Israel/Zionism See other Israel/Zionism Articles Title: US must choose between Netanyahu and national interests: Expert A political commentator says US President Barack Obama must choose between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the national interests of the United States, Press TV reports. “The United States now is at the point where it has to choose between giving Benjamin Netanyahu what he wants versus doing what is in America’s interests to stay alive,” Mark Glenn, a member of Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement, said. He added that the US foreign policy has been dominated by pro-Israel interests for at least a half century. ”I think the United States finds itself in a difficult position right now particularly given the fact that Russia has stepped into the Middle East equation in a very important fashion,” the expert added. He pointed to the recent remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei about the US and said Washington is constantly reneging on its agreements and that it is “untrustworthy.” “But at the same time I think it is important that all countries recognize that right now there is this fork in the road and the United States has been put in the position of choosing which way it is going to go,” Glenn said. Glenn further said that he believed the US president is standing up not to Israel but to its Prime Minister Netanyahu. ”I think there are smarter elements in the pro-Israel community in America who understand that Netanyahu is a threat to the continued existence of Israel because he is so loud, he is so out in the open with his madness,” the commentator pointed out. He emphasized that the pro-Israel community in the United States is trying to isolate Netanyahu and contain him in order to “save Israel because he will destroy Israel if he keeps running his mouth and engaging American in new wars.” The US president, speaking in a meeting with the Israeli premier on the heels of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly on September 30, once again reemployed the warmongering rhetoric against Tehran over its nuclear energy program, saying Washington will take no options off the table with regard to Iran. The meeting between Obama and Netanyahu came only days after Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and the US president held a telephone conversation on September 27 mainly focusing on Iran’s nuclear energy program. You got it! Since Obie has not attacked Syria, talk radio hosts have savaged him. I usually like Mark Levin for his wit and intellect but he's been tearing into Obie like a pit bull recently, calling him an empty suit every which way. I'm pleasantly surprised. I hope American voters don't make the same "guilt" vote mistake again- say HildaBeast ( female President) anyone?
