I believe she is pretending. She's acting, which accounts for the straight face.

At least she knew what she was didn't know. That's different from being truly dumb.

Is the blonde someone that we're supposed to know, or recognize?

Dear God, but, at least she's heard of Turkey...

No. She was just a contestant on a show that matched adults against school kids.

This Rhodes scholar is country singer Kellie Pickler, who might not be a natural blonde. She was born in North Carolina in 1986, graduated from high school in New London, North Carolina in 2004 (age 18). She majored in cheerleading and singing.

This video documenting the value of a North Carolina education is from a November 2007 broadcast (age 21) of Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? It may astonish you, but she was not bumped off the show! Owing to some peculiar game rule about an option to copy from another fifth grader, she was able to stay in the game for a few more rounds (she was playing for a major money donation to the American Red Cross).

This demonstration of her profound grasp of geo-political affairs even got a mention in her bio on Wikipedia.

But maybe not.

I'll bet a bazillion $$$ she's heard of Beavis & Butthead, though.

GMO poison garbage, mercury laced vaccines, fluoride in the water, chemtrails in the air, high-fructose corn syrup in all the food, microwaves everywhere...I'm sure that I'm missing lots and lots more.

Between dead and Honey BooBoo we are.
