Sounds familiar ...
But it doesn't look familiar ... where are all the upward and outward explosive clouds in this one?
Ah well, just another day in emotional fantasyland for most of the nation.
Which didn't have a damned thing to do with the implosion of said buildings. They were designed to take a hit from a plane just about the size of those that hit them and the engineer who designed them said that the effect would be like poking a pencil through a screen door.
Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.
They were engineered to survive the impact of two 707s, then the largest commercial airliner in service.
The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. ~ H. L. Mencken
Several hundred miles per hour? Try 540 mph, (NTSB's numbers) brainiac. Know what amuses me? Douchbags who try to tell me exactly how it happened without having done any research at all. How's that kool-aid taste? Kinda douchie?
Amen. The WTC collapse occurred under a variety of fairly unique conditions: among the world's tallest buildings, hit broadside by jets at full speed in an upper floor, the design of the building was considerably less dense than (e.g.) the Empire State Bldg (which had been hit headon by a small prop plane in 1945), etc. etc. When the WTC was built in the 1970s it was designed to withstand (hopefully) a collision with a much smaller jet - lighter and less fast.
What we have had is a bunch of craftsmen commenting on things outside their particular expertise. Architects and commercial demolition people - it seems that they're experts but they never dealt with a situation like this, which is not surprising because I wonder if there ever had been a situation quite like this.
A couple of false reports: Contrary to conspiracy theorists' claims, the WTC buildings did not "fall in their own footprint" - they fell downward, yes, but the debris scattered widely. For example, the Deutschebank accross the street was completely blocked off. Also, the story that debris fell "faster than free fall" - doesn't happen even in commercial demolition; actual measurement showed considerably slower than free fall. Nobody bothered approaching real experts and asking "If you got the contract to do it, how would you demolish the WTC?" Professionals would have done it differently and the final result would look different.
Simple fact, people saw two planes hit the buildings. The second plane was filmed and televised from dozens of different angles. Some conspiracy theorists want to pretend now these weren't planes; they were some kind of hologram - that even now (12 years later) hasn't been shown to exist, and they cannot explain what happened to the passengers if it weren't planes hitting the buildings.
Anti-semitism, ol' buddy. Never correct a tribe member, the NSA does not approve.
On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.
Godfrey Smith: Mike, I wouldn't worry. Prosperity is just around the corner. Mike Flaherty: Yeah, it's been there a long time. I wish I knew which corner. My Man Godfrey (1936)
The cheering at the end was just like the Israelis caught filming it did when the towers collapsed on 9/11, except they were much louder and much happier.
I almost stepped on a turtle a while back. Those that live in hollow shells with the front door always open should be careful who they call a crackpot.
Twin Towers' Designers Anticipated Jet Impacts Like September 11th's
Structural engineers who designed the Twin Towers carried out studies in the mid-1960s to determine how the buildings would fare if hit by large jetliners. In all cases the studies concluded that the Towers would survive the impacts and fires caused by the jetliners.
Evidence of these studies includes interviews with and papers and press releases issued by engineers who designed and oversaw construction of the World Trade Center. LINK 1960s-era Jetliners Compared to Boeing 767s
Contrary to widely promoted misconceptions, the Boeing 767-200s used on 9/11/01 were only slightly larger than 707s and DC 8s, the types of jetliners whose impacts the World Trade Center's designers anticipated...
Frank A. Demartini, on-site construction manager for the World Trade Center, spoke of the resilience of the towers in an interview recorded on January 25, 2001.
The building was designed to have a fully loaded 707 crash into it. That was the largest plane at the time. I believe that the building probably could sustain multiple impacts of jetliners because this structure is like the mosquito netting on your screen door -- this intense grid -- and the jet plane is just a pencil puncturing that screen netting. It really does nothing to the screen netting.
Demartini, who had an office on the 88th floor of the North Tower, has been missing since the 9/11/01 attack, having remained in the North Tower to assist in the evacuation. 6 Demartini had first worked at World Trade Center when Leslie E. Robertson Associates hired him to assess damage from the truck bombing in 1993.

Something I've stumbled upon...
excerpt
Silverstein's prospective 17-billion-dollar payoff on a 14-million-dollar down payment might qualify as the world's best-ever investment. But had 9/11 not occurred, Silverstein's purchase of the World Trade Center could have qualified as the world's worst-ever investment. According to Trade Center plans, 5,000 tons of asbestos were going to be used in the Twin Towers, [xii] much of that total was actually used, and estimates of the amount that remained in the Towers on 9/11 range from 400 to 2000 tons.[xiii] On May 14th, 2001, Business Insurance magazine reported that the Port Authority had just lost a $600 million asbestos abatement lawsuit against its insurers.[xiv] Given that the Twin Towers were reputed to be money-hemorrhaging white elephants plagued not just with asbestos, but also with low vacancy rates due to their lacking any modern communications infrastructure, and that the Port Authority had reportedly been trying to find a way to demolish them but was prevented from doing so by the asbestos problem,[xv] Larry Silverstein's decision to take out a 99-year-lease on the World Trade Center makes very little sense unless he somehow knew they were slated for quick extra-legal demolition.
When someone buys a dubious, asbestos-ridden property, doubles the insurance policy, and sees the property destroyed by fire and/or explosives six weeks later, an arson investigation normally follows. If the person of interest were to publicly confess to participating in the intentional destruction of said property, one would expect not only an investigation, but also a swift indictment, prosecution, and conviction.
Why hasn't Larry Silverstein even been investigated? Was Israel Involved?
18. Emotionalize, Antagonize, and Goad Opponents. If you cant do anything else, chide and taunt your opponents and draw them into emotional responses which will tend to make them look foolish and overly motivated, and generally render their material somewhat less coherent. Not only will you avoid discussing the issues in the first instance, but even if their emotional response addresses the issue, you can further avoid the issues by then focusing on how sensitive they are to criticism.
