Just remember the Republican mantra: "This is not the time to talk about gun laws."

Repeat it over and over. And then repeat it to each of 27 families in Connecticut. Let us know if they agree with you.

Would you feel better if hundreds were killed by some maniac mixing bleach and ammonia in a city park water fountain?

Who am I kidding, of course you would. Then you would be agitating to ban parks everywhere that people least likely to do so live.

Perhaps Shoonra would prefer Molotov Cocktails, who knows. There are MANY ways for a true nut to kill MANY people, from setting them on fire with gasoline, to running them over with their cars.

I can safely assume that this guy was on some sort of psychiatric meds, as pretty much ALL of the other mass shooters were on.

What needs to be examined and perhaps banned outright are these volatile prescription drugs which drive people insane.

Agreed, which also implies they were under the control of a medical/psychiatric "professional", licensed and trained in the the care of individuals who may someday pose a threat to civil society. Sublimely ridiculous yet tragic at the same time.

The so-called "professional" and the drug manufacturer should be held liable for "adverse reactions" to any drugs prescribed to the patient if it results in homicide, where those drugs can be linked to other homicides in the past.

Absolutely, provided it wasn't a one in ten million occurrence. It's the willful negligence/profiteering that bothers me. I'm sure you agree, I just wanted to add that caveat to better define this position.

I'd wager that this guy was either on Prozac, Paxil, or some other type of SSRI. It's that family of drugs which are typicaly found to be tied to mass murders in recent times. Even Ritalin has been seen to trigger these outbursts.

Just for fun, I give you one Lee Harvey Oswald, MK Ultra, and buyers of millions of American Motors products beginning with the Pacer. Much of this predates discovery of Seratonin.

Not sure how that ties in with insane behavior leading to murder. Care to explain?

The AMC Pacer, believe it or not, is the vehicle I most associate with abnormal behavior. Almost all the child molesters, dog fuckers, and beer stealing neighbors I ever encountered drove a Pacer at one time or another.

Okie dokie. But seriously, the drugs truly are the common element in the documented cases I linked. I'd say virtually all of the high profile cases over the past 10 or 15 years have been the result of psychiatric meds.

I tend to agree, but craziness has a thousand bastard fathers.
