It's that time Folks.

As we chug along into the new year let us give thanks to frivolous wars, cheerleading neocon columnists, Ben Bernanke (God bless him), subprime real estate lending, undocumented immigrants that perform miracles with a hedge trimmer, Wal*Mart and every thing else that makes America great. And we should give special recognition to the forum bot at various TOS's (we seem to be low on them here, though the jury is still out on Dakmar - jk :) So let's elect a BOTY and heap inordinate amounts of shame and decrease their standing in their community to the point where small children throw rocks at them.

I nominate Badeye for "Steam Powered Spambot of the Year". That guy sometimes does over two hundred postings a day on LP. Yes, that's right, over two hundred postings a day. All premium grade boterrific botspam, all day, Monday through Friday. All that malice hiding behind a rictus (grin). Bot on, Badeye, bot on...

Gold and silver are real money, paper is but a promise.

I was getting ready to nominate Ghost of Quantrill again but he appears to have either been banned or voluntarily retired from LP.

Check out my new site (Coral Snake's Guns, Linux and Liberty Blog))

And I'm optimistic. See, I think you can be realistic and optimistic at the same time. I'm optimistic we'll achieve -- I know we won't achieve if we send mixed signals. I know we're not going to achieve our objective if we send mixed signals - gwbush

I was going to say badeye until I found this little gem:

35. To: bluewater boats (#30)

"George W's legacy..."

1. Completed the fastest, most effective military advance in military history.
2. Defeated the 4th or 5th largest military in the world in quick fashion.
3. Freed 30 million people from abject tyranny.
4. Deposed one of the most ruthless tyrants of the last fifty years, along with his Ba'athist party.
5. Destroyed all attempts by the remaining Ba'athists and their terrorist allies to regain the upper hand, killing the tyrant's two sons and capturing him in the process.
6. Secured the vast majority of the nation and handed sovereignty back to the Iraqi people on schedule.
7. Held the 2nd largest, freest vote in Iraqi history to vote on their own interim government, in the face of and despite terrorist attempts to thwart and disrupt that process.
8. Had the interim Iraqi government develop and introduce a republican constitution on schedule, in the face of and despite terrorist attempts to thwart and disrupt that process.
9. Held the largest free vote in Iraqi history to approve the constitution that the interim government proposed, with even the Sunni minority now participating in that vote, in the face of and despite terrorist attempts to thwart and disrupt that process.
10. Assisted the Iraqis themselves in putting the former tyrant on trial for his crimes.
11. Are preparing for what will undoubtedly be the new largest vote in Iraqi history to elect their own government under their new constitution, again, in the face of and despite terrorist attempts to thwart and disrupt that process.
12. Trained an Iraqi military that is now actively taking major support and lead roles in fighting for their own free nation against their terrorist enemies, losing many more of their own lives, and spilling more of their own blood in that process than our own soldiers.

13. Responsible for the deaths of 3000 Americans by ignoring intelligence advice for 9/11. 14. Responsible for several hundred if not thousands of American deaths in New Orleans and the loss of entire American city by diverting funds and manpower needed to secure that city from flooding. 15. Responsible for hiring armies of cronies who give no bid contracts to their own companies. 16. Responsible for pushing treaties that devastate this country economically and impoverish our workforce. 17. Responsible for the biggest deficit in - American history? - that threatens to eventually bankrupt the country 18. Responsible for the largest growth of government programs and bureaucracies in decades (manned by those same cronies in #15). 19. Responsible for reducing the freedoms and liberties of his fellow citizens through the Patriot Act. 20. Responsible for keeping the borders of this country wide open, especially after the 9/11 attack, and allowing countless millions of illegal aliens to pour into our country, using our resources.

That's enough typing for now, although I hate to think I've omitted anything from the Bush "legacy".

Here's something. You can always see the bots coming, and here's the best way to pick them out.

They always start on the first of the month. Seriously. It's as if they've been moved to a department that oversees Internet activity.

Then they do the job, and they post non-stop. When they finally stop, see how long they were actively posting. Sometimes it's 6 months. Sometimes a year. Sometimes longer, but it always begins or ends on the first of the month.

So many morons, so few bullets.
