Before puking the keyboard, I bailed at 3:22 of monkeys on parade.

Dear God, we are so screwed...merciful shiite.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken

"There's a sucker born every minute, and a man to take him every five ..." P.T. Barnum

Barnum was an optimist.

Perseverent Gardener
"“Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings - that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide.” ~ Gautama Siddhartha — The Buddha

A very apt description of the goobers starring in that one.

Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.

dear god....

Indeed. A friend of mine, one I used to drive long haul with a long time ago, would say "That's just sad." If someone did something especially stupid like pass us and then almost cut the bumper off of the truck pulling back in, Jerry didn't say "that was stupid." He would just shake his head and say "That was sad." And that is what he would say about the folks in that video.

Barnum was an optimist.

He lived in a time where he could be somewhat optimistic. If he were living today he would revise his statement to a sucker born every five seconds.

Nor do I and neither did the founders. That is why they never instituted any such government, but a constitutional republic.
