Title: Rangel: Reinstate Draft Before We Go Into Syria

New York, NY - Congressman Charles B. Rangel issued the following statement regarding US involvement in Syria:

"I strongly abhor and condemn the news that chemical weapons were reportedly used by the government of Syria. However, I strongly urge the President to seek an affirmative decision of Congress prior to committing any U.S. military engagement to this complex crisis.

Before we commit our military personnel to another war, we must reinstate the draft. Reinstating the draft and requiring women to register for the Selective Service would compel the American public to have a stake in the wars we fight as a nation. We must question why and how we go to war, and who decides to send our men and women into harm's way.

Military engagement should be our last resort. If we must go to war, every American should be compelled to stop and think twice about whether it is worth sending our brothers and sisters, and sons and daughters to fight. Currently less than one percent of America's population is unfairly shouldering the burden of war."

With the present unemployment levels there is probably an adequate supply of recruits. As Jew financiers take over more corporations through proxies and trim work forces to improve profits more potential recruits become available.

Well shit. When a man's right a man's right.

"If an angry bigot assumes this bountiful cause of Abolition, and comes to me with his last news from Barbados, why should I not say to him, 'Go love thy infant; love thy wood-chopper: be good-natured and modest; have that grace; and never varnish your hard, uncharitable ambition with this incredible tenderness for black folk a thousand miles off. Thy love afar is spite at home.'"

Rangel: Reinstate Draft Before We Go Into Syria

I have a better idea. Piss on Rangel, Obama and all the other war whores in the District of Criminals and let them go and fight wherever they want to. But institute a draft and force people into involuntary servitude so old bastards like him, McCain and Lady Lindsey Graham can make money off the wars they start? Not just no but HELL NO!!!

Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.

Watch a whole generation of youth flip a middle finger to FedGov and refuse to serve. Charlie Rangel needs to be summarily executed by firing squad, along with the rest of Congress and Obummer/Biden/Holder and the Supreme Court justices, none of them are worth a damn with the possible exception of Justice Antonin Scalia.

"...Currently less than one percent of America's population is unfairly shouldering the burden of war."

Rangel is a damned liar. These wars they engage in to enrich the few at the expense of the many burden almost every American, far more than one percent. If what the addled old cs means is that less than one percent fight in the wars, hells bells, how many would he want? One percent of a population of more than 300 million people is a LOT!

Rangel seems to be under the delusion that the American public has a say in federal matters.

We must question why and how we go to war, and who decides to send our men and women into harm's way.

Judge Andrew Napolitano video. Paraphrasing: Congress decides whom to attack by war [lawfully]. Presidents decide how to attack in war [lawfully]. He seems to waffle on the 1973 War Powers Act but was right the first time when he said that it was an Unconstitutional statute. He discusses the phrase "Necessary and Appropriate". Also, the criteria for use of International Military Force but too vaguely on the matter of law vs. "norms" and irrespective of Constitutionality.

Not one American needs to fight over there for us to wage war against Syria. They are indirectly financing through many different sources the mercenariness currently called the "Syrian Rebels" by the mass media.

Rangel is correct, Ike was correct.

During my lifetime, this country has either been at war or preparing for war at all times.

Peace is a relative term and misleads people.

So, if one looks at the future with this in mind, Rangel and Ike are not and were not advocating for war, rather if the young of the lowest class is going to fight or prepare for endless wars, we should at least spread the burden to everyone.

For some time and at this moment, this government is preparing for war with China.

At the close of WW1, this country was preparing for war with Japan, thus we have active war or preparations for war at all times. WWIII will indeed be a world wide war, no country will sit on the sidelines, likewise it is mandatory that no individual sit on the sidelines.

First, this country has forsaken it's youth to perpetual poverty and denies them the liberty for which they claim is the reason we go to war. It's much easier to risk ones life and limb when there's a good reason to do so. The U.S. Govt hasn't shown any consideration for those it will ask or order to fight.

Secondly, the wars are fought without any intention of winning them decisively. Recall the blitzkrieg - we fight wars like old people fuck so that the military industrial complex can acquire more wealth while our kids are maimed for life or worse. This is bullshit and every general that acquiesces to this sort of warfare wouldn't make a pimple on a private's ass.

I agree that wars are a bitter part of life on this earth. However, when assholes like George Bush, or Obama agitate for war they need to be hung publicly in order that others considering the same also recognize there will be a price paid by war mongers.

What amazes me is that the same bravery demonstrated by Americans when they fight a war for the elites can't seem to be mustered against the elites themselves.

Strange times are these in which we live when old and young are taught in falsehood’s school. And the one man who dares to tell the truth is called at once a lunatic and fool.

Excellent analysis....

You know the answer.

If we refuse to fight, they shoot us, if we raise a hand to the elite, they shoot us.

Now you see, we, the losers, at the bottom do have a problem.

There will be no draft. As long as Joe Yokel from Dustbin, Texas voluntarily joins no one cares. Try to draft the middle-class and watch a bunch of politicians get recalled.

There will be a draft.

Joe Yokel (me) volunteered then as now because with or without a draft, myself and the rest of the Yokels are the ones that will in the front lines.

This has always been true and will never change. It is not often discussed but there is and has always been on the books a draft for people with critical skills. True, these people are a step or two above we of the Yokel clan, never the less, ask any doctor under 65 how he feels about the draft.

It is a lesson in life when you see men dragged off in chains by others with big guns. I "volunteered" and was in Korea when the FBI and police came to my home for me.

Andrew Carnegie had the proper elitist approach when advising his son to hire a Yokel to take his place in the Civil War. Andrew said there were many "less worthy" that should volunteer or be drafted.

Sir Lod...

I considered it as an enlightenment.

Any "volunteer" that paid attention learned early on that a professional military officer class is dangerous.

Add the grunts as lifers and professional and you indeed have a volatile mixture.

I was told early on that by a lifer that I was not a good "sojer". Made me happy he noticed.

Ha...

My Grandfather was a FDR supporter, all in favor of sending the Yokels off to war.

Then when the law said all males to age 65 had to register for the draft, he turned peacenik.

Question..

If North Korea and China head South one more time, should we write off our 25,000 grunts in South Korea?

In retrospect, I don't see why South Korea hasn't stepped up and told American troops to vacate their peninsula because they "can handle it".

Here's a more intriguing question: what if Congress told South Korea that they were on their own and that Congress was going to transfer those 25,000 troops and materiel to Israel to man their borders?? What would be the difference???

Here's a more intriguing question: what if Congress told South Korea that they were on their own

We did just that in January of 1950, and 35,000 of my comrades paid for that idea with their lives.

Acheson spoke in January, and in June we were in all out war. Russian archives tell the story that Stalin immediately started preparing the North Koreans and Chinese for an invasion of South Korea.

Many of my friends still lie over there because of that idea.

EXCERPTS FROM ACHESON'S SPEECH TO THE NATIONAL PRESS CLUB JANUARY 12, 1950

This afternoon I should like to discuss with you the relations between the peoples of the United States and the peoples of Asia.... What is the situation in regard to the military security of the Pacific area, and what is our policy in regard to it?

In the first place, the defeat and the disarmament of Japan has placed upon the United States the necessity of assuming the military defense of Japan so long as that is required, both in the interest of our security and in the interests of the security of the entire Pacific area and, in all honor, in the interest of Japanese security. We have American, and there are Australian troops in Japan. I am not in a position to speak for the Australians, but I can assure you that there is no intention of any sort of abandoning or weakening the defenses of Japan, and that whatever arrangements are to be made, either through permanent settlement or otherwise, that defense must and shall be maintained.

This defensive perimeter runs along the Aleutians to Japan and then goes to the Ryukyus. We hold important defense positions in the Ryukyu Islands, and those we will continue to hold. In the interest of the population of the Ryukyu Islands, we will at an appropriate time offer to hold these islands under trusteeship of the United Nations. But they are essential parts of the defensive perimeter of the Pacific, and they must and will be held..........

Well, if they institute a draft, all of those here illegally will be racing to go back to where they came from, Mexicans the fastest. ;)
