Title: Zimmerman juror from Chicago speaks out: He 'got away with murder'

A juror in the George Zimmerman trial who had recently moved to Florida from Chicago said today that Zimmerman "got away with murder" for killing Trayvon Martin and feels she owes an apology to Martin's parents.

"You can't put the man in jail even though in our hearts we felt he was guilty," the woman, identified only as Juror B29 during the trial, told ABC's "Good Morning America. "We had to grab our hearts and put it aside and look at the evidence."

She said the evidence, under Florida law, did not prove murder.

The court has sealed the jurors' identities. While she allowed her face to be shown during the interview, she used only a first name of Maddy.

The woman is a nursing assistant and mother of eight children. She was living in Chicago when Martin was killed and was selected as a juror five months after moving to Seminole County, Fla. She is 36 and Puerto Rican, the only minority among the five women on the jury. Zimmerman, 29, is Hispanic and Martin, 17, was black.

But Maddy insisted that the case was never about race, at least to her. "George Zimmerman got away with murder, but you can't get away from God. And at the end of the day, he's going to have a lot of questions and answers he has to deal with," Maddy told the show.

When the jury began deliberations, Maddy said she favored convicting Zimmerman of second-degree murder, which could have put him in prison for the rest of his life. The jury was also allowed to consider manslaughter, a lesser charge.

"I was the juror that was going to give them the hung jury. I fought to the end," she said.

But on the second day of deliberations, Maddy said she realized there wasn't enough proof to convict Zimmerman of murder or manslaughter under Florida law. Zimmerman admitted he shot and killed Martin on Feb. 26, 2012, but maintained he fired in self-defense.

"That's where I felt confused, where if a person kills someone, then you get charged for it," Maddy said. "But as the law was read to me, if you have no proof that he killed him intentionally, you can't say he's guilty."

The juror said she has had trouble adjusting to life after the verdict, and has wrestled with whether she made the right decision. "I felt like I let a lot of people down, and I'm thinking to myself, 'Did I go the right way? Did I go the wrong way?'" she said.

"As much as we were trying to find this man guilty. . .they give you a booklet that basically tells you the truth. And the truth is that there was nothing that we could do about it," she said. "I feel the verdict was already told."

She said she believes she owes Trayvon Martin's parents an apology because she feels "like I let them down."

"It's hard for me to sleep, it's hard for me to eat because I feel I was forcefully included in Trayvon Martin's death. And as I carry him on my back, I'm hurting as much Trayvon's Martin's mother because there's no way that any mother should feel that pain," she said.

Maddy is the second juror to speak in a televised interview, and the first to show her face.

Juror B37, whose face and body were hidden, appeared last week on Anderson Cooper's CNN show, and said she believes Zimmerman's "heart was in the right place" when he became suspicious of Martin and that the teenager probably threw the first punch.

Since then, four other jurors distanced themselves from B37's remarks and released a statement saying B37's opinions were "not in any way representative" of their own.

Poster Comment:

Zimmerman is not white. He could not be convicted because there was no evidence. But I wonder why they had an all woman jury. Maybe they were looking for people like this woman.

Look man, the nigger's dead and can no longer show up and tell us lies. They "found" stolen items in his locker at school, his own tweets detail his gang banger mentality ... Trayvon fucked up. Every neighborhood needs a George Zimmerman or two or even a hundred. End of story.

Strange times are these in which we live when old and young are taught in falsehood’s school. And the one man who dares to tell the truth is called at once a lunatic and fool.

With the law and evidence presented you'd have to be a retard to conclude that Poooooooooooooooooor Trayvon was "murdered"

It was a show trial - a "Dog & Pony" show. There was more going on here than the prosecution persecution of George Zimmerman. I don't know whether the intent was to create a race war with this event, to just add another log to the fire, or what? The Persecution had to know in advance that they had no case, and despite repeated questionable rulings, in the Persecution's favor, by da Judgette, Zimmerman was still exonerated. The blatherings of the weepy jurors after the fact really proves nothing, and, as you said, if the Jury had been allowed possession of all of the relevant facts the outcome would have been even more clear cut, and the media might have been forced to at least give lip service to reporting the relevant background data showing this young man's warped mindset.

This is best viewed as a PsyOp. Oh'bummer's stupid commentary was only to throw gasoline on the fire. Whether it was to draw attention away from his own criminality and scandals, to plant a deep seed that opposition to his criminality is based on race, or to foment rioting to provide a pretext for Martial Law is indeterminate from the available data set. However, that there was some hidden agenda at play I have no doubt. I just do not have enough data to get a clearer reading.

The witnesses are direct. The injuries are circumstantial.

Saying "I saw Trayvon hit Zimmerman" or "I saw Zimmerman shoot Trayvon" is direct evidence.

Zimmerman has a bloody nose which could have been caused by Trayvon punching him is circumstantial evidence.

poooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorooooooooooooooooooooooooor St. Trayvon

No one on the prosecution side has ever claimed that Trayvon was a saint, but when you and others who agree with you engage in vicious character assassination in order to justify the murder of a child, you force those of us who have problem with how he was killed to defend him.

Why is it unreasonable of me to attempt to defend Trayvon?

Am I obligated to say that he was scum and deserved what happened to him just because that is how others choose to see it? You are using a phony condescending straw man argument.

Now you are REALLY pulling strawmen out of your ass. A COUPLE of images might have been fake, but there were plenty of REAL images that show the same thing.

The one I posted was NOT included in Snopes debunking nor is it present on their website.

So go ahead and show us how the image that I posted is "fake".

I would consider the line, "these assholes they always get away" to be highly belligerent.

Apparently you don't understand the meaning of the word "belligerent". Let me help you out...

Definition of BELLIGERENT

1) waging war; specifically : belonging to or recognized as a state at war and
protected by and subject to the laws of war

2) inclined to or exhibiting assertiveness, hostility, or combativeness
Stating that "these assholes they always get away" is in reference to the burglars that had been breaking into homes in the neighborhood and getting away with it.

Zimmerman felt that Martin was acting in a manner which would make it highly likely that he was one of those burglars, thus made the comment. That is not being belligerent.

Being belligerent would have been more like "get your f'in ass down here now so that you can catch this little bastard in the act before I shoot his nasty black ass".

Now if he had said something like that then you'd have a leg to stand on.

vicious character assassination in order to justify the murder of a child

a. Trayvon was a minor. Not a child.

legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/child

child n. 1) a person's natural offspring. 2) a person 14 years and under. A "child" should be distinguished from a "minor" who is anyone under 18 in almost all states.

b. vicious character assassination has been inflicted on Zimmerman not on Martin. Please get the wronged party right.

fucking jews.

Noticed you defending Martin as if he were your "brother" so to speak prior to logging in.

As usual, you're on the wrong side of the fence here. Equally not surprising that you're trying to make this a "jew thing".

You apparently have some serious obsession with Jews. Did a Jew steal your candy when you were a wee lad? To have maniacal hatred of someone just because of their religion or heritage, when all indications are that this person was a genuinely decent guy who loves to help people, well that's just a tad beyond sick and twisted.

So whose spell are YOU under I wonder...

If Martin had been a Jew and Zimmerman a black guy, I'm sure we would have never heard of this case, and if we did, you'd be on Zimmerman's side because he killed a Jew.

No one on the prosecution side has ever claimed that Trayvon was a saint, but when you and others who agree with you engage in vicious character assassination in order to justify the murder of a child

A. He was NOT A CHILD. He was a 5'11" 17 year old wannabe gangsta', trained in martial art style fighting, which by his own posts we know he liked doing, and he liked to, sadistically, make other people bleed.

B. His background is not used to "justify" the murder of a child young thug, but to make the point that the lynch mob chasing George Zimmerman bearing the banner of St. Trayvon are the real racists here. That they are trying to excuse his behavior in order to condemn and lynch a man who, by all of the available EVIDENCE, was attacked and put, by St. Trayvon, in the position of having to defend his life. While there are pieces that suggest that George Zimmerman could have followed a more prudent course of action that does not JUSTIFY "Pooooooooooooooooor St. Trayvon" attacking "the nasty ass "Cracka".

It is regrettable that this young man lost his life. However, in examining the situation and likely chain of events it is the EVIDENCE, not the prejudices and petty bigotries, that must be examined. It is the LIE and false portrayal of "Poooooooooooooooor St. Trayvon" as some innocent "babe" that necessitates exposing his less than innocent past in order to demonstrate that the false portrayal IS FALSE.

In the pursuit of the truth of the matter the false portrayal of this little wannabe gangsta' as an "innocent young babe" is a LIE, AND IT IS A KNOWING LIE, by the people seeking to lynch George Zimmerman for the crime of defending his life against the irrationally predatory behavior of an out of control young thug. Had that been done he might well still be alive today.

It seems to me in examining all of the arguments of "Pooooooooooooooooor St. Trayvon's" apologists that the one thing that is paramount in their consideration of how this young thug got himself killed is his race, and the race of the man who had to defend against this predator. First George Zimmerman was portrayed as "white" by a media that knew better, then the media (ABC Snooze) made an edited propaganda tape of his 911 call, and then the race pimps got involved. Despite all of the evidence which stands unrefuted the people bearing "Poooooooooor St. Trayvon's" banner keep coming back to "he had to be innocent cuz' he was black, and Zimmerman had to be guilty because he wasn't. That "Poooooooooor St. Trayvon" was a predator is made abundantly clear by his own postings and his having been found in possession of what was most likely stolen jewelry. Bringing into evidence his past behavior is very much valid in assessing what we are most likely dealing with and the truth runs directly contrary to the false image portrayed in the media, by the Race Pimps, and those who unthinkingly, invincible to evidence, jump in with their racist assumptions. I have no more "tolerance" for black racists than I do of any other variety. They all share one common denominator irrational hatred of anyone who looks different than they.

The real crime here is that he was not turned over to the police for that probable loot from a burglary because the school did not want to make the black crime statistics in the schools look worse. Had that been done, instead of trying to hide the likely crime, the young man might still be alive as we would have been pulled up short. However, that is speculation not fact.

So, take your petulant excuses, false perceptions, and racist assumptions, and please to stick them where the sun does not shine.

Haven't read that but wouldn't be surprised if it's come up in pro-Trayvon posts (Zimmerman might seem to be a Jewish sounding name to some folks) because although Jewish activists organized the black civil rights marches, it's always been an uneasy alliance between the 2 groups. eg. Al Sharpton

Zimmerman's Mom, Gladys, was a devout Catholic.

Zimmerman's Dad, Robert, was a Baptist.

As is often the case in many families, the main caretaker - Mom Zimmerman - raised the Zimmerman children in the Catholic faith. George Zimmerman served as an altar boy for 10 years.

Robert and Gladys met in January 1975, when George Mesa brought along his army buddy to his sister's birthday party. She was visiting from Peru, on vacation from her job there as a physical education teacher. Robert was a Baptist, Gladys was Catholic. They soon married, in a Catholic ceremony in Alexandria, and moved to nearby Manassas.

Gladys came to lead a small but growing Catholic Hispanic enclave within the All Saints Catholic Church parish in the late 1970s, where she was involved in the church's outreach programs. Gladys would bring young George along with her on "home visits" to poor families, said a family friend, Teresa Post.

"It was part of their upbringing to know that there are people in need, people more in need than themselves," said Post, a Peruvian immigrant who lived with the Zimmermans for a time.

Post recalls evening prayers before dinner in the ethnically diverse Zimmerman household, which included siblings Robert Jr., Grace, and Dawn. "It wasn't only white or only Hispanic or only black - it was mixed," she said.

Zimmerman's maternal grandmother, Cristina, who had lived with the Zimmermans since 1978, worked as a babysitter for years during Zimmerman's childhood. For several years she cared for two African-American girls who ate their meals at the Zimmerman house and went back and forth to school each day with the Zimmerman children.

"They were part of the household for years, until they were old enough to be on their own," Post said.

Zimmerman served as an altar boy at All Saints from age 7 to 17, church members said.

"He wasn't the type where, you know, 'I'm being forced to do this,' and a dragging-his-feet Catholic," said Sandra Vega, who went to high school with George and his siblings. "He was an altar boy for years, and then worked in the rectory too. He has a really good heart."

George grew up bilingual, and by age 10 he was often called to the Haydon Elementary School principal's office to act as a translator between administrators and immigrant parents. At 14 he became obsessed with becoming a Marine, a relative said, joining the after-school ROTC program at Grace E. Metz Middle School and polishing his boots by night. At 15, he worked three part-time jobs - in a Mexican restaurant, for the rectory, and washing cars - on nights and weekends, to save up for a car.

After graduating from Osbourn High School in 2001, Zimmerman moved to Lake Mary, Florida, a town neighboring Sanford. His parents purchased a retirement home there in 2002, in part to bring Cristina, who suffers from arthritis, to a warmer climate.

On his own at 18, George got a job at an insurance agency and began to take classes at night to earn a license to sell insurance. He grew friendly with a real estate agent named Lee Ann Benjamin, who shared office space in the building, and later her husband, John Donnelly, a Sanford attorney.

"George impressed me right off the bat as just a real go-getter," Donnelly said. "He was working days and taking all these classes at night, passing all the insurance classes, not just for home insurance, but auto insurance and everything. He wanted to open his own office - and he did."

In 2004, Zimmerman partnered with an African-American friend and opened up an Allstate insurance satellite office, Donnelly said.

Actually I would not say unreasonable, but invincibly ignorant. Time and again you have evaded and avoided the facts only to substitute unsubstantiated assignment of a set of motives and behaviors to George Zimmerman which are NOT in evidence. In fact everything that is public about the man is that he was a good neighbor with a kind heart. Hardly the profile of someone who stalks someone and kills them, and it is in stark contrast to "Poooooooooooooooor St. Trayvon's" profile as a wannabe' gangsta' given to violence, and enjoying it.

The Jews are the devil's children, you would be wise to not underestimate their ability to lie, cheat, steal and kill, because they are masters at all of them. I am not talking about someone being born a "Jew", but rather the ones that follow the Talmud which is most of them. No one is born a Jew, Christian, or even a Muslim, you just don't inherit such religions, you choose them.

Zimmerman... the hispanic jew....

he has you way too many of you under his spell.

fucking jews.

His history does not show any record of his family following the Jewish faith and he has no record of belonging to the Jewish faith. Yes, he has a last name that some Jews have, but Jews have many different last names and like to choose last names that hide their religion so they can better fit in with the society they are living in. By last name alone you cannot tell with certainty if someone is a Jew or not. All indications seem to show that Zimmerman's family believes in Christ as the Son of God. Now I could be wrong, this may be an elaborate cover for their worship of the Talmud. However just going on the known evidence and eye-witness testimony, there is no way I could convict him of murder, even if he was an open Jew.

God is always good!

Why should Trayvon be held responsible for crimes committed by other black people?? How is this even relevant??

I don't claim that Zimmerman was a monster or even a racist in every situation. I do think he was a loose cannon and I think that Trayvon was racially profiled based on minimal to non-existent evidence.

Even if I grant you the point that there may be a legal distinction between 14 year olds and 17 year olds, he was still not an adult.

There is no such offense as being a "wannabe gangsta." Either document some evidence of gang activity or membership or drop the accusation. Etiher he was in a gang or he wasn't. Stop creating a department of precrime. This isn't minority report.

I think that Trayvon was racially profiled based on minimal to non-existent evidence.

Based on what?

There was a "Neighborhood Watch" formed in the neighborhood.

Every burgler, break-in artist observed was a black youth. You might find that uncomfortable to contemplate but it happens to be true.

George Zimmerman observed a young man who was behaving suspiciously - peering into windows of dark houses late at night. So, he called 911 and went to keep tabs on the possible criminal.

So, are you saying then that the Captain of the local Neighbohood Watch formed because of a rash of crimes should have just closed his eyes and gone back to watching the Idiot Box? Thus being derelict in his duties?

Give me a break!

And your point?

Again you are trying to excuse "Poooooooooooooor St. Trayvon's" behavior by playing semantics. 18 is an arbitrary number for adulthood. On the frontier it was not uncommon for what we would consider kids to marry and establish a new family farm. At 17 he was old enough to know better and you are simply trying to excuse his behavior by playing word games.

Frequently. I will put it this way--if I were making a bet with someone I would not depend on snopes for the answer to whatever the question was.

I never said there was. However, and I already posted the links which you seem to have ignored, that demonstrated his behavior and attitudes, and they were not the behaviors and attitudes of an "Altar Boy". He, by his own profession, considered himself a gangsta' and considered it something "worthy" of aspiring to.

Again and again you evade and ignore the documented evidence.

I wouldn't count on snopes for a reliable report of what day of the week it is.

Snopes consists of two people, husband and wife, who are flaming liberal O'bots. They have been caught on more than one occasion jiggering the facts. Another Snopes Lie

Twenty-Five Ways To Suppress Truth: The Rules of Disinformation (Includes The 8 Traits of A Disinformationalist)

8 Traits of a Disinformationist:

1) Avoidance. They never actually discuss issues head-on or provide constructive input, generally avoiding citation of references or credentials. Rather, they merely imply this, that, and the other. Virtually everything about their presentation implies their authority and expert knowledge in the matter without any further justification for credibility.

6) Artificial Emotions. An odd kind of 'artificial' emotionalism and an unusually thick skin -- an ability to persevere and persist even in the face of overwhelming criticism and unacceptance. This likely stems from intelligence community training that, no matter how condemning the evidence, deny everything, and never become emotionally involved or reactive. The net result for a disinfo artist is that emotions can seem artificial. Most people, if responding in anger, for instance, will express their animosity throughout their rebuttal. But disinfo types usually have trouble maintaining the 'image' and are hot and cold with respect to pretended emotions and their usually more calm or unemotional communications style. It's just a job, and they often seem unable to 'act their role in character' as well in a communications medium as they might be able in a real face-to-face conversation/confrontation. You might have outright rage and indignation one moment, ho-hum the next, and more anger later -- an emotional yo-yo. With respect to being thick-skinned, no amount of criticism will deter them from doing their job, and they will generally continue their old disinfo patterns without any adjustments to criticisms of how obvious it is that they play that game -- where a more rational individual who truly cares what others think might seek to improve their communications style, substance, and so forth, or simply give up.

"Truth cannot live on a diet of secrets, withering within entangled lies. Freedom cannot live on a diet of lies, surrendering to the veil of oppression. The human spirit cannot live on a diet of oppression, becoming subservient in the end to the will of evil. God, as truth incarnate, will not long let stand a world devoted to such evil. Therefore, let us have the truth and freedom our spirits require... or let us die seeking these things, for without them, we shall surely and justly perish in an evil world." ~ H. Michael Sweeney

And some countries terrorist militia groups use ten year olds as soldiers. Should we therefore eliminate all legal protections for children and say killing ten year olds is O.K.?

Show me one post where I have made an emotional non-rational argument. All you and Mr. Deffenbach have done is vent your spleens and call names.

Show me the proof that Trayvon was committing a crime on the night he was murdered. Show me the proof that Trayvon initiated physical violence without provocation.

You have no substantive arguments whatsoever.
