It'd be interesting to know exactly what services have been performed on that sled to keep it on the road for 50+ years and 100,000+ miles.

I read a story years ago about a cylinder finish problem in Chevy V8s of that vintage that burned oil from the git. The factory service procedure was to pour Bon Ami abrasive cleaner into the carb and run it through the motor to seat the rings properly. Don't know if that's true for sure, but it sure sounds like something GM would do.

i had a turquoise and white 57 chevy in HS. skipped a lot of school days driving around with my girlfriends in that thing. we could easily pile in 8 of us. fun times.
