GRANT COUNTY, Ind. - A man mowing grass in Grant County was found dead after his tractor fell into a farm pond.

The man, who was not identified, was mowing a piece of land near the pond Wednesday night when his tractor got too close to the edge, conservation officers said.

After the man didn't return home that night, family members searched the property but couldn't find him, so they called police.

Conservation officers found tractor tracks over a steep bank down to the farm pond. A Department of Natural Resources diver found the man's body in the pond.

Golly, if only the federal government would mandate breathalyzer lock-outs for lawnmowers this tragedy could have been averted. Come to think of it, I got a nasty pinch one time using a can opener. At work, no less. Where was OSHA?

There !

We should all be livid. Stop acting like docile, mentally castrated pussies and grow a pair. It's time to get in their face. Why should we speak in hushed tones and act all polite when we are being raped every day?

He was no doubt pushed into the pond by terriers. They've done it before.

One of the thrills of my younger days was shredding a pasture with a pond and getting too close to the water-line on the dam.

Damn! we slud down 'till just the exhaust pipe was above water...I ran to the house, called a neighbor who came and pulled it all out, diesel engine still running.

Off to the nearest car wash (three miles away) on the shoulder slinging mud all along the way to clean'er up.

When my parents got home, they thanked me for shredding and washing the tractor so well.

Forty years later, that old Massey-Ferguson is still on the family farm.

When Americans built their own products.

Indeed.

It cost about five bucks, in quarters, to get it all cleaned up; but it looked great when I got back home.

I was so close to tipping over, I cannot tell ya.
