It's still possible to resist the hive mentality and fight evil without joining a cult. To win this battle, christians are going to need the help of independant minded people who may not neccessarily conform to christian beliefs.

I am not sure that is a great approach to Christianity. Coming to understanding is alot different than conforming to the ideas and social norms of the masses.
