It may astonish you, but she was not bumped off the show! Owing to some peculiar game rule about an option to copy from another fifth grader, she was able to stay in the game for a few more rounds (she was playing for a major money donation to the American Red Cross). This demonstration of her profound grasp of geo-political affairs even got a mention in her bio on Wikipedia.
