Slightly off topic, but I did something yesterday that I have not done in years. I called my state assemblyman and my state senator, not so much to influence how they might vote on any gun control bill, but to see if they are getting a lot of calls and if so, which way those callers were leaning. Staffers for both said the phones are very busy and overwhelmingly opposed to new controls. I think the people are somewhat awake. I did express my own opposition to controls, btw.
