As all should now be able to see, 4um has a new look. The gist of everything is in place but there will be further tweaking of the look in the coming days. The software is being specifically redesigned to work with style sheets (css). This will allow fine tuning of fonts to the preference of the forum owner, which was hardcoded into the software previously. That work will be on-going. Enjoy!

check your screen resolution, Foti. it should be at 1024x768. it will fit perfectly without the L/R scroll then.

Thanks for all the hard work sprucing up this site. The background color is a lot easier on the eyes than the old WHITE, and I already feel a lot more at home with the informal patriotic graphics theme. Y'all got class! - r.
*blush* i just checked my resolution. i had it way up there. i just changed it to 1152x864 and it makes a big difference. in IE, the poster comments are still smaller than the taglines, but the article titles on LC are fine. in firefox, everything looks good.

If you have a mouse with wheel you can adjust font size inside browser by holding down Control Key and wheeling up or down. Neil, I'm using Firefox and cannot see the entire page unless I close the sidebar, which I use a lot and don't really want to have to close to keep from having to scroll l/r when I come here. Looks great otherwise, I'm glad to see the return of the underlined link.

You may want to up the res on your monitor and see if that doesn't lose the scroll necessity.

I'll second that. To me things were fine just the way they were. Nice art work, but people don't come here for art work.

Very nice job, Neil. I really like the new look. Understated, but very attractive.
Love the redesign. I have only one suggestion. The article titles need to be a color to offset them more from the information text under them. May I suggest dark olive green (as in the brush stroke under the logo)?

Well hopefully you'll adjust to it.. we wanted to make 4 asthetically pleasing and easy on the eye .. unlike the bright white it was.. and wanted to not look like a retread of other forums..
In IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > General > Accessibility, where you check "Ignore colors specified on Web pages."

To: Neil McIver, ALL (#0) As you navigate, you'll see some things that need tweaking as far as font size and color. It's a work in progress but we were anxious for everyone to see the new logo and art! The design was a joint effort by Zipporah and me, however, we hired a local webdesigner, Chalant Print, who also designed my Bring 'Em Home site, to do the work. Neil is the one who is integrating and implementing it all. Thanks, Neil, for all your effort. Zip and I are very pleased.
