With the exception of Whites, the rule among the peoples of the world, whether residing in their homelands or settled in Western democracies, is ethnocentrism and moral particularism: they stick together and good means what is good for their ethnic group." -Alex Kurtagic
a while back i was in Luray VA & went to the luray caverns. they also had a very cool transportaion museum full of vintage trucks, buggies etc. it was probably more interesting than the caverns which was overpriced & overhyped.

This reminds me of the '38 Dodge half ton pickup my Dad restored. The thing was beautiful, about the same shade of red as this Mack, similar flatbed with stake sides.

Riding in anything build prior to about 1930 is an experience, they shake like hell, the brakes are marginal at best, overheating is a constant concern, gas and oil fumes are strong enough to cause dizzines.
The only thing I can compare it to is riding in a British car from the 60's or 70's.

Except that the electronics in the British cars were shit and would leave you stranded on a regular basis. I had a friend who's Spitfire was down more than it ran, he sold it after rebuilding the engine and replacing gauges/wiring, the damn thing was very reliable about NOT running.

I'll bet it was a trophy-winner after you got it finished ;-)

Mine was never "finished" in all the years I had her but we progressed a great deal. I won first place at one show when my old friend Harry didn't show up with his 1969 Convertible with a 390 in it. : ) Since he sold Mustang parts and restored them his car was impeccable. It even took first place at nationals.
