“Like a caterpillar now becoming a butterfly thrashing around in its old caterpillar cocoon to get out and fly, so are we awakening by our heads being held under the water, not by the loving hands of St John but by the strangling hands of the oligarchs who have been drowning us for years and years, and at last humanity has suffered enough and is determined to break free.” - Jason Liosatos

I had never heard that one before but I like it. My favorite* by Brooks and Dunn is He's Got You.

*Seems that Neil has been getting help with the coding from some British chap. LOL! It said that I was spelling favorite wrong but when I used the Brit way of spelling it, favourite, it didn't turn up its nose and kick both feet in the air. Kinda funny, no?

Very good. And I like that tagline.

You set your browser spell checker language by right clicking in a textarea box (where you type commnents and such). At least in firefox.

I never use spell checker but thanks for the info (and I do use firefox).

Have you checked distrowatch lately? Seems that Mint is now in the number one spot. After using it for the last couple of weeks I can see why. Plays well with my hardware, no issues with sound. Only two things I don't like about it. It comes with that damnable "hot corner" thing and having to log in every time you leave the computer for a while even though you left it running. I suspect there is some way to fix that but don't know what it is yet.

I'm on the road right now. Hoping to meet up with Mr Snowden and excort him into Ecuador.... but I'll try to check out Mint when that routine matter is done... probably within a week or two.

Surely there's a way to turn off the screen saver or whatever it is...

It has two aggravating things. One of them is that if you are away from the computer for more than just a few minutes (not long at all) you have to log in. It doesn't have to be rebooted or anything but that's annoying. The other thing is something they call hot corners I think--maybe you know what it is? It makes all the windows tiny. All you have to do is click on one and it restores everything but why anyone thought that would be useful I have no idea. But otherwise I really like Mint a lot.

Not familiar with it but maybe it's a notepad feature.

It could be but my computer is a desktop. Not that a desktop couldn't have some of the same features (I have never used a notepad so have to admit my ignorance on the subject).
