Immigration See other Immigration Articles Title: Arlen Specter: INCREASE Immigration Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter "calls for a dramatic increase in legal immigration, far beyond any of the other major proposals now before Congress," according to The Washington Times’ Stephen Dinan. This just cannot be. We are already overrun with illegals. Further, we have in this country Muslims who breathe to kill us all, including cowardly Muslims who won’t join in the kill. Any Muslim whosoever appears to be a troublemaker should find exit from the USA immediately. All mosques should be checked out thoroughly to make certain they are not in fact sleeper cells for America’s destruction. Every Muslim web site originating in America should be investigated likewise. And not another Muslim should be admitted to the United States. None. In other words, America is faced with a safety problem and a numbers problem. For Specter then to call for an increase in "legal immigration" is adding to the angst of law-abiding American citizens. After all, we have lived with this illegality long enough. It is a disgrace that when law is held as such a commendable attribute, the US government daily breaks the law in permitting illegals to climb over our borders as well as advance forward. With Specter championing his nonsense bill, there is also reported that "the House Homeland Security Committee has approved a bill that would boost personnel and end ‘catch-and-release,’ the policy of allowing non-Mexican illegal aliens to go free in the hope they return for a deportation hearing. "The bill also expands expedited removal, which should reduce the time needed to send those aliens home. "Among the other House measures introduced are bills to end birthright citizenship, which grants children of illegal aliens automatic citizenship; to build a barrier system along the border -- either with a fence, or technology, or a combination of the two; to allow local law enforcement to detain illegal aliens for immigration violations and force federal authorities to pick up the aliens; and to increase penalties for employers who hire illegal aliens." So there you have it. These measures make sense. Then comes along Specter with his hurrah for more persons to rush into the United States and take advantage of our system for their self-benefit. Specter proposes "the increase in green card totals, or legal immigration. A review by NumbersUSA, which advocates lower immigration levels, found that the level of legal, permanent immigration could double from its current level of more than 900,000 in fiscal 2004. "Rosemary Jenks, the group's director of government affairs, said Mr. Specter increases the cap on family-preference immigrants by 254,000 a year, raises the cap on employment-based visas by 150,000 a year, ‘recaptures’ unused visas and exempts hundreds of thousands of family members from caps as well. "’My best estimate is more than doubled, so another million a year,’ she said."
