The Scots-Irish are overwhelmingly stupid and fierce. They are the only tribe never defeated, and even George Patton said that. In The Silence of the Lambs the author Thomas Harris (guess what he is?) made Clarine Starling Scots-Irish and Hannibal Lector tormented her about it when he met her, suggesting she was about one generation removed from poor white trash. Even Thomas said they were not-very-bright and fierce, and being one generation removed from bootlegger Tennessee and Kentucky hillbillies I know what those lunatics are like. Even my own parents and friends have suggested I have a very mean streak in me, and I know exactly where it came from.
