If I am understanding the point of the picture, yeah, Amerika is effed up that bad.

Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.

It's cargo cult thinking, an element or two of the initial ideal surely must comprise the entirety. The Statue of Liberty is there, the rest is extraneous, irrelevant to modern thinking...

This got me thinking about an old Star Trek episode, where all the inhabitants on some hell hole of a planet were mumbling gibberish that the crew later realized were remnants of the US Constitution (I think it was), mouthing the syllables without any real understanding of the concepts behind them.
