The following is a list, provided by the White House, of executive actions President Obama plans to take to address gun violence.

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).

9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.

11. Nominate an ATF director.

12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.

14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.

15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

WTF?

Here's TF.

They've staged yet one more bloody event organized to buffalo us once again and timed to coincide with another legislative campaign long in the pipeline.

The results have been less than spectacular with huge lines for firearms and ammo at the gunstores and a marginal uptick in anti-gun sentiment in national polling. Some in the Senate (the usual suspects) were hoping for another soft shoe act where a filibuster on unpopular legislation is avoided, but Harry Reid (NRA "B") has poured water on anything serious coming out of Congress this session. There is still a lot of action planned on the budget and immigration and the leadership on both sides does'nt want to waste political capital on another gun ban.

So while what the Chief Wise Guy proposes here presents concerns as far as the privacy of our papers, medical records and confidentiality goes, it's mostly a wallpaper to cover up the fact that they can't really do shit this year. This laundry list looks like it was cooked up in one fevered all-night brainstorming session attended by every factotum in the administration that might have an interest in this issue.

DC area caterers are already stocking up to supply innumerable meetings conferences with the tons of canapes and fancy finger food that will be required. It doesn't have to be great. There is nothing that they can't choke down in the District of Criminals.

Know guns, know safety, know liberty. No guns, no safety, no liberty.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

To keep people from "slipping through the cracks" they will have to get the goods on them, such as a commitment to a mental health unit or a criminal record or some other such thing.

BTW, I've never been involved with any of them. ;)

Obama's 23 Executive Gun Control Actions

When fighting against going over the "fiscal cliff" and performing other such things that will keep us on track with the budget, I doubt they will have any time left to do anything on a gun ban, even if Obummer thinks he can do those "executive actions" against us. ;)

That is disconcerting.

Yes, very. At first blush, it appears that they are trying to link firearm ownership with mental illness. The part about doctors being allowed (later mandated) to probe into whether or not you possess weapons seems a sure-fire way to be diagnosed as mentally ill and drugged. Returning PTSD vets will no longer be allowed to own guns (remember the Big Sis lesbo saying vets are potential terrorists?). I also believe they're angling to make firearm ownership a pretext for withholding of healthcare through the O'boingo care system (the ultimate death panel, give up your suspected guns or die. Either way, they win).

I wonder if it wont be much more serious... kinda like what is unspoken ...

I guarantee it will be. Congress has yet to have their (the jewZio's) say in the matter. This isn't going to go away.

From the Comments section at tenthamendmentcenter.com:

Actually, no law suit is needed. All the states need to do is simply refuse to implement it. In order to implement nullification, all a state has to do is consider the law [My note: or Executive Order] to be unconstitutional. If the feds threaten to withhold federal funding, the states should simply cease collecting all federal taxes within their borders and keep the money for the use of their own citizens.

The Federal Government is not authorized to impose gun controls at all on any American citizens for any reason(s) and especially not by Executive branch dictats. Neither are the States authorized to violate the 2nd Amendment rights of American citizens by making or enforcing Unconstitutional laws and orders. If they're concerned about safety, the State Militias could act as patrol officers -- not to be confused as the National Guards only.

Edited for spelling.

fromthetrenchesworldreport.com: Sandy Hook, Gun Control & The REAL Argument [Excerpts]

Yes, you’re ALL missing the point and folks had best redirect their efforts and their time into the real question revolving around our Second Amendment as well as the rest of the contents of the Bill of Rights and that is – are ANY of their past or proposed “laws” [My note: or Executive Orders] lawful and binding on Citizens or the states?

[sic]

“the Second Amendment secures a personal right of individuals, not a collective right”. [My note: Ref. the SCOTUS ruling in the 2008 Heller case linked at the site above.] So, the government themselves admit that we have a “Right” to keep and bear arms so this question is moot. Thus the People and the government both understand the FACTS. The “People” have the Right to keep and bear arms and the government is PRECLUDED from changing that fact by the phrase “shall not be infringed”.

So, the real question is how can they license that Right, regulate that Right, tax that Right, ‘limit’ that Right, or, in any way, remove that Right by legislation, Executive Order or any other crafty method thought up in Washington DC? Simply put, THEY CAN NOT without amending our Constitution.

Let’s ponder my point in the simplest manner. [sic]

How about the House & Senate pass a ‘law’ Titled “Executive Office Ascension Bill” wherein they state that after January 1st 2013 the office of the Presidency will be transferred, every four years, to the highest bidder, in an open and public auction.” This is clear and to the point. The office of the Presidency will no longer be attained by some quasi-democratic election but transferred to the highest bidder. Simple, right? Lawful, no. Why? Because how a President attains office is governed by our Constitution. In order to ‘change’, ‘amend’ or ‘augment’ how a President attains office Washington MUST go through the formal Amendment Process described within Article V of the Constitution.

The Second Amendment (indeed ANYTHING with regard to the Constitution or Bill of Rights) is no freaking different. If those nitwits in House & Senate wish to ‘change’, ‘amend’ or ‘regulate’ any aspect of what’s written within our Second Amendment, Washington MUST go through the formal Amendment Process described within Article V of the Constitution. Simply ‘legislating’ the words “(v)(1) It shall be unlawful for a person to manufacture, transfer, or possess a semiautomatic assault weapon.” as they did in their bill titled H.R.3355 in 1994 or again in 2013 doesn’t make their legislative changes to our Constitution lawful any more than their legislating making Obama the President For Life would.

So, gun owners and Constitutionally minded Americans, Oathkeepers, LEOs and members of our armed forces (not to mention the social fascists legislating in Washington and our state capitals) need to get this straight and I quote the Supreme Court of the United States: “Where rights (liberty) secured by the Constitution are involved, there can be no legislation which would abrogate (abolish) them.“ Rights contained in our Bill of Rights can NOT be altered accept by Constitutional amendment. As such, any ”Laws” made to regulate or limit, license or ban or in any way alter our Constitution short of a Constitutional Amendment pursuant to Article V are ILLEGAL under our Constitution.

[sic]

“A free people … should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government. – George Washington.

Similar to the George Washington quote, ref. Judge Andrew Napolitano at washingtontimes.com:

The historical reality of the Second Amendment’s protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not that it protects the right to shoot deer. It protects the right to shoot tyrants, and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, with the same instruments they would use upon us.

Most people in government reject natural rights and personal sovereignty. Most people in government believe that the exercise of everyone’s rights is subject to the will of those in the government. Most people in government believe that they can write any law and regulate any behavior, not subject to the natural law, not subject to the sovereignty of individuals, not cognizant of history’s tyrants, but subject only to what they can get away with.

Did you empower the government to impair the freedom of us all because of the mania and terror of a few?

Nope, I did not empower the gov to do that and neither does the Constitution.

Edited for excerpts notation and additions at Paragraph 1.

Hello Grey

Notice that the cost of an AR-15 went thru the roof,....same for ammo.
Some states have laws on certain ammo.
You cross state lines with the tagged/non compliant ammo,....and Mr Lawyer is someone you experience next.
The system begins to feed after you are initially charged.
Alex Jones and the spin artists shreik about gun confiscation and police state.
When the real game is....enlarge the fines,taxes,fear.....and police state.
This Homeland Reich behemoth needs more to do on the landscape....as the Elite have big money and big plans for it.
They already take weapons away from citizens....
Its FU in your face...LOLAY....get a Lawyer.
Who is going to flip 10 G for a 2,000.00 AR-15?
That legal cycle will get backed up years and years.
Its probable they intend to make owning a gun as expensive and fraught with fear as they can.
You take the ole AR 15 in the back yard to clean it and after a phone call....the entire neighborhood is in lock down with children being held by state officials and refused release....until the Gun crisis goes away.
Ya...they are going to make your neighbor turn on you...more tension...more pleasure....more lawyers.
The increased militarized police check and medical check will flip any number of people who owe** the system in some way.
Something I have been watching for....is the excuse to have US military on us roads/hiways and in the citys.
Police can play the fake game of being under armed and over their head....which results in MR soldier sent to their rescue and media spin cycle.
The process will tumble police and military who refuse to participate/follow orders.
swapped out with a roid head or mexican who will.
Bill Clinton had executive orders in his admin which empowered the goob to order you out of your home and could put a shovel in your hand and say do!
The doom is already there on legal....question is....will they really pull the pin.

Hi there, Parrot with speed dial. :) Thanks for your concerned reply.

Guns without ammo are not arms per 2A -- just blunt instruments. Restricting ammo for them, making ammo and arms cost prohibitive or categorically prohibitive, harming Americans financially and otherwise with their lawyerly stratagems of attrition -- all Constitutionally unlawful on various levels and in the range of Acts of War: interfering with the right of self-defense, impairing the effectiveness of State Militias -- which is the citizenry thereof -- by disarmament and so on, for examples. Poverty and coercions were not intended to preclude proper armament for defense by the State Militias/citizenry in accordance with the 2nd Amendment, as evidenced by the fact that those who couldn't afford to adequately arm themselves for those duties and training were provided arms in America's early days. No sufficient reason that I know of for why that shouldn't still be so.

They've devised a behemoth-system that has nothing to do with the Constitution. America is the private property of Constitutionalists, not theirs. They want to act like slumlords as if it is theirs to do with as they wish but it isn't. Anyone that wants to reside in their slavish "tenement" complex can revoke their American citizenship and sign up with them. And so we are back to the article excerpt I inserted in my previous post as Paragrah 1 there:

...folks had best redirect their efforts and their time into the real question revolving around our Second Amendment as well as the rest of the contents of the Bill of Rights and that is – are ANY of their past or proposed “laws” [My note: or Executive Orders] lawful and binding on Citizens or the states?

Am not posting that video as an endorsement of Anonymous but as illustrative on why and how the US military could possibly be called upon by We the People for service on US roads/highways and in the cities, etc., as a counter-measure to Unconstitutional governance and any foreign forces imposed on us here by rogues of so-called officialdom.

Mr. Spooner, your post seems to have a lot of merit. I'm reposting it in a little different format for clarity.

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

1. Cough up the data.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

2. Privacy be damned.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

3. Bribe the states.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

4. Exclude more potential owners.

5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

5. If we seize it without cause, good luck getting it back.

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

6. Make dealers do your dirty work.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

7. If you got them put them where you can't quickly get them.

8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).

8. Eliminate quick-access locks and safes.

9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

12. Forget cops checking down range before firing.

Obama The Kenyan King Is LIVID Over Gun Control Blowback: This Time The People Won And The Commies Lost

Posted By: Watchman Date: Thursday, 17-Jan-2013 09:28:52 A brief update from a Republican Insider fighting to renew conservative principles and defeat the globalist Big Government liberalism of Barack Obama and his supporters.

Like me you were probably watching the president’s gun control speech today. Was told this morning the presentation today was a revised version that was completed just last night after a bunch of back and forth between the White House and Senate leaders. Guessing that would be Harry Reid mostly. Last week the president was ready to go all in on the executive order scenario. Confiscation was going to be in play. Then the backlash came and it forced Obama to back off. He didn’t want to but after Reid said it was a no go, and the NRA was preparing to go to war with the White House, the president was given a revised script and that is what we heard this morning. You could tell too. Obama stumbled over the words more than usual. He didn’t have the time to prep the script like he normally does. Probably fuming he was forced to read the new version also.

This time WE WON and OBAMA LOST.

If people want to know how to go at the administration, this is how you do it. Be informed, and make your voices heard. This is an example of how the new media I have been telling you about can work against the globalists. It can be a huge weapon against them. And a big thank you to the NRA. It took on Obama and didn’t back off. A big part of the plan coming from the White House was to cripple the NRA and make it a liability for 2014 and beyond. That didn’t work and it will be a liability, but one that is going to hurt Democrats, not conservatives. Big time backfire for the Obama White House. I was told it “rocked them on their heels”. They fundamentally don’t understand the American people and they didn’t see this backlash coming. They have the media, and the glossy presentations, but they don’t really understand the American people and this debate was a pure example of that being played out. I love it!

Congrats to the state governments that were willing to voice opposition too. They did that and took on a lot of risk. Heard a list is being made and federal dollars might be taken away from them. Those state leaders knew that could happen but took on the administrationanyways. That’s real leadership and courage being put on display for all of us and voters living in those states need to let those leaders know it is appreciated. You know how I feel about how important the 10th Amendment is, and today was also a big victory for the 10th Amendment against the Obama White House.

Now from here it’s clear Obama wants to try and use the issue as leverage for the 2014 midterms. They are hoping they can salvage something out of what became a fiasco for them. I just don’t sense enough Democrats willing to play along on this one though. Apparently the NRA and some other groups were lining up primary challengers to Democrats who went along with the president’s gun control plans and letting those Democrats know it was coming. That scared the heck out of them. Barack Obama is entering his lame duck phase, and the Democrats know it. After 2014 he becomes a museum piece. The president knows that too and it’s really ticking him off. We have to rub that in his face 24/7 while also building the conservative base back up into the kind of powerful entity it should be.

When people get involved, and make some noise, they still have the power. Use the new media, contact the lawmakers both state and federal, and talk to the people around you. That is power. That is what makes America so great and that is what happened today.

The president had his little moment, and was pretending it meant something, but he said nothing. That 21 (23) point plan or whatever it was, was hollow. It was a gutted version of what he was hoping to do as recently as a few days ago. Instead, he had to roll over and made a weak threat to Congress but that threat starts in the Senate and they already told him to shut up. Obama backed off. He lost this time, and it was all because of the American people. His media will try to spin it as something different, and if he gets another chance, the president will be right back to pushing for confiscation, but for now, we won this particular fight.

This victory is a lot bigger than you’ll hear in the regular media. It’s a lot bigger than anyone who stood their ground will ever know about. The Obama White House was trying to go very big on this gun control thing, and couldn’t pull it off. And Barack Obama is livid about it. Like a spoiled brat he can’t believe he had to scrap the original speech for today’s version.

Today was a great day for the good guys. Of course, there’s always another fight just around the corner, so we have to be ready. Let your readers know they did a great job on this. Each of them were a part of forcing the president to back off. Let’s do it again!

What a SUPERB! tag.

That is EXACTLY what the Kenyan reminds me of, a spoiled child who thinks that he is always supposed to get his way on everything and when he doesn't he throws tantrums--or in his case engages in three-day-hithy fits.

Sucks to be him. Congress (Rs & Ds) have other fish to fry and the public's memory span is short. About two shakes of a lamb's tail. This may slide off the agenda sooner than later, but it's still important to be vigilant.

The great gun control goose squawked and squatted down to lay her golden egg.

But something else less splendid plopped upon the pavement.

..folks had best redirect their efforts and their time into the real question revolving around our Second Amendment as well as the rest of the contents of the Bill of Rights and that is – are ANY of their past or proposed “laws” [My note: or Executive Orders] lawful and binding on Citizens or the states?

State Authority has declined away/compromised....abdicated...to the Federal since the First Foreign Fractional Reserve banking acts appeared.
Today....most State Governors and the Attorney Generals walk in step with the Virus* UN Agenda 21 protocols.
If State AG's actually defended their States extant/historic representation charters
You would not have criminal Sheriffs depts.....criminal municiple admins...or illegals running loose on the lease.
and the UN would not be rewriting the State like a software download/virus.

Restoring each State to working partnership which is accountable to its citizens would clear alot of this shit up.
The citizens will tell the AG which sheriffs are trash...which cops are trash...which civic admin types are trash....and they would be out after a public vote.
No more wasting money on investigations where crony's can be bought off.
Citizens do confront the system...and get some fawning attention...and are shuffled off as momentum ebbs away....the politician simply rides it out.
There's way to many dams, mines, roads, rivers, forests etc getting shuttered by the Fed's and EPA...the State AG should not allow this....to hell with the UN!

Farming is another reality where the State AG simply allows the Fed's and the big Corporations to crush the State Citizen.
I know people hate Obama....but what about their State Governor and Attorney General?

States also have a say on the value of energy,property,commerce....

States need not secede from the Union....they need to quit the farggin UN and run the NGO's and un elected officials off.

I don't see any of these proposed Exec Orders taking away any guns from any person legally entitled to have it.
