching a fit because they say they cannot recieve unemployment benefits while we are out of work. I guess they are afraid the fake SS#'s they used on their applications may just get them caught.It surprises me that the illegals do not care to openly discuss this with our supervisors and anyone else who will listen to the one translating for them. Illegal immigrants are no longer afraid to say they are illegal because they know their employers will not call BP! The companies around here know when they hire the illegals that those #'s are no good and they do not care. So, our government MUST BE making money off of the illegals because if the illegal cannot file for unemployment benefits,SS benefits, etc.(for fear of being deported), where else would that tax money go? Damn, the picture gets more and more clear! I wonder if someone in Washington is pocketing those taxes paid by illegals for themselves, hmmm...............yep, I think so!

We lost nearly 3000 citizens on September 11, 2001. We have lost slightly over 2000 soldiers overseas since September 11, 2001. When you consider the number of Americans killed by illegals aliens (auto accidents, murder, and so forth) since September 11, 2001; I have to ask: where the hell is the outrage?
