The Assholedness of the “Daily Koshole” Community

Home - by - February 3, 2013 - 10:54 America/New_York - 20 Comments

The news of the murder of American war-hero sniper Chris Kyle is a sad one, and I was positive nary a tear would be shed over at the Koshhole. These morons never disappoint, and “diarist” Lefty Coaster was all aboard the stupid train and picking up passengers along the way.

Not even a gun range had enough good guys with a gun to stop one bad guy with a gun

One thing is sure. If there’s not enough of Wayne LaPierre’s “good guys with a gun” at a shooting range where ALL of the good guys have a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun, then how will more guns conceivably make us any safer?

!snip!

Where do you start with this idiocy? I guess in this moron’s fever dream this was the scenario: Hundreds of “Gun Nuts™” were lined up shooting paper targets and a guy walked in and started shooting randomly at the patronage and Chris Kyle was shot and killed while all of the “good ol’ boys” just stood there pissing themselves as the gunman took off unabated in Kyle’s truck.

No, moron. The details are vague. What is known is that Kyle and his friend were shot by a man suffering from PTSD. He then took off in Kyle’s truck. The two victims were found dead HOURS LATER. This didn’t happen in the presence of a firing line, you jerkface.

Now, to address your other idiocy. Suppose a maniac actually did go into a firing range and started firing? I would bet that most of the people there to shoot wouldn’t be immediately aware it was even happening, what with the OTHER SHOTS BEING FIRED OVER AND OVER ALL DAY LONG!!!! You idiot. But I highly doubt he would leave the range alive if he stood there firing at people as if they were Adam Lanza’s unarmed and helpless victims.

Comments from the Koshole Klan:

Here is one of my favorites!

Damn! If only Chris Kyle was gay!

And then you have these armchair big brains who have as much information on this story as most, which is little. But that doesn’t stop them from blathering. You know the type. You’re probably forced to be around them on Thanksgiving

The victims “…were shot while helping a soldier who is recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome at a gun range…”

Somehow you have to wonder why a PTSD sufferer is at a firing range to be helped. WTF!No kidding, huh? Fuckin’ PTSD (1+ / 0- and let’s put a gun in his hand to “help him”.
Doesn’t sound like this was sanctioned in any way by anyone who knows anything about the syndrome.

In The Annals of Therapy (0+ / 0-)

I would say taking a guy with PTSD to a gun range is probably foolhardy at best.

I suspect these guys were trying to do DYI therapy. They probably have no real knowledge of PTSD or the current treatments. PTSD is very tricky. Please don’t try DYI therapy unless you’re credentialed, trained and up on the latest research. What a shame.

Who said the shooter was at the range for “shooting therapy”? What Koshole did they pull this out of?

Settle down, folks. This was a private and *exclusive* gun range: deer season is over, I'm guessing that they were the only people on the range at the time. It's happened to me, I show up and have the place to myself for quite a period of time depending on the time of year I show up. In addition, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is going on for three weeks, that draws in A LOT of people from all over the countryside, and then there were people planning Super Bowl activities. IOW, it would be the perfect time for a very private range session. That's the most logical conclusion and I don't have any doubts that's exactly what happened.

P.S. Rough Creek Lodge covers 11,000 acres.

I'd think that RoughCreek.com would be packed.

With rates starting at $310 per person/per night and rapidly escalating, that thins the herd real fast this time of year. In addition, I'm guessing that Chris Kyle would prefer to get use of the pistol range on an exclusive basis for dealing with "wounded warriors".

Dallas, Texas – Chief Chris Kyle (USN) and his trusted friend, Chad Littlefield, were tragically killed on Saturday, February 2, 2013, by a troubled veteran whom they were trying to help. Chief Kyle lived by a personal motto that "it is our duty to serve those, who serve us," and he and Littlefield died honoring this creed. Above all else, Chief Kyle was a unique individual and an amazingly loving father, husband, son, brother, friend and devout Christian who had a profound effect on the lives of those he touched.

Chief Kyle was publicly known for being the President of Craft International LLC and the author of the best-selling book, American Sniper. Chief Kyle, a former Navy SEAL, served four Combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and elsewhere. For his bravery in battle, he was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medals, and one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation. After retiring from the Navy, Chief Kyle founded Craft International LLC, a military and law enforcement training company, and was involved in numerous charities, including co-founding FITCO Cares Foundation, and other charitable events benefiting wounded and disabled servicemen and women returning from combat.

"Chris was a true American hero having devoted his adult life to serving his country in combat as a member of the U.S. Navy SEALs and in training our military and law enforcement personnel after leaving the Navy. Chris was also an extremely devoted family man – a wonderful husband and loving father. He gave so much of his time to charitable causes that assisted military personnel and their families and died while trying to help a struggling service member. We are all saddened by his tragic death. America lost one of its finest sons and a true patriot. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kyle family" said Steven Young, Craft's CEO.

Mr. Young requests that the media respect the privacy of the Kyle family and friends while they grieve the loss of Chief Kyle. Details of the memorial service and funeral will be released at a later time.

Respectfully Craft International

STEPHENVILLE — The suspect who killed former Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle and another man at an Erath County gun range on Saturday used a semi-automatic handgun, investigators said at a Sunday afternoon news conference.

They could not say whether suspect Eddie Routh owned that weapon.

Routh, a 25-year-old Iraq war veteran, was moved early Sunday to a jail in Stephenville, where he is being kept in a cell by himself for observation. He was said to have asked for the necessary paperwork to provide a court-appointed attorney.

Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant offered a detailed timeline of what happened Saturday at Rough Creek Lodge, a resort located 53 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

At 3:15 p.m., Chris Kyle, Chad Littlefield and Routh enter Rough Creek Lodge and go to a remote shooting range. "To my knowledge, this was the first time they were to gether at the gun range," Bryant said.

At 5 p.m., a hunting guide at the lodge finds the victims, who appear to have been shot and killed. He calls 911 and deputies arrive to confirm the deaths. It is quickly determined that the suspect took Kyle's distinctive black pickup truck, and a bulletin is issued for that vehicle.

Eddie Routh drives to his sister's home in Midlothian and tells her and his brother-in-law what he had done. He leaves, and she notifies police.

Police find him at his home in Lancaster around 8 o'clock, along with Kyle's pickup truck. Lancaster police, Dallas County Sheriff's deputies, the Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies surround the house, make contact with Routh and begin to talk with him.

"At some point, he was able to leave the home and get back in the vehicle and leave," Sheriff Bryant said. He was unable to explain how Routh was able to get away, but it led to a pursuit.

"Around 9 p.m. they spiked his tires, the vehicle was stopped, and he was apprehended without any scuffle or fight," the sheriff said.

Routh was transferred to Erath County early Sunday morning and charged with one count of capital murder and two counts of murder, although District Attorney Alan Nash said the eventual charges will be two counts of capital murder. Bond was set at $3 million.

Investigators said they had yet to develop a motive for the crime, and that Routh has not admitted or confessed to the murders.

"Basically, we have two victims and one suspect in custody and now is when the work starts," said sheriff's department investigator Jason Upshaw.

"Our overarching goal is to seek justice," Nash added, noting that additional official information would be minimal. "If we work through [the news media] instead of the court process, it taints the process."

"It's a sad day," Upshaw noted. "We lost two American heroes. My heart goes out to the families and their loved ones."

I don't see the guy as a hero at all. He bragged about killing people for crying out loud and then made up a story about punching Jesse Ventura in a bar that Ventura completely denied happened and was going to take legal action against him for claiming that. I can't feel bad about this guy getting killed at all. Maybe the guy who shot him will brag about it like he bragged about killing people.
