It has been proven that non-African populations average 2.5% Neanderthal DNA. There is a $300 test that I am going to take to find out how much I have, but I suspect it's more than 2.5 percent. Now what's interesting about this is that some people think we picked up all kinds of good things from the Neanderthals. Essentially primitive people did nothing until about 35,000 year ago, then suddenly whites exploded all over the place and created all sorts of advances. Some think it would have never happened without the introduction of Neanderthal DNA. Then on the other hand we have Africans, who have no Neanderthal DNA, and are stuck in 20,000 BC. I suspect the same would have happened to whites and Asians without interbreeding with Neanderthals.

No, but I have a Neanderthal/Celtic toe on my left foot, and the woman who lives next door to me has them on both feet. And she's schizophrenic. It's been postulated that bipolar disorder, ADD and schizophrenia are Neanderthal traits that are dysfunctional in modern society. My schizophrenic neighbor actually has a lot of good qualities, as does a bipolar woman I know. By the way, Carrie Fisher is bipolar, and she ended up being a talented actress, writer and comedian. These "disorders" appear to be associated with a lot of creativity. Although the diagnosis did not exist when I was a kid, I would have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder without Hyperactivity. I had a terrible time in school, mostly being bored and daydreaming and not doing my homework. There are actually govt agents who spread conspiracy theories among the gullible to help promote the illusion that the govt is all powerful.

Drove through there a couple of times. Never had time to stop and check it out. Tried to snap a photo of the highway sign at 95 mph. Look, honey! There's . . . I like dnatribes.com, which uses STR rather than SNP for higher resolution. 23andme also goes out of its way to be PC, and some admixture tests classify Asian Indians as caucasian and lump them in with white folk. Dnatribes gives gives markedly(!) different results for Ashkenazi, as compared to white folk, and they provide sample results for a bunch of different kinds of people. Both archaic and current modern populations are compared. I looked at them briefly but I'll check more in depth later on. I'll have to ask them if they look for Neanderthal DNA. I pretty much know everything else - Scots-Irish, German, some Cherokee. There are actually govt agents who spread conspiracy theories among the gullible to help promote the illusion that the govt is all powerful.
