Former pilot and 9/11 conspiracy theorist shoots and kills 2 teen children, then himself

Xeni Jardin at 6:41 pm Mon, Feb 4

Slaying victims Alex and Macaila Marshall with their father, Phillip Marshall.

Phillip (alternately, "Philip") Marshall, 54, a career airline pilot who claimed to have once served as a contract pilot for the CIA and DEA during the Iran-Contra affair, shot and killed his two teenage children, and the family dog, then killed himself.

The apparent murder-suicide was discovered at the family home in an upscale gated golfing community in Murphys, California.

According to local news reports, teen friends of Alex Marshall, 17 (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and Macaila Marshall (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), 14, noticed the siblings had not been active via text or social media updates since Thursday and went by the house on Saturday to check on them.

The last posts made by either child to Instagram and Facebook were dated Thursday night.

The friends told police that when they arrived, they found Phillip Marshall, 54, "lying in a pool of blood inside the home," his 9mm Glock nearby.

Deputies believe the children were shot while sleeping on a couch.

The family dog was found shot to death in a nearby bedroom.

Marshall's estranged wife Sean, the children's mother, was out of the country at the time.

Phillip Marshall has been identified as a former pilot for Eastern and United airlines. He self-published a number of books, including at least two about his 9/11 conspiracy theories: "The Big Bamboozle" (February 9, 2012) and "False Flag 911: How Bush, Cheney and the Saudis Created the Post-911 World" (July 29, 2008).

A previous novel published in 2003, "Lakefront Airport, New Orleans," detailed his claimed experience as a pilot for the US during Iran/Contra.

In his books and his social media bios (including multiple Facebook accounts, his Twitter account and a Tumblr), he claims to have served as a contract pilot for the CIA's Special Activities Division during the Iran-Contra affair, flying shipments to and from Nicaragua.

He appeared on "outsider truth" shows like Coast to Coast to promote the theories in his books that 9/11 was an "inside job," the result of a plot between the US government and the Saudis.

From his author bio on Createspace.com, Amazon.com's self-publishing service:

Philip Marshall, a veteran airline captain and former government "special activities" contract pilot, has authored three books on Top Secret America, a group presently conducting business as the United States Intelligence Community.

Beginning with his role in the 1980s as a Learjet captain first as part of a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) sting on Pablo Escobar, and later in the covert arming of the Nicaraguan Contras, Marshall has studied and written 30-years worth of covert government special activities and the revolving door of Wall Street tricksters, media moguls, and their well funded politicians.

I am unable to confirm the veracity of the claims in his self-authored bio at this time.

A Facebook page for "The Big Bamboozle" showed posts as recent as January 31 with titles like, "WHAT IS THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY HIDING?," "THE ARAB WORLD KNOWS THE RAID WAS A HOAX," and posts about the Bin Laden assassination having been faked.

"PICTURES PAINT A THOUSAND WORDS," read one such Facebook post from Marshall about photographs of the assassinated Al Qaeda leader. "Since bin Laden died in 2001, these would be "alleged" photos of bin Laden. Give us a break."

He once also pitched those theories to a television news journalist with whom this blogger is acquainted.

A young friend of the two slain teens with whom this blogger is personally acquainted described them as "sweet, funny, lively, good kids."

A tweet from Macaila on January 25:

Would it be wrong if I threw my cat with his claws retracted at my dads face right now?... #pissoff— Macaila Marshall (@MacailaMarshall) January 25, 2013

Photos from the siblings' Instagram feeds suggest that they were outgoing, well-liked by friends, and loved one another very much. In one, Macaila is in the hospital after a "golf cart accident," with her father sitting in the background.

In the last self-portrait she posted on January 28, her brother blows a hair dryer at her while she goofs in the mirror.

"I pretty much just wanted to say how great of a big brother you are," Macaila writes to her brother in another Instagram caption, "I love you so much!"

A family photo Instagrammed by Alex shows the boy at a much younger age.

In it, he is helping his father mow the lawn with a toy lawnmower.

In an interview that Phil did with Coast 2 Coast's John B. Wells, Marshall discussed his sadness over a fellow pilot's death on 9-11 at Shanksville, PA.

This and other statements regarding his 9-11 investigation and book wouldn't lead one to perceive the "suicide and murder" of his children, dog and himself in his future.

I think they were all murdered.

We should all be livid. Stop acting like docile, mentally castrated pussies and grow a pair. It's time to get in their face. Why should we speak in hushed tones and act all polite when we are being raped every day?

Excellent, thank you and welcome! :)

Very interesting and good to see this hasn't been forgotten.

I doubt they killed him over his 9/11 musings.

None of that hasn't been discussed over and over again by countless others and I don't think he was all that accurate about his suspicions anyway. I mean, it wasn't the Saudis and even if it was it's not like he's the one who started that rumour.

But yeah, the thing about the dog. And the ring. Crazy. Interesting information from those claiming to be close friends of his.

From the quote:

Graham headed a 2002 joint congressional inquiry into the attacks and has claimed he was muzzled into silence about his committee’s findings in 2002 by former Vice President Dick Cheney and other top members of the Bush intelligence community....

I've never done any reading about that specifically (I'm going to now), but what if that is true? Was the *Senator* "muzzled"? And if he was, why isn't this discussed more? All this is, of course, complicated by the fact that there are no real journalists or reporters any more.

What if Phillip Marshall had documents no one else has?

If Phillip Marshall was a threat does the NDAA authorize his assassination?

The more reading I do about this case the more questions arise.

During the editing and pre-marketing process of Marshall’s book, he expressed some degree of paranoia because the nonfiction work accused the George W. Bush administration of being in cahoots with the Saudi intelligence community in training the hijackers who died in the planes used in the attacks.

“Think about this,” Marshall said last year in a written statement, “The official version about some ghost (Osama bin Laden) in some cave on the other side of the world defeating our entire military establishment on U.S. soil is absolutely preposterous.”

Agreed.

a coordinated training operation that prepared the hijackers to fly heavy commercial airliners. We have dozens of FBI documents to prove that this flight training was conducted California, Florida and Arizona in the 18 months leading up to the attack.”

[sic] I am 100 percent convinced that a covert team of Saudi intelligence agents was the source of logistical, financial and tactical resources that directed essential flight training to the 9/11 hijackers for 18 months before the attack,” Marshall wrote.

1) 0:38:12-0:38:34 - Hijackers came to LA Jan 15, 2000 and were tracked by FBI for 18 months, most of that time during the last year of Clinton's administration.

2) 1:09:54-1:10:56 - Marshall's info connections that remain in the spook world; has to be very careful about [discussing] that

3) 1:10:57-1:11:46 - secretive airbase: lucrative parts market; various other points of interest through 1:20:42.

4) 2:16:40-2:17:09 - speaks highly of Obama and Holder

I get the impression at the 4th listed timestamp coordinates above that Marshall was a Democrat. Also, from his seeming Clinton-amnesia re: the majority of the 18 month period he stresses more than once concerning FBI tracking of the alleged hijackers from their January 15, 2000 point of entry here, referenced at the 1st of the listed timestamp coordinates. The 2nd of the listed timestamp coordinates is where I think he may have been targeted with a hit. Of course, he may have had other info that whoever wanted to squelch but I haven't seen or heard anything highly controversial from him about 9/11. Of particular interest to me, as a 9/11 No Planer, is the lucrative plane parts market info at the 3rd listed timestamp coordinates.

From this and a few other articles I’ve found on the net I’ve compiled a few questions....

What the American people (and the people of Calaveras County) deserve are honest, intelligent answers.

1. Did the detectives that offered the “sleeping on a couch” theory comment on an active investigation? If not what were they doing there.

2. Were they “local” deputies?

3. What are the names, specifically, of the deputies that advanced the ‘sleeping on a couch’ theory?

The theory:
a) dog killed in the bedroom,
b) children killed while sleeping on the couch.

4. Can the coroner comment on an active investigation? The coroner debunked the deputies’ theory, offering new one. Says it’s a good question as to whether whether or not they may have been drugged because they “appear to have been sleeping”.

5. How does the coroner determine whether or not a corpse had been sleeping before being killed and also acknowledge that a 9 mm glock firing may have awakened one or the other of them?

The coroner apparently has been able to dial in the time of death. How does one dial in the time of waking up from a gun shot?

In fact as long as we appear to be struggling to make a little sense here, who was most likely killed first, the dog or the people?

6. Are they doing ballistics tests on the bullets fired? Do the bullets in the victims (possibly including the dad) match the weapon found in the house?

7. Will this investigation be handled competently? If the guy looking for work down at EDD can do a better job, why not save a few bucks and replace those who can’t.

8. According to this article, Calloway said the Sheriffs themselves at least at one point had a question as to whether or not this was a triple murder (after the initial deputies’ theory). So, did the Sheriffs call Calloway to ask her opinion on whether this was a murder-suicide or a triple murder or did they not?

I ask anyone who has the moral fortitude and inner strength to come forward to his defense. If he and his children were murdered, please do not let his/their death be in vain. Please.

This was designed to give these traitors a protected-zone to supposedly bring in troops (UN-NATO or otherwise), to do what they cannot do without this CRIMINALLY-ENFORCED-TREASON. This way they can have full control of all the ports and all the major cities near what used to be the borders of the United States.

This is indeed TREASON. These bums have no authority to do this to anyone. It would be right and just to resist them to the fullest capacity that we are able. ;)

I don't understand? Why aren't people trying to arrest the sheriff and his deputies? Seriously. They are covering up a murder. That means they are guilty themselves for all we know they pulled the trigger... maybe they didn't one thing is for sure, they did not investigate this crime properly.

Go to there homes, intercept them as they drop off their kids to school, pick them up at the barber BUT ARREST THE LEOs that cover up this crime by claiming murder.

Arrest them.

There is afoot, a new Secessionist movement. I figure, though, that it will go down to defeat. The only way to fight them is by a guerilla war. This would be tough to do, but remember, they did it in Red Dawn, the movie, and were successful. ;)

Second hour of Phillip Marshall on Coast 2 Coast 9/9/12

Poor audio quality, missing first hour. At least the date is established. Nothing really new here, just posting for the record.

I have locked facebook out of my computer (127.0.0.1) so I can't research the pages Captain Marshall talks about, maybe someone here is a member and can see what is there.

Also, now that the date of the 2nd interview is known, maybe someone can find the first hour. Just trying to clarify if Phillip Marshall said what was posted in #112 above:

9-11 Attack & Terrorism Threats - Shows - Coast to Coast AM

Date: 09-08-12

Host: John B. Wells

Guests: Robert Gleason, Philip Marshall

In the first half, veteran airline captain Philip Marshall revealed the connections between the 9/11 hijackers and the Saudi Arabian intelligence community. Lead investigator of the Congressional Joint Inquiry, Senator Bob Graham, uncovered such a relationship and has filed a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia for their role in the attack, Marshall said. The hijackers were in contact with Saudi Arabian aviation experts, he continued, adding that "none of the official evidence mentions any kind of role by bin Laden and al-Qaeda." Marshall dismissed theories that the Pentagon was struck by a missile, though he acknowledged that the incredible speed at which the plane was traveling (480 knots) would have made it sound and even appear like a missile attack. Photographic evidence shows Boeing engine turbines inside the Pentagon, as well as wing fairings and other metallic wreckage with American Airline's paint job, he noted. There is no doubt that American Flight 77 hit the Pentagon, Marshall stated.

He spoke about the extraordinary skill required to pilot a Boeing 757 at high speeds at low altitude, and to navigate the aircraft to a single building from 270 miles away (distance when hijackers took over the plane). Marshall said he attempted the Washington DC attack himself in a simulator and, despite his 20 years of experience flying Boeing airliners and 15,000 hours of flight time, it took him four tries to hit the Pentagon. "To suggest that this was the first time that guy had ever flown a 757 is absolutely impossible," he stressed. According to Marshall, the 9/11 hijackers were tailed by the FBI from the moment they landed in Los Angeles on January 12, 2000. They learned to fly on small aircraft and simulators then, after George W. Bush became president, started disappearing into the Arizona desert for days at a time, he disclosed. Marshall believes the hijackers were trained at a CIA-operated airport, Pinal Air Park, by a Saudi group from an aviation charter that operated Boeing aircraft. He connected the people in charge of Pinal to Wall Street and ultimately to Dick Cheney, and suggested that President Bush knew enough not to scramble fighters to intercept the hijackers.

There's no reason for Patriots to secede. It's our nation and our Constitution, not the plunder of the Treasonous. They have seceded from our Constitutional Republic and system of government.

Lod says that only Texas can legally secede because it is written into their Constitution.

I do see your point, though. It IS our government and we should take it back from the plundering banksters who have stolen it from us. ;)

finally something new worth posting-

"rainbowsally", posting at santabarbaraview.com has dug up some stuff at waynemadsenreport.com that sits behind a pay wall- here's an excerpt:

February 15-17, 2013 -- Sacramento, CA -- Philip Marshall: A black ops hit made to appear as a suicide Philip Marshall, the retired United Airlines pilot, 9/11 analysis author, and one-time Iran-contra era associate of CIA/DEA informant Barry Seal, did not shoot his two teen-age children and himself. That is the conclusion of everyone who knew Marshall after he moved to the Sierra Nevadas community of Murphys ten years ago after he sold his home in Santa Barbara.

Friends said Marshall was looking for more seclusion. Marshall, who believed that the Bush family, allied with Saudi and neo-conservative interests, pulled off the 9/11 attack to engineer a government coup d'etat, was working on a fourth book that promised to reveal some new blockbuster information. Neighbors and friends of Marshall contradicted a number of Calaveras County Sheriff's Department findings about what they quickly concluded was a murder-suicide by a crazed killer. Furthermore, one close professional colleague of Marshall believed a federal "black ops" team prevailed upon the Sheriff's Department to come up with the rapid murder-suicide explanation.

WMR learned from a local media source in Calaveras County that the Sheriff Gary Kuntz is dragging his feet on providing local newspapers with two critical reports: the toxicological report on Marshall's and his son's and daughter's bodies and the GSR (Gunshot Residue) report on the bullets fired from what was reported to be Marshall's 9 mm Glock, which neighbors reported was never loaded. Marshall's body was found at the end of a long hallway leading from the unusually unlocked front door. Neighbors said that if Marshall was responding to a suspicious entry, he would have grabbed his gun from the kitchen and gone toward the door. Neighbors believe that Marshall was shot as he turned into the hallway from the kitchen, which is off the living room space where his children were found shot to death on separate portions of a sectional couch.

In addition to the crime scene being investigated by unknown personnel after it was opened to the public, neighbors noticed that a side door of the Marshall home at 1259 Sandalwood Drive in the gated community of Forest Meadows, near Murphys, was unlocked and ajar. Neighbors stated that the door was never opened and hardly used. The Sheriff also stated that no gunshots were heard by neighbors on the evening of January 31 or early morning of February 1 because the houses are far apart. In fact, the houses are extremely close together and one neighbor stated she could "hear Phil whistling from inside his house." Police immediately denied that a silencer or other noise suppression device could have been used in the four shootings that included single shots each to Marshall, son Alex, daughter Macaila, and Shih-tzu dog "Suki," the latter found in a bedroom. One neighbor reported hearing an unusual noise during the evening of January 31, a Thursday.

Two of the above are press releases from the sheriffs’ dept. and one is kept out of the mainstream for unknown reasons.

But the purpose of this post is to demonstrate that it is possible to see this ‘investigation’ in two different lights.

You’re going to have to get out and PUSH a little, Murphy. The mud is pretty deep here. This goes back to at least the anti-war days… not just Cheney/Bush. (Ctrl-F and find “Kevin Moran” on this page.)

I have finally had time to start to carefully read Phillips blog at

It's well worth reading-I'll post some important paragraphs later.

It makes more sense that he and his kids were killed than him going crazy. I don't think he really had any revealing information about 9/11 though, he just thought he did. The Saudi connection to 9/11 is really only there to point the finger of blame at them if the truth starts to come out instead of the real perpetrators of 9/11, Israel and the Mossad/CIA. The planners of 9/11 thought things out very well. They have many ways to avoid being seen as the culprits even if people figure out it was an "inside job."

There is no doubt that American Flight 77 hit the Pentagon, Marshall stated.

Epic fail.

Even Rummy said it was a missile; though more likely a drone of some sort.

Just more of the Dov-zio magic worked on that horrific day.

Whatever damaged the Pentagon that day, the evidence is that there was no move at any time to go to DEFCON 1 - imminent attack; attack in-process.

Even though Marshall suggests that the alleged hijackers received Boeing pilot training and Boeing flying experience at Pinal, that doesn't do much to explain the Pentagon strike-scenario manuevers. Whether those maneuvers were rehearsed beforehand a number of times on a flight simulator or in the air at the risk of malfunction, for each practice attempt the presumption would have to be, imo, that no Military interference and no flight path diversion was assured.

Edited last sentence for clarity.

Wayne Madsen is now on AJ's program.

That "plane" flew for how long after they knew something was terribly wrong?

Not a single picture of that plane released to the public except for the gas station video that doesn't really show a plane? People had cameras on cell phones then. Not a single picture taken by cell phone?

The most secured airspace and the most secured building in the world, and not a single photo of the plane in flight.

Not sure if Phillip Marshall's entire theory should be thrown out just because he thinks a plane hit the pentagon. Maybe it did. There are good arguments for it after all (I.E. the picture of the "turbine" in the wreckage but the lack of photographs is just utterly unbelievable.

Was listening to the Alex Jones show with Madsen but it shut off. On a sidenote, it's weird how big alternative media sites like Alex Jones', Veterans Today and others are apparently dropping the ball deliberately on exposing Sandy Hook as a PsyOp charade by their seeming deflection from the evidence that Adam Lanza died before the supposed shooting.

Edited sentence 1.

Checking with Amazon, The Big Bamboozle, using Prime can be delivered here for $11.68.

As much stuff as I order through Amazon, the annual fee for Prime (which means free shipping) is a bargain.

A great benefit of my olde WinXP machine croaking was plugging in the iMac OS X (purchased spring '11) and for some reason connecting at twice the speed of the XP, instant-on for iHeart radio, and all the other internet broadcasts that I listen to.

It really is amazing.

The Big Bamboozle,

Apparently he was working on a new book.

Hopefully someone can find the manuscripts. That might be interesting.

His argument for bringing Kalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM) to trial is very convincing. I think he was shining light on things that were long overlooked or covered up and it just might have made a difference.

The excerpts on his blog are rational, fact packed and not widely discussed.

I don't think for one second this man killed his kids. This is a crime of the highest order. The more one looks into this the more questions arise.

That alone makes me think this guy is either a moron, or is a disinfo agent himself. If he is a disinfo agent, it is possible he and his kids weren't really killed and that he is living undercover somewhere else now.

If you actually read the excerpts from his blog here
http://thebigbamboozle.tumblr.com/
you can see he's not a moron. Far from it. He is very well educated. And, I'd assume that holding Captain ratings in 727,737,747,757 and 767 means he had quite a bit of psychological evaluation.

I'm pretty sure the funeral for his kids wasn't faked.

Hundreds turned out at The Bret Harte Union High School in Angels Camp, CA to remember Alex and Macaila Marshall, both former San Marcos High School students. Alex and Macaila were killed in the double murder, suicide involving former Hope Ranch pilot and author, Phillip Marshall. Alex and Macaila’s aunt delivered the eulogy while their mom, Sean Marshall, closed the ceremony with emotional remarks. “Being in Turkey and getting the news, it was almost unbearable,” she said. “When I heard of this devastation, there are no words ever to explain the emotions, the hurt, the regrets. I couldn’t hear God at that moment. I couldn’t hear his answers why, why would you do this? Why them? Why me?” Sean concluded, “Hug everyone, love everyone, be kind.”
