XinhuaForum Anna Chapman, the red-haired Russian secret agent expelled from the United States in 2010, seized the moment and proposed marriage to the 30-year-old former NSA contractor, who is on the run after disclosing details of a top-secret surveillance program that allegedly targeted millions of Americans.

CIA leaker Edward Snowden may have found a soul mate in Russia.

“Snowden, will you marry me?” the 31-year-old former sleeper agent, dubbed a “femme fatale” by international media, wrote in a tweet posted Wednesday.

“NSA, will you look after our children?” Chapman wrote in another tweet, referring to Snowden’s former employer, the US National Security Agency.

Snowden, who faces the death penalty on espionage charges in the United States, and is believed to have been holed up at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport since June 23, has yet to reply.

The American has sent asylum requests to almost two dozen countries. Several have rejected his application outright, while many others have said he must be on the territory of their country to complete his request.

Chapman was arrested in New York in June 2010 and then deported to Moscow with other Russian agents in exchange for Russians serving jail sentences for spying for the West, who were released and sent abroad.

Once back home, she became something of a celebrity, modeling for men’s magazines, hosting a television show and becoming involved in charity work. Thank you for your reading; you are the NO. 792 reader of the post.

Don't know what citizenship rights a foreigner acquires upon marriage to a Russian but if Snowden thus became a citizen he could say anything he wants about US spying or whatever (as long as he didn't criticize Putin or Medvedev).

While you're on the line, is there a way to put 4-um "Post" in s tool/task bar so it can be used as a shortcut for posting? After copying an article via Firefox I now go to Bookmarks and click "post" from there.

Should at least get perm residency. However, getting that likely requires a passport. Surely Snowden has the physical passport book, but I guess with the latest new-fangled electronic digital crap, they just pull the registration of the passport by remote control.

But even married to a citizen likely still requires the person have a passport to enter the country.

I guess he can get married in an international zone though. A ship captain can do it on the high seas, which is where he basically is right now.

On your browser toolbar? Youd just bookmark it onto your toolbar, wouldn't you?

I suspect the Russians are having fun pulling Oh'bamCo's chain and giggling while the U.S. Establishment/Rotchilds twist in the wind. I think that they will end up giving him asylum after Putin finishes giving Oh'bummer the finger. :-)

I have serious doubts about this story. How did she contact Snowden, and how did she learn how to make contact with him? And how do the rest of us get to know about this contact?

Assuming this story is true, Snowden would be a bigger fool than me to reach for this bait.

How did she contact Snowden,

Ummm... through the mass media.

And how do the rest of us get to know about this contact?

Simple. Go work for the US gov, get some inside info about how they violate the law and civil liberties (not hard at all, I'm sure) defect, and then leak it to the press.

Assuming this story is true, Snowden would be a bigger fool than me to reach for this bait.

She's good bait. But she is providing some incentive for other NSA workers to defect to Russia.

In regular bookmarks, yes, but I've got a bookmark to 4um on my toolbar, so it's always available without having to do the bookmark dropdown menu.

If that's not the right answer, then I guess I'm missing your question.

Well that's a stretch and highly unlikely.
