Holidays are state sanctioned Holy Days, study your goddamned etymology! :) I'm glad I went up to my brothers and gluttoned today, I was getting really jaded.
And I'm optimistic. See, I think you can be realistic and optimistic at the same time. I'm optimistic we'll achieve -- I know we won't achieve if we send mixed signals. I know we're not going to achieve our objective if we send mixed signals - gwbush
We managed not to overdo it at my place. The turkey was way too big for six people, but I don't think much will end up going to waste by the time we do the turkey shepherd's pie tonight.
I'm still jaded, or filled with pure evil or something. All I remember now about last Thursday is screaming children and maniacal cadillacs for jesus cars trying to pass/kill me in bumper to bumper traffic on the drive up.

We used to try and drive to relatives for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas holidays. It is always miserable and dangerous. The past few years my wife tries to set it up and I veto the idea out of hand. I stay home, relax and enjoy myself.
