FORT MEADE, Md. - An Army psychologist says Pfc. Bradley Manning's private struggle with his gender identity in a hostile workplace put incredible pressure on the soldier. Capt. Michael Worsley testified Wednesday at Manning's sentencing hearing at Fort Meade, near Baltimore. Manning is now Chelsea B. Manning and wants to begin sex-change hormone therapy immediately - he says that he'll live the rest of his life as a woman.

I really don't care if he chooses to become a chipmunk, sans nuts, but why should medical insurance pay for this? (I assume he isn't picking up the tab himself).
News blurbette didn't reveal financial arrangements for the procedure.

He looks better as a woman, even though I wouldn't hold its hand using your hand.

Two things come to mind. At all costs avoid any contact with military medical facilities or personnel. Dregs of medical profession and people there due indebtedness to the government. In government/military, intelligence and security organizations, attract homosexuals like a magnet. Spend an hour in a room full of them, in uniform, and when you leave, you feel like you need a shower.
If he was diagnosed in 2010, he should have been discharged on medical grounds and then tried as a civilian. I don't envy him his stint in a men's prison (where he'll be until the surgery). And with a 35 year sentence, when he gets out, he won't just be a woman, he'll be an OLD woman, unattractive and probably with very little practice in feminine living.
I envy him his honor. He traded a cheap uniform for the chance to kick the psychotic zionists and the proponents of lousy rotten wars in the testicles. Know guns, know safety, know liberty. No guns, no safety, no liberty.
Yes, Obubbacare, or as I see it "Nazicare" will be picking up the tab for any man or woman who desires hormone therapy and sex change surgery. Yes, the desire for man to become woman, or woman to become man is a "mental illness" and will be covered by "Nazicare." Sex change surgery will be the "cure" for those with that "mental illness." Look for them on future episodes of Jerry Springer.
Even though I am thoroughly hetero, if I were sentenced to 35 years in a military prison, I might make the same claim: The prison would have to keep me, until my surgery, in accommodations that would keep me safe from rape from the other men. After the surgery, I would be moved to a women's prison, presumably not a military prison, where the accommodations would be more liveable. Let's face, if I were a man when released at age 65 or older, I would not get an active sex life that would make up for 35 years in a military men's prison.
