I sent a personal check Friday and Au was delivered today; what amazing service.

I suspect that the stock market is dipping today because all those Republican donors, who thought they'd get payback for their millions in campaign contributions, realized that money was never coming back and they had to unload some more shares just to have ready cash.

Would you care to speculate why gold is going up the day after the the biggest spender of all time was elected for a second term?

Why, everyone knows inflation keeps prices low, adds interest to our savings and puts chickens in all our pots ;)(sarcasm)

Thank-you Rabbi. I'm presently accepting massive lead deliveries but once that's complete I will begin with gold and silver accumulation.

Shouldn't we be planning our decennial meeting soon.

I'm 10 hours west of the last one.

What's more interesting is the fact that yesterday gold ramped up parabolically $33/oz starting about noon Eastern time indicating that the ewe-noo-hoos knew the final result of the "election" even before the first exit polling data was released.

Just a coincidence, I'm sure.

Gold & silver should be the last thing to accumulate after all your other needs are covered. Unless you have 100K+ to dump, I'd recommend buying silver on weakness. Gold at 1700 makes me a little nervous. The highest I've paid until Friday was 904/oz.

I think PMs will be virtually worthless during the coming crisis. A can of beans will cost you an oz of gold. The value in PMs will be in being able to transfer wealth through the coming crisis. PMs are not a substitute for preparation. You're not gonna buy your way out of what's coming.

Yep, I couldn't agree more. I'm having the area above my garage finished out (it's about 22' x 22') and once that's done, I'll begin to lay in food, etc. I'm looking to be finished w/my food preps by Spring and then I'll begin an investment strategy.

All prepping is just self-insurance.

Stuff we pray never to use, but stuff we want to have plenty of on hand if/when the shtf.

Actually, I try to incorporate the survival stuff into everyday life as much as possible so I'm constantly rotating through it and keeping it fresh. Also it won't be such a shock when the SHTF.

Not really, I bought 4 freedom units from efoodsdirect several years ago. The Sam's stuff looks to be about the same but a lot cheaper.

Thanks, SamsClub it is then.

Now to get the garage joists decked and the roof decking sprayed with radiant barrier paint...prolly need some ridge venting also.

Oh well, it's just fiat money.
