Brendan Farrington, File/Associated Press - FILE - In this Sept. 17, 2012 photo, George P. Bush speaks with Florida State University students before beginning a bus tour in Tallahassee, Fla. A Texas official on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 said Bush, nephew of former President George W. Bush, has made a campaign filing that is required for someone to run for office in his home state.

DALLAS — George P. Bush, a nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of one-time Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has made a campaign filing in Texas that is required of candidates planning to run for state office, an official said Thursday night.

The younger Bush, a Fort Worth resident, filed a campaign treasurer appointment Wednesday, a requirement for someone to become a candidate under campaign finance law, Tim Sorrells, general counsel for the Texas Ethics Commission, told The Associated Press.

Sorrells said the report does not specify what office Bush might seek, if any, and he had no other details on the filing, which wasn’t available online. Bush did not immediately reply to an email seeking comment, and no phone listing for him could be found.

The 36-year-old said in September his goal was to run for office and acknowledged that he had his eyes on several statewide offices.

Raised in Florida, Bush decided to settle in Texas, home to his uncle and his grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush. He runs a consulting firm and has been active in Republican Party outreach to college students. He’s also the co-founder of Hispanic Republicans of Texas, a group that seeks to elect Hispanic candidates.

Ana Navarro, who was the national Hispanic co-chairwoman for John McCain when he ran for president in 2008, tweeted her enthusiasm Thursday.

“Wrote check for my friend, (at)georgepbush newly formed exploratory committee for office in TX. Young, pragmatic, Hispanic, just what GOP needs,” Navarro’s tweet read.

Bush and his wife, Amanda, met while attending law school at the University of Texas at Austin. After working as a lawyer, Bush became a partner in a real estate investment firm. He has started his second company, St. Augustine Partners, a business consulting firm aimed at small- and medium-market energy industries.

Bush also has Navy service on his resume, including a six-month deployment to Afghanistan, where, for security purposes, he was given a different name. Not even those he was serving alongside knew he was a Bush.

GEORGE P BUSH, the 24-year-old nephew of the Republican presidential candidate and a pin-up for the party, was arrested for burglary when he was 18, according to a report yesterday.

A television station in Florida said Mr Bush was arrested six years ago for breaking into the house of a girlfriend in the Killian area of Miami.

He got the JFK-treatment, only better since he got an alias. How many military members get an alias?? I've never heard of it happening these days, even Prince Harry serves under his own name and he's REAL royalty, not some hybrid-Bush mutation.

GEORGE P BUSH, the 24-year-old nephew

I'm relying on wikipedia, so I could easily be wrong, but they having GP being born in 1976, making him 36 this last April.

He'll still be too green to have a legitimate shot at the presidency. Maybe VP?

He's got that post-apartheid high sheen to his complexion. This Bush might be doable.

And the Republican faithful of FR, LP, Hannity, etc. just can't WAIT to vote for him using the same excuse they use every four years - "he's better than the Democrat!"

Actually they'll embrace him with the hope that he will bring some beaner votes with him - which he won't.

Calling Ron Paul an isolationist is like calling your neighbor a hermit because he doesn't come over and break your window - unknown

I WITHDRAW MY CONSENT!
Any perceived compliance with unconstitutional “laws” or orders put forth by government employees is NOT recognition of their authority; it is simply the result of carefully calculated submission to an entity exhibiting superior firepower.

The Kennedy assassin endorsed Romney !

His "endorsement" was an intentional left handed one.

It was never an up front effort, just as the olde man did when Oromney went to him on bended knee and got nothing.

If I can find shrubs "endorsement" I will tag it on.''Olde Jeb will now carry Florida in his back pocket with no effort next time.

The stupid blacks will vote for their white massa instead of their black massa.

Apparently the Bush Cabal loves texas. Texans are so stupid they'll give us another Bush in the future. The only one more stupid than Texans was the last Bush to sit on the throne. His brain was fried by booze and drugs.

No more Bushs!
