I lived in Red River, NM, for several years and still have a lot of friends there. This guy, Michael Martin Murphey, and many other musicians would often times spend the night and early morning hours playing for a small private group of people (like 25-30) locals at the Lodge @ Red River, which is attached to the MotherLode Bar, and Texas Red's Restaraunt and is owned by the same folks. I lived and worked in this place (Lodge) and the Holidays always brought a bunch of these musicians into the Lodge and it was always a fantastic time. The atmosphere with the fireplace blazing and all of these great musicians having an all night jam session just couldn't be any better. Red River, NM, is a small mountain ski community and the MotherLode is where the action's at. My best buddy manages the Lodge, Texas Red's and the MotherLode Bar.
