Title: Poll: 29% Think Armed Rebellion Might Soon Be Necessary

Gun dealer Mel Bernstein takes down an AK-47 assault rifle from a sales rack at his own Dragonman's shooting range and gun store, east of Colorado Springs, Colo., on Feb. 5, 2013.

Three in 10 registered American voters believe an armed rebellion might be necessary in the next few years, according to the results of a staggering poll released Wednesday by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind.

The survey, aimed at measuring public attitudes toward gun issues, found that 29 percent of Americans agree with the statement, “In the next few years, an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties.” An additional five percent were unsure.

Eighteen percent of Democrats said an armed revolt “might be necessary,” as compared to 27 percent of independents and 44 percent of Republicans. Support levels were similar among males and females but higher among less educated voters.

The poll also found that 25 percent of voters believe the American public is being lied to about the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting by people seeking to promote a political agenda. An additional 11 percent said they weren’t sure.

The eye-opening findings serve as a reminder that Americans’ deeply held beliefs about gun rights have a tendency to cross over into outright conspiracy theories about a nefarious government seeking to trample the Second Amendment — paranoia that pro-gun groups like the National Rifle Association have at times helped stoke. The data help explain why even the most modest gun safety laws face tremendous, intense opposition.

The poll, conducted between April 22-28, surveyed 863 randomly selected registered voters across the country and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points. (3 images)

That is why the Police State Apparatus is being built up so fast. I am sure that the psychometric models that the Spooks/FedGov use have long ago shown that this was building. That is the why for a multitude of things e.g., attempting to brand all Patriots as "terrist's".

After all a true Patriot is loyal to his country always and to his government only when they merit it.

Very encouraging news. It's good to know that we have plenty of company. :)

They certainly seem to be worried about something. Even in laid back Eugene, Oregon the police and other agencies seem to be more and more military-like in look and operation.

One thing people need to realize is that they just don't know how fast things can turn south and life for all of us can chnge for the worse. If there is a crackdown, it will come at a fast and furious rate, and won't hit in thee full light of day.

An unbiased American would acknowledge that Bush Cheney went out of their way to undermine liberty. And, yet if another neokahn fascist toady were elected those 44% of Republicans who see armed revolution as inevitable would find little or no fault with the continuation of Bush Cheney by another team of treasury raiding GOP blue suits.

It's just like the inexplicable fact that Americans despise and distrust their govt but they re-elect their rep and two senators again and again. Presumably all other congressional delegations are part of the problem.

And, the same Republicans who view Obama as the greatest threat fail to grasp that virtually every rep and senator voted for the AWB (after leadership leaned on them) except for the select few in tight races in heavily pro gun districts who "couldn't risk forfeiting the power of incumbency" by voting for the bill.

Bill Roth (of ROTH IRA infamy) voted for the military lookalike and extended mag ban while voting against drilling in the ANWR. So, he chose to appease our largest daily paper by playing the RINO, giving AK Sen. Ted Stevens a quick wink. (because Roth did his worst to assure that the "drill until she bleeds" bill had enough votes to pass)

When I asked why Roth voted for the ban he had one of his stooges send me a letter that explained, "....because of all the carnage caused by assault weapons....blah blah", and I explained to the NRA that I won't quarrel with the way they run their top down-ruled association but they weren't going to do it with my money. They replied with a hand scribbled-in-ink letter saying, "We stand by our ratings!" (They gave Roth a "C" with an asterisk that read, "This is not necessarily a passing grade". Unbelievable. Then 6 years later Roth was back up to an "A" even though he'd done nothing for gun owners between elections".

The NRA is a GOP front org that supplies Kwik & Reddy Kash to obvious fair weather friend incumbents instead of funding pro 2A challengers that want to unseat hypocritical sellouts like Roth. The name of the NRA game is to keep the GOP in the highest number of seniority seats, regardless of their true views about the RTKBA.

Someday NRA members will receive action alerts that read, "Stop Chelsea from taking our 2A guaranteed single shot .22s and air rifles! And for $1000 we'll send you this snazzy NRA ball cap and windbreaker...."

The GOP will fight to guarantee our "right to keep and bear" pricey, gilded, double barreled Perazzi wabbit guns. But who needs AR 15s or any of their numerous variants? After all, the 2nd Amendment only guarantees the national guard's right to hunt ducks on weekend warrior duty, or something like that...

Apparently, if true, only 3% of the American Colonials joined the Rebels to defeat the British.

29%.......the FEDERALIES and their alphabet agencies are shaking in their boots, but EFF them, NWA was right.
