Can you imagine what kind of beating Cabela's is taking as well? While watching FNC this afternoon, Megyn Kelly mentioned about the shooter's mother who would keep him locked in a basement. This was not discussed at all but just briefly mentioned and I seriously think the spotlight needs to be shed on the mother. I suspect there may have been a history of child abuse in this family which triggered the shooter to act as he did. I don't condone his actions at all. However, I really sense there is more to this story than just the mental issues with this individual. Many children with autism come from families who abused them so much to the point that the child develops no feelings of pain anymore. They can't talk to anybody because they've learned through the abuse not to trust anybody. It is quite possible this mother was the abuser quite often in this child's youth. What I saw in her was someone who was more concerned about her community standing and contributions in the neighborhood, than with any concern with her disturbed child. And her keeping this child in a basement really bothers me. I believe that what this child developed throughout time was a form of mental dissociation from whatever he endured. Perhaps, he developed a type of feeling that is almost lacking in empathy for anybody. They become so tough mentally that many label them as cold. Finally, when push comes to shove, they just snap. It's why when I work with people I ALWAYS treat people the way I would want to be treated. Some people view this as a sign of weakness but woe to those people who think this at all.

You are just filled with idiotic statements. I really have to wonder what you were doing in your college economics classes. Wherever did you learn that "Unfettered" capitalism means that a business can do whatever it wants with impunity and that its customer base has to shut up and take it? What a bunch of horse manure. Actions have consequences and in this case the consequences of those actions is resulting in unhappy customers and potential customers. People walk away when they are unhappy. Had you ever taken a business course you would also know that for every vocal complaint there is at least one customer who feels the same way but who will not vocalize his or her unhappiness and instead just walk away. I visited CTD Sunday and Monday and they were sold out of the controversial items in question. My local shop is almost out and all distributors are empty. All AR fuel is gone as well. Their decision was null in terms of sales/profits. Purely for convenience and cheap political gain. I suspect WalMart and other big retailers were also out and chose to gain imagewise with no business loss.

Oh well, Cheaper Than Dirt is higher than a cat's back, anyway. The last time I went into their McKinney store I walked out empty-handed: piss-poor selection and outrageous prices. Besides, it seems to me that they cater to the "tacti-cool" crowd.

Here is what I read yesterday where they talked about how many people died in America every day from being shot. What kind of "ignunt" $#it is that? 53 out of the total of 85 are suicides! WTF, if they banned guns completely, took up everyone in existence and melted them all down, people would quit killing themselves? When I read stuff like that I think I have well and truly fallen into the Twilight Zone. Ok, so they determined that well over half of those 85 people (a bit more than 60%) kill themselves, that leaves 32 deaths due to all other reasons combined. Some would be accidental of course. In a country of more than 300 million people that doesn't sound like the murder and mayhem capital of the world, does it? The Dec. 14 slaying of 20 children and six adults at the school in Newtown, Connecticut, reignited a debate over gun violence. While mass murders are rare, shootings aren’t. About 85 Americans are shot dead daily -- 53 of them suicides. Every day, one of those killed by firearms is 14 or younger.
