Two women delivering newspapers in a blue Toyota Tacoma truck in Torrance, California were shot in manhunt for ex-cop. What does this crime have to do with Dorner's crime? .... Anybody? Could you reasonably expect to use this defense if you were to shoot up your neighborhood? Cities have burned for less than this.

I think it just shows that the cops are trigger happy and will shoot whoever is handy when they get the urge to send someone to their reward.
