PHILADELPHIA – Is the reported willingness of Arab Gulf states to fund a U.S. military campaign in Syria really about major oil and gas interests that run through the country?

The potential for trillions of dollars of energy revenue in deals that snake through Syrian territory may be a motivating factor for the U.S., Russia, Turkey and Arab states in the current Syria crisis. Ads by Google

Syria is a key energy transit route to Europe. A number of countries appear to be seeking dominance of the energy market that runs through Syria.

In a hearing earlier this week, Secretary of State John Kerry said Arab counties have offered to pay for any U.S. military intervention in Syria.

“With respect to Arab countries offering to bear costs and to assess, the answer is profoundly yes,” Kerry said. “They have. That offer is on the table.”

No. It's all about Israel seeking to neutralize countries supporting Palestinian efforts to reclaim lands stolen by Jews. Saudis may be on side with Israel to avoid becoming victims of Jew warmongering like Afghanistan and Iraq.

The European-China market can take all the gas that's available, especially if it can replace nuclear power generation so Syria could only profit from extra gas transported via lines through its territory.

The pipeline ruse was trotted out by Jew propagandists in Afghanistan but after a decade of war the US isn't doing much pipelining there. Just getting lots of tankers torched.

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., asked for an estimated amount the Arabs might contribute. Kerry replied that they offered to pay for a full invasion.

“In fact, some of them have said that if the United States is prepared to go do the whole thing the way we’ve done it previously in other places, they’ll carry that cost,” Kerry said. “That’s how dedicated they are at this. That’s not in the cards, and nobody’s talking about it, but they’re talking in serious ways about getting this done.”

Major faux pas by Kerry - his confirming that our soldiers would be used as mercenaries fighting for other nations' benefit and wearing US uniforms for show.

I've not heard any House Rep. or Senator expressing how appalled they were to learn that this heinous idea would be contemplated by Kerry and Obama.

It's bewildering to me why men would join or stay in the military after hearing what Kerry said.

Here's what I don't get. If there's money to be made, why doesn't Assad just say cut us in on the deal and you can run your pipeline. There's got to be more to it than just that.

Support bacteria.

The other Arab states are willing to back up the US intervention with money - even paying (they say) 100% of our costs - if the US does all the heavy lifting and all the dirty work. Here's a better idea: Eliminate us as the middle man. Let the various Arab states - and we know they have armies of their own - do it all the themselves, so that no American blood is shed. We won't expect them to pay us a dime and if they manage to do it on the cheap so much the better for them.

There's got to be more to it than just that.

Assad is an Alawite ( a mystical Islamic religion similar to Shia though Alawites are of Arab bloodlines - Alawites also share some affinity with Christianity - a good number of Christians serve in Assad's military), a significant minority religion in Syria as well as in the ME and in the world. The Alawite's are very conscious of being an "endangered species" literally. And the main folks who have tried to extinguish them through history are the Sunni.

Why on earth would Assad want to trust the Turks ( eeek!) and the Quatars (double eek!!) and the Saudis ( triple eeek !!!) on this major business deal? Are you kidding me. I wouldn't put past those 3 Sunni nations - once getting a step in the door ostensibly to "help" with the pipeline construction - to foment an over throw of the Alawite Assad Family.

If I were Bashar Assad, I'd much rather trust a fellow ME minority tribe nation - Iran- than the Sunni weasels who would slash your throat without a second thought.

I wouldn't trust Prince Bandar to pet sit my dog, nevermind do a business deal with that slimeball. Take a look at this ugly psycho - would you trust him to make a buck?
