it is certainly not too soon to make a list.

you're gonna make a list, huh?

what are you gonna do to the people on your list?

Why are you attributing that quote to me?

I did not write that.

I would not make a list.

I think List making, in this regard, is a bad idea.

Unless one thinks a DA might show leniency for having their job made easy.

Not to come off sounding like a dick, but you need to pay more attention to the stuff your quoting when you go to quote.

That stuff about list making. I did not write that.... Now you can scroll up to read wake ups words for yourself... but you always had that option. You did not need me to inform you of that nor give you permission.

Just scroll up.

Oh shit, egg on my face you can't!

My bad, My apoligies, I am sorry about that.

You can not read wake up words because they are from the 88+ emails .....

Anyways, the shit I put in italics was a quote from another.

I have a mother. She was wise enough to teach me never to commit anything to paper or print that I would not have the whole world read. So yeah.

When discussing a poster, titorite, the polite thing to do is to ping them. Putting something in the quote section of a public post and attributing it to private e-mail is proof of nothing contextual or actual authorship either. To anyone not privy to an alleged copy, it amounts to hearsay and so there is always the question then that it could be an alteration or entirely fabricated. Anything attributed to someone without their permission being given publicly prior further increases those possibilities. The only things demonstrable from that are issues like breach of trust, impaired judgement -- that sort of thing.

What I originally quoted in italics was hear say.

Done. I've no problem referring to it as such. That aside-

It is generally accepted here that if you put something in italics and up front that it is a "quote" .

And lead.and.lag has been on my ass like a douche for awhile....and I did ping wake up originally. Along with many others....

And I've no concern for the rest.

I think the accepted protocol is that something italicized in a quote is verfiable in an accessible article, at a site, or in an open forum post -- like that.

I did ping wake up originally. Along with many others....

You might have thought you pinged him in this thread but you didn't. Nor would he even get a ping if spelled like that with a space in his screename. It's one word, all lowercase letters.

My understanding is that proper use of PMs means not pinging people into private group-discussions who prefer not to be so contacted and that moving a private discussion of a topic to a public forum does not mean the session(s) become public property nor that all aspects are suitable for transference. Proper protocol as I see it [from a private to public setting] means to speak for yourself only without speaking of others as involved at all or attributing any words/opinions to someone that they have not posted publicly themselves. Respect the privacy of others and don't presume it's ok to act like a ventriloquist for context or corroboration.

Edited an apostrophe error and to insert the bracketed section.

Grey.... I am sorry to of offended you... I clearly see I have.

It's not a matter of offending me personally. There are issues I'm concerned about, such as I've mentioned. Also, that people who choose not to post on the board but to participate in discussions and comaraderie as a group member through e-mail will find their options and input closed out by this more to mostly observer status or singular exchanges only. Maybe not but it's a possible consequence, even if it wasn't intended, and a high price for them, if so, for us to learn PM protocols on the fly.

All I can say is I'm sorry.

I saw others moving stuff to the public side and all the talk of less private messages filling up our boxes and more call for public conversation... Under the circumstances I did not presume it to be a taboo.

Especially since nothing we were talking about was dirty. I did post commentary of others without asking permission first. This much is true. I was in the process of responding in one spot and then did so elsewhere. Lead.and.Lag promptly snared me over triviality. A train soon formed. And I am left defending the position of speaking out against tyranny.... I had hoped the message in the words would of been the topic of conversation much more so then the messenger of those words.

I will endeavor to do even better.

In my opinion, this isn't about having to defend the position of speaking out against tyranny. It's about proper presentation, trust, respect, erroneous presumptions, reckless endangerment and other possible ramifications -- things like that. Your apology [and pledge of bettering endeavors are good steps]. Everybody makes mistakes. I hope you understand better now about PM protocols but still seem unclear that asserting commentary in a post here as being from a PM of someone else is an unprovable claim by your word alone. I don't want to belabor the issue but hope you will understand that too.

Edited for the bracketed section.

..I did not think it a big deal given the circumstances of the conversation... I would not call it erroneous. ...Nor disrespectful.... nor endangering...

This continues to boggle me.

It is boggling me because I feel like I did nothing wrong. (aside from not asking permission) I did not quote anyone out of context in an effort to malign them...and they weren't maligned!

I have been called to bear a cross for doing what.... what we were talking about doing in the first place?

...............

And nobody was endangered.

Reckless endangerment is too much.

No body has been put in physical harms risk.

The treat level for cyber snooping is certainly the same yesterday as it will be tomorrow. Given the subject matter we go on about here.

And the argument of pointing attention can not be valid as all the attention seems to be pointed at me ... I wish the attention was about the words I wrote .... About being free... about getting smaller parts of the system to acknowledge the broken larger parts of the system. About doing something postive and productive in a proper and powerful manner.....

and I have utterly and completely failed.

for the love of god no body need rub that in.
