I'm fixated on his right arm. He has something tied at the elbow and something under the shirt there.

Looking at his left shoulder and under his left armpit it almost seems like his blazer or suit jacket was blown off him; or that he parachuted in for his performance.

Exactly.

There's no way to rip clothes like that by hand. Most people when they think about explosive blasts only know what they see in movies. There's a concussion effect which you do NOT see in movies, and that is what tears off clothes.
