Zimmerman: Not Guilty of Cold-Blooded Murder

by Stephen Lendman

When is killing a non-threatening unarmed teenager not murder? When civil rights don't matter. When Jim Crow justice prevails.

When the victim is black. When mostly white women jurors call cold-blooded murder self-defense.

(Note: Juror B29 was the sole Hispanic. Zimmerman's white. He's  Hispanic. His voter registration form identifies him that way. His father calls himself white. His mother's Peruvian).

Killing Trayvon Martin's not murder when a jury of peers representing both sides fairly is verboten. When killing black males in America is OK when whites do it.

When a culture of violence prevails. When institutionalized racism is longstanding. When conventional wisdom says black males aren't victims. They're prone to violence.

When equity and justice are four-letter words. When human life has no value. When society doesn't give a damn if a black male dies. When lawlessness is part of the national culture.

George Zimmerman murdered Trayvon Martin. He did so in cold-blood. He's free to kill again. Wrongfully claiming self-defense saved him. It's the American way. It's always been this way.

Cold-blooded murder's not self-defense. Not now. Not ever.

The ACLU responded to Trayvon's killing saying:

His death "once again laid bare the reality that, too often in our nation’s history, police actions have been motivated by racial bias and that crimes with an undeniable racial motive have too often been overlooked or swept under the rug."

Florida's Seminole County Court Judge Debra Nelson concluded proceedings telling Zimmerman: "You have no further business with the court."

Benjamin Crump represented Trayvon's family. He expressed their outrage saying:

"Trayvon Martin will forever remain in the annals of history next to Medgar Evers and Emmet Till as symbols for the fight for equal justice for all."

He appealed for calm, adding: "For Trayvon to remain in peace, we must all be peaceful."

NAACP President Ben Jealous issued a statement saying:

"I know I am not alone in my outrage, anger, and heartbreak over this decision."

"When a teenager's life is taken in cold blood, and there is no accountability for the man who killed him, nothing seems right in the world, but we cannot let these emotions alone rule."

"In these most challenging of times, we are called to act. There is work left to be done to achieve justice for Trayvon."

"The Department of Justice can still address the violation of Trayvon's most fundamental civil right - the right to life, and we are urging them to do so."

"We continue to grieve the loss of Trayvon with his parents, his family, and all who loved him. Do not forget what brought us to this day."

"(W)e have a choice. We can be felled by our sorrows over the jury's decision, or we can turn our frustration into action. We can demand the Department of Justice address the travesties of this tragedy. We can take a step forward in our efforts to finally end racial profiling in America once and for all."

Legal proceedings against Zimmerman's wife remain active. Shellie Zimmerman faces perjury charges. She lied last summer. She did so during her husband's bail hearing.

She wrongfully pled poverty. She did it after she and her husband raised $130,000 through online donations.

Nationwide protests followed Zimmerman's acquittal. Public anger is real. It's visceral. Twitter messages read:

"My heart is aching with disappointment."

"My tears haven't fallen this hard in years."

"The justice system in America is RIP."

"US jury acquits on black teen death!! Makes me sick to my stomach."

"It's now legal. You can chase someone, start a fight…pull out a gun, kill him & walk away scot-free."

San Francisco protesters marched down Mission and Valencia streets. They called for justice. They held signs saying: "The people say guilty," "No justice, no peace," and "The whole system is racist."

Riots erupted in downtown Oakland. Chicago protesters shouted "Who killed Treyvon Martin? The whole damn system!"

Washington, DC protesters blocked a busy intersection. Marchers in Seminole County's seat, Sanford, Miami, and elsewhere demand justice.

Trayvon was aged 17. He was an African American high school student. He lived in predominantly white Sanford, FL.

On February 26, 2012, Zimmerman murdered him in cold blood. He faced second-degree murder and manslaughter charges.

Trayvon was unarmed. He carried a can of iced tea and some cash. He threatened no one. Neighborhood watch captain Zimmerman claimed self-defense.

Critics called killing Trayvon a hate crime. Police tapes showed Zimmerman obsessed with law and order, suburban life minutia, and black males. He called them "assholes who always get away."

A 2011-established Neighborhood Watch group appointed him captain. It was set up to help local police. He's a former altar boy turned killer.

In 2005, he faced assault charges. He accosted a police officer during an altercation. It was over a friend's underage drinking arrest.

He was a first-time offender. He avoided a felony conviction. The same year, his former fiancee accused him of domestic violence. He counter-charged in response. In 2006, the case ended when both injunctions expired.

Stand your ground laws facilitate anything goes. They legitimize vigilante justice. They permit killing.

Most US states have them. So does Florida. They wink and nod at murder. They do so if authorities or individuals fear assailants pose serious threats. They expand on the so-called Castle Doctrine.

US Legal.com defines it as follows:

"In criminal law, (it's) an exception to the retreat rule. The retreat rule allows a person the use of deadly force while protecting his/her place of abode, its premises and its inhabitants from attack such as from a trespasser who intends to commit a felony or inflict serious bodily injury or harm."

"This defense justifies such conduct constituting a criminal offense. This is also termed as defense of premises, defense of habitation and dwelling defense."

According to Jacksonville, FL State Attorney Angela Corey:

"The stand-your-ground law is one portion of justifiable use of deadly force."

"And what that means is that the state must go forward and be able to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt."

"It makes the case in general more difficult than a normal criminal case."

Florida's law states:

"A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or to another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony."

Law Professor Jonathan Turley calls Stand Your Ground, Make My Day, and Castle Doctrine laws abusive and unnecessary.

They "address a problem that does not exist," he said. There are ample protections under the common law for individuals to use the privilege of self-defense, including reasonable mistaken self-defense."

"Legislators are now feigning complete shock at the potential for abuse under these laws after refusing to consider" clear warnings about passing them.

Shoot first laws assure trouble. Needless deaths follow. Killers get off scot-free. Wild west justice prevails.

Zimmerman wasn't initially charged. Public outrage forced Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to act. She appointed a special prosecutor. She pressed second-degree murder and manslaughter charges.

Under Florida law, second degree murder is lawlessly killing someone. It excludes premeditation. Proving it requires prosecutors show defendants evinced a "depraved mind" without regard for human life.

They must convince jurors that they acted with enmity toward victims or that both parties had an ongoing interaction or relationship. Proving an intent to kill isn't required.

Second degree murder's mandated if victims die while committing a felony. They include burglary, home-invasion robbery, kidnapping, sexual battery, and other offenses.

Prosecutors must show victims died as a result of an act committed by a non-participant in the felony. If the defendant or other criminal participant caused the killing, state law requires first degree murder charges.

Second degree murder defenses include:

• justifiable use of deadly force to "prevent the commission of a forcible felony," or using it "to prevent death or great bodily harm;"

• excusable homicide committed by accident; or

• spontaneous or negligent killing qualifying as manslaughter.

If found guilty, Zimmerman faced up to 30 years imprisonment. Life sentences may be imposed if defendants had other felony convictions, including murder.

Acquitting Zimmerman reflects Jim Crow justice. Killing a nonthreatening unarmed black teenager doesn't matter. Stand your ground laws make it easy. It's the American way.

OK, not "cold blooded".

But Zim followed Martin even after the police dispatcher told him, repeatedly, not to.

And it turns out that self-styled neighborhood guardian Zim was so out-of-shape, so ill-prepared to deal with a confrontation, that his ONLY recourse when he found himself in trouble, even against an unarmed person, was to shot the other person dead.

All in all, an example of felonious stupidity and capital incompetence.

You've mentioned this more than once without offering a shred of proof. He was neither murdered nor on his knees begging for his life. Why exactly would you continue to belch out this nonsense?

There were 4 black 16-17 y.o.s practicing their 'singing' in a stairwell when this White Kid had the nerve to enter it. He was a new 'freshman' at the St.Louis H.S. For that Offense he was thrown down a flight of stairs. Nothing was done to the blacks. This was 1964. The White Kid was me.

History is a very interesting subject.

One has to be careful while reading the history of this country because it has been "sanitized" as much as possible.

Institutions of higher learning have relegated what cannot be "sanitized", to the ignored or omitted portions of our history.

For instance, the first acknowledged Jew to be elected to the Senate was a man named Judah Benjamin.

Judah was acknowledged at the time for being the largest SLAVE HOLDER in the South. Some books carry the total of BLACK SLAVES as 150 humans.

Mr. Benjamin became wealthy, very wealthy. He even became Sec. of State for Jefferson Davis.

When Lee surrendered, Judah being an astute person desiring not to be hung, left his FORTUNE, HIS SLAVES, HIS OWN FAMILY AND FLED TO ENGLAND.

A later Senator named Benjamin Tillman, got it right in forecasting the downfall of this country and naming the groups that would be involved.

Indeed. This trial simply didn't end in the usual way and the propagandists simply can't let it go. I'm still holding out hope for urban unrest as the pot continues to be stirred by those who can't accept a fair and just verdict.

from one of the clear thinkers at fr -

Libs to Zimmerman: Drop dead

Declaring 'enough is enough' after one of the worst shooting sprees last week in Chicago, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton and other civil rights leaders marched on the streets of the Windy City in protest against the wave of black-on-black crime plaguing that city, demanding tougher prison sentences for criminals -- WE INTERRUPT THIS 'TWILIGHT ZONE' EPISODE to bring you a reality-based news bulletin!

Liberals are stunned and dismayed that George Zimmerman was acquitted of all false charges. The Holder Justice Department is looking into filing spurious civil rights charges against Zimmerman because he was acquitted. And because, if Obama had a son, he wouldn't look like George Zimmerman.

The three main reasons for Zimmerman's acquittal were: (1) no evidence, (2) he was innocent, (3) no evidence. There were six women on the jury but Nancy Grace was not one of them.

The Zimmerman shooting case marked the first time in history that liberals weren't claiming that the gun acted on its own.

Interestingly, when the identities of the D.C. snipers became known -- one of them named Muhammad -- libbies were quick to forgive and forget, insisting the two were just misunderstood murderers. Besides, they only intended to shoot white people. With Zimmerman, libbies couldn't wait to lynch him.

Liberals constantly lecture and harangue conservatives about the sacredness of the jury system. They wanted to try KSM before a regular jury in New York City because there's no way a jury could get it wrong. Unless libbies disagree with the verdict. Harry Reid said that since Zimmerman was acquitted the Justice Department should prosecute him and that "this isn't over with." He also said, "I support the system." Say, maybe we should look into Harry Reid's activities and prosecute him. I support the system.

From the media-manufactured 'narrative', to the assumed "facts" about the case, all crumbled in the courtroom. Short list:

-- Liberals argue hysterically that Trayvon Martin was this innocent little darling armed with nothing more than Skittles and a soda. Evidence from the prosecution's own witnesses showed the innocent little, 6'2", 160-pound lad was very busy committing battery against Zimmerman that night. Moreover, angelic Trayvon got suspended from school for possessing a burglary tool and women's jewelry. (Jesse Jackson says Trayvon "was doing all the right stuff");

-- We hear endlessly from the media that this was a tragedy all the way around. The media yammer on and on about the tragedy of the death of Trayvon Martin. Obama, a self-proclaimed "black" man, called it a tragedy yesterday because the 'self-proclaimed Hispanic' Hispanic wasn't the one who got killed. It wasn't a tragedy. This was the PREVENTION of a tragedy. It would have been tragic had Trayvon succeeded in bashing Zimmerman's head on the cement enough times to have killed him. Or if an innocent man had been convicted to appease a mob;

-- Liberals insist Zimmerman should have stayed in his vehicle while a suspicious character fitting the profile of perps plaguing the neighborhood with a rash of burglaries was allowed to roam around. Just like every good neighborhood watch captain would do. Then it turns out that Trayvon had 4 whole minutes to get away (the time between Zimmerman losing sight of Trayvon and when the innocent pacifist lad decided to batter the man he allegedly was afraid of);

-- During the 14 months before the Zimmerman incident, that neighborhood had experienced about 8 burglaries. (Out of force of habit, Janet Napolitano noted the neighborhood had never been more secure);

-- Zimmerman 'tracking' Trayvon doesn't vitiate a claim of self-defense since what matters was Zimmerman's state of mind while getting pummeled. Contrast that with Ted Kennedy's state of mind while drowning a girl and Bill Clinton raping a woman);

-- Liberals claim the Zimmerman case shows why the 'Stand Your Ground' law must be repealed. The Zimmerman case wasn't based on Stand Your Ground, principally because Zimmerman's head was being slammed against the ground;

-- The prosecutors, consisting of expert mind-readers, accused Zimmerman of being a racist. They know this because the tolerant, saintly racial healer Trayvon Martin called him a "creepy ass cracker";

The record shows an FBI investigation a year ago concluded, after interviewing 30 people, there was no evidence the shooting was caused by racial bias or hatred on Zimmerman's part, so good luck bringing "civil rights" charges against him.

Anyway, that's... My Two Cents... "JohnHuang2"

The one I mentioned was the 2nd attack on me in 4 yrs.

I was about 10 yrs old when I was walking up the new construction of hyway 44. I had my new bow and arrows, 25 lb. pull, and shooting at dirt clods. Didn't know I'd walked to the black area. 3 black kids, maybe 13-14 y.o. came running at me, and knocked the hell out of me, took my bow and arrows and broke them all. Then threw clods of dirt at me to chase me.

Living Near the S.O.B.s created an attitude in me. Some still remains.

Eighth Grader Honor Student and born-genius Trayvon Martin is walking home in his graduation cap and gown, after spending the day tutoring disadvantaged red, yellow, black and white children, because they are precious in his sight.

Short, fat, stupid, ugly, blond-haired, blue-eyed Aryan Nation member and Neo-Nazi George Zimmerman is driving around in his Confederate Flag draped pickup while sporting a monocle and a paste-on dueling scar.

Zimmerman spots Trayvon through the night by the near-blinding glow of his halo.

Cackling evilly, the white supremacist Klansman takes chase.

The football star nearly outruns him, but he is trapped by a "Do Not Enter" sign.

Faced with certain death or disobeying the law, Trayvon makes his stand.

Trayvon attempts to reason with his attacker using by the degree in Philosophy he earned at five years old, but the illiterate racist will have none of it.

Zimmerman takes a swing of "Lean" (made from Skittles, Arizona sweet tea and Robitussion) and snarls, "Any last words, nigra?"

Trayvon looks his executioner in the eye and replies, "Truth, Justice and the American Way."

"WHITE POWER FOREVER!" shrieks Zimmerman as he unloads with his fully-automatic assault rifle.

If not for the Republican party Trayvon might have survived, but the skinhead's extended magazine, unfettered by their legislation, unloads hundreds of .50 caliber rounds into the future Nobel Peace Prize winner recipient.

Zimmerman then bashes his own head into the curb repeatedly, while screaming in his girlish voice, "Help me!"

When he is finished, Hitler himself steps back into his gas-guzzling vehicle and peels away, seeking kittens and puppies to run over.

As Trayvon lay dying, the last thing he sees is the "Bush Cheney 2004" bumper sticker disappear into the night.

A nanosecond later, he grew his angel's wings and fluttered to heaven, to sit forever at the right hand of God.

Judah Benjamin, US Senator, largest slave holder in the US,Sec. of War for the Confederacy, urged poor whites to fight to the death, in order to preserve his station in life.

Like the coward he was, he assumed several different names while fleeing this country.

When a culture of violence prevails.

That's the only one you got right. If Trayvon had walked on home rather than assault Zimmerman he would have made it home alive that night.

Trayvon assaulted Zimmerman under the assumption that he was unarmed. He thought he could beat the crap out of the "creepy ass cracker" (yes, that's racist) and go on home. Fatal mistake.

What part of protecting yourself against an assault isn't self defense? Why no grand jury on this one? Why does the race baiting never take the logical turn to Trayvon Martin's racial slurs?

Why do you want to discuss Zimmerman's past but not Trayvon's? Isn't that racist?

The defense and the prosecution picked that "racist" jury. How many jury selections have you sat in on lately? Not too many people willing to do their jury duty these days Lendman and white women are simply more willing...not racist, just the sad truth.

Did an astute eye witness such as yourself testify?

Did you know that there was an eye witness who testified? It didn't happen like that at all. The witness testified that Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman smashing his head into the concrete while Zimmerman begged for help REPEATEDLY. Then he heard one gun shot and the cries for help ended.

This entire article just reeked of bs and of course the lefties drivel who supported it made it even worse with their lies and fairyland fantasies.

This is more bs from someone who should know better. The right to defend yourself if NOT a "privilege" but a right which is as old as mankind and predated any government issuing "privileges" to its serfs, peons, vassals and slaves.

Law Professor Jonathan Turley calls Stand Your Ground, Make My Day, and Castle Doctrine laws abusive and unnecessary.

Methinks Lendman cherry picks Turley too much.

Here's a Turley quote on 2A we can agree on James: “It is hard to read the Second Amendment and not honestly conclude that the Framers intended gun ownership to be an individual right."

Turley on Zimmerman/Martin case: "I saw no alternative to acquittal even on manslaughter and expected the jury to render a full acquittal."

I'm going to post Turley commentary on the case. It's very insightful. Lendman should have taken the time to read it prior to posting this drivel.

Thanks for posting that. I have also quoted Turley before on other issues. He did an excellent article about why you can't sue people for defaming the dead. Some people on fb thought that people who were defaming the character of Travis Alexander should be sued for that but I 'splained to them that whether it was right or wrong the law says you can't defame the dead.

Robert E. Lee forecast the downfall of America in his letter to Lord Acton shortly after the War:

"The consolidation of the States into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it." -Robert E. Lee, 1866

In the year 2043 or earlier, the white race in America will be the "minority".

"In 2012, 13 states and the District of Columbia had an under-5 age population that was "majority-minority," up from five states in 2000. In 25 states and the District of Columbia, minorities now make up more than 40 percent of the under-5 group.

Among the under-5 age group, 22 percent live in poverty, typically in more rural states such as Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana. Black toddlers were most likely to be poor, at 41 percent, followed by Hispanics at 32 percent and whites at 13 percent. Asian toddlers had a poverty rate of 11 percent".

White Americans will go down in history as the only race that consistently voted and worked for their own demise.

"Two against one is nigger fun." My first experience with niggers was when I was 12. Went with a church group to a minor league baseball game at night in Columbus, Ohio. Got separated from the group after the game while returning to the bus in the parking lot. Passed by a group of about 15 teen nigs. My sin was to make eye contact. They chased me down and took turns kicking me for a minute, but I managed to survive by curling into an assball. I learned that day why they call them niggers.

We probably have a very similar attitude towards the "black situation".

"If we don’t adhere to the Constitution on matters as significant as presidential eligibility, then the Constitution ceases to be a meaningful document for guiding our nation."
