Before the Twin Towers fell, there were reports of explosions inside the buildings. Obviously these were cutting charges to shear the columns at decisive points, thus allowing the towers to collapse.

One of the saddest ironies of the whole escapade is that I worked with many FDNY parmedics at Woodstock '94. Undoubtedly, many of them were caught inside those buildings and lost their lives.

For shits and giggles I once adjusted the sound track on some WTC collapse videos so that the audio would be in synch with the video (taking into account the speed of sound and the distance the camera was from the tower(s)) and I could distinctly hear explosions before the onset of collapse. I wish I still had the video. They died with my old computer.
