True Ghost Stories George Noory welcomed Jim Harold, host of The Paranormal Podcast, who shared creepy tales from this book True Ghost Stories: Jim Harold's Campfire II. One intriguing account followed a woman named Michelle from England whose three-year-old son made a rather shocking revelation. A WWI-style biplane was passing overhead one day when the young boy proclaimed to his mother, "That sounds like the plane that killed me," Harold said. The three-year-old provided details of his life with another family in London, visiting a pub with his girlfriend and finally dying in an apparent aviation-related explosion at home, he explained. Harold believes the story hints at the reality of reincarnation.

Another eerie tale centered on a boy named Gabriel and a most unusual Ouija board. The planchette was removed from its black silk cover and as soon as Gabriel touched it the box containing the board began to rattle, Harold recounted. Gabriel's spiritual adviser pulled the board out and set on the floor, where it promptly began crawling around like an inchworm, he added. According to Harold, Gabriel threw the board into a fire where it remained unscorched until the planchette was also thrown into the flames. Harold related the account of an experiencer named Jim, who was approached by a strange laughing man who told him, "Today will be the day." Jim heard and saw the phrase at various times throughout the day, culminating in seeing it written next to a grim reaper figure on a t-shirt belonging to an accident victim, he said.

Harold reported on two similar sky anomaly accounts. One from a female teen on vacation in Dayton Beach, Florida, who, along with her brother, claimed to have seen a castle made of clouds in the sky. They could see every brick, the drawbridge chains and window shapes, he disclosed, suggesting it may have been a military experiment. A similar sighting happened in New Mexico, where a man witnessed a highly-detailed eagle appear in the clouds, he added. Harold also conveyed the tale of The Roadhouse Saloon, as well as a story about a picture that would not stay on the wall. The photo was of the entire family and every time it fell from its mount someone within it would die in a matter of weeks, he revealed. After six times the elderly owner of the picture finally took it down for good, he said... cont.

Choices & the Mind:

On Tuesday's show, doctor of psychology and metaphysics, Eldon Taylor, discussed choices people make, and the mental processes behind them. What goes into our life decisions isn't always authentic or original, and can stem from messages in culture and the media, he noted. Research shows that some 90% of our decisions are made from the subconscious mind, he said, and "there's a script going on in our subconscious, and that script includes some self-serving biases," which have a foundation that's built out of our habits. Sometimes we make decisions out of anger, or the result of compensatory or compliance mechanisms. For instance, if someone gives you a gift, you feel like you owe them something.

"People get stuck because they see implicit boundaries, they see limitations when limitations aren't there, and we began that process when we're really very young," Taylor remarked. In our world, there's so much disenchantment, anxiety, and uncertainty, that "I think the most important thing you can do today is bring people's attention to the fact that they don't have to live that way," he continued. There are simple things people can do to empower themselves to deal with whatever circumstances they encounter in a healthy, happy way.

By becoming mindful of our limiting beliefs, and "self talk," we can work past illusory ways of thought, and reach higher potentials, he suggested. Dr. Taylor offers a set of subliminal programs called " InnerTalk" to help people re-program problematic patterns and behaviors. But one way to immediately improve one's well being is to start helping other people. By making a difference in the lives of other people, you quickly find merit in your own life, he suggested.

Federal Reserve & US Economy:

First hour guest, webmaster, activist, and talk show host Michael Rivero spoke about the state of the US economy, its monetary system, and the Federal Reserve. Regarding whether the debt ceiling should be raised, there's a fundamental question behind that-- "if the Constitution gives to the US government the authority to make and issue public currency without interest, why for the last 100 years has the US government borrowed all the public currency at interest from a privately owned central bank?" he asked. The historical irony is that America fought a revolution to be free from this kind of predatory banking, Rivero added. He believes that a major crash of the US banking system is an inevitability, and people should be prepared.

Psychology of Bullying:

In the first half of Sunday's show, psychiatrist Dr. Peter Breggin joined George Noory to talk about the problem of bullying. He discussed a recent news report from Texas about a father who made his son carry an "I am a Bully" sign while standing on a street corner, after the boy was accused of bullying his schoolmates. Breggin suggested that the boy's father was a bully himself and was subjecting the boy to public humiliation to make him feel worthless, and this will probably lead to anger and rage for the boy. Bullies typically come from a position of feeling shamed, worthless, or powerless he said, and "the worst bullies...have been humiliated by their caregivers, usually the father or mother, and then almost trained to strike out at other people rather than the family."

Girls, especially in the middle school years, can be particularly abusive to other girls, with name-calling, spreading of horrible untrue stories, cyber-bullying, and making fun of appearances, he detailed. A lot of kids, scarred by bullying, end up turning to drugs as an escape, as well as suicide and suicidal thoughts. Adolescents are struggling with their identity, and to be subjected to bullying can be quite crushing, Breggin commented. Bullies needs to be stopped, and "they need to be shown, usually by adult authorities, that they can't get away with what they're doing," he continued. "I think that one of the biggest issues we have in our culture is that we don't protect young people from bullying, and in doing that we enable bullies."

More program recaps: Promise & Peril of AI:

Inspired by his interviews with inventor Ray Kurzweil, roboticist Rodney Brooks, and sci-fi legend Arthur C. Clarke, author James Barrat was impressed by their vision of intelligent machines. On Monday's show, he talked about how corporations and government agencies are pouring billions into developing artificial intelligence (AI), and pondered whether we can coexist with computers whose intelligence dwarfs our own. What AI has done is to put human cognition type abilities into machines, and with processors increasing in speed every year, they are growing smarter. We'll reach a milestone in the 2020s when computers are both self-aware and self-improving, and it's uncertain how that will play out, he remarked.

As we head into an artificial intelligence explosion, when "learning machines...can write their own software, and improve their own software through experience," they will eventually surpass human intelligence, he said. "Something that is marginally smarter than the average human will quickly become much, much smarter than the average human, and there's no real ceiling on that" –they could become thousands or millions of times smarter than us, he continued. This is of particular concern because it is unknown how these brilliant machines will perceive humanity-- we have the example of how humans treat animals less smarter than ourselves. "They're in cages, or zoos, or in Sea World, or they're endangered. We don't hold them in high regard...Something thousand of times smarter than we are, may not perceive that we're worth the resources we consume," he pointed out.

Barrat noted that many companies are developing AI in secrecy, to protect commercial prospects, as well as military advancements. Yet, as AI reaches human level intelligence, it's important for developers to get together, as the technology will become increasingly volatile. To avert some of the more perilous outcomes of AI, we need more scrutiny and transparency in its development, he advised.

NSA Revelations:

First hour guest, reporter David Seaman reacted to the latest revelations about the NSA, such as their covert $250-million-a-year program with tech companies to insert weaknesses into the security of their products, so they can more readily break encryption codes. It's pretty unbelievable that a tax payer funded agency is spending this kind of money to make products actually less safe for customers, he commented. Further, the NSA has been intrusively collecting large amounts of data on US citizens' social connections, who they are interacting with, both online and off, Seaman detailed. We're in a transitional time now, he noted, and a movement is gathering steam against what the NSA has been doing (a non-partisan rally Stop Watching Us is planned for October 26th in Washington DC).

Strange Disappearances:

Joining George Knapp in the first half of Sunday's show, researcher David Paulides shared updates on cases of people who inexplicably disappear from national parks and rural settings. He detailed two disappearances that occurred in similar locations in Roseboro, NC, some 24 years apart. The first case involved a two-year old boy playing with a dog who vanished in 1976. An exhaustive 2-week search with 1,200 people turned up nothing. In the second incident, a boy living with his aunt and uncle, also disappeared and was never found. Paulides outlined similarities in the cases-- both boys vanished while playing with dogs (in the latter case, the dog returned after five days, looking clean and well-fed), both boys came from broken homes, and there was never any evidence of kidnapping or abduction.

Paulides described a case of a missing girl from Bellmawr, NJ who vanished in 1957, also while playing with a dog, near a creek in her backyard. The area near her house was searched five or six times, including an unoccupied home for sale. Yet, when a mother and daughter were viewing the house for sale, the missing girl's dog jumped out of a closet, and the girl's dead body was also there. It was evident, he reported, that the girl and the dog had not been in the location earlier when it was searched. Paulides interviewed a retired special agent from the Park Service who investigated criminal activity in the parks. The Park Service seeks to downplay disappearances-- they don't want the bad publicity, or to have it known just how many people have gone missing, he told him.

If JFK Had Lived:

In the latter half, author Bryce Zabel talked about his meticulously researched new novel, Surrounded by Enemies: What If Kennedy Survived Dallas?, an alternative narrative of the turbulent 1960s after America's charismatic president escapes unscathed on November 22, 1963. He looked at how the assassination attempt would have shaken things up politically, with JFK and his brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy striking back at their enemies which included the CIA, J. Edgar Hoover, and even LBJ. Zabel's book also portrays scandals that erupted around JFK's private life as his womanizing and health conditions were revealed to the public.

Covers from a fictitious news magazine are featured in his book, with one of them showing JFK meeting the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. There is also a scene where the comedian Lenny Bruce does a monologue about Kennedy's infidelities. If JFK had lived, Zabel believes that the Viet Nam War would have played out much differently. Kennedy "would have been loathe to commit ground troops in any significant number to Viet Nam," he surmised. For more, check out a video from Zabel featuring a faux talk show commemorating the 50th anniversary of the day JFK survived Dallas.

Police Brutality & Abuses of Power:

Joining John B. Wells on Saturday night, former NSA officer and author William B. Scott discussed his book, The Permit, a work of fiction based on the real murder of his son Eric by police and its subsequent cover-up. Scott disclosed how Eric, a West Point graduate with an MBA from Duke University, was shot and killed 'High Noon' style outside of a Las Vegas Costco after he got into an argument with a store employee. In the first hour, investigative journalist Amber Lyon reported on how CNN takes money to run favorable stories about certain world governments and animal/human trafficking... cont.

3 Coast Insider Audio Alternative Media Special:

Filling in for George, John B. Wells hosted a discussion on alternative media with a panel of guests appearing throughout the night. In the first hour, journalist Abby Martin detailed the trouble she got in for asking Senator Rand Paul about his endorsement of Mitt Romney. After the confrontation with Paul the Capitol police called her employer and threatened to have her arrested for stalking and harassment, Martin revealed. She said the experience taught her how things really work in D.C., noting how the political establishment and corporate media apparatus have created an environment there in which only vetted pre-approved appearances are allowed. "[The media] might as well be state run," she chided. Martin also discussed her show on RT, Breaking the Set, describing it as an aggressive political program filled with bias and aimed at undermining the establishment, criticizing the corporatocracy and challenging the U.S. empire.

During the second hour, Shepard Ambellas of Intellihub.com accused the U.S. government of acting on behalf of large corporate interests that are ultimately controlled by a handful of wealthy individuals bent on ushering in a one world government. They are not interested in solving problems nor do they have the best interest of American citizens in mind, he warned. Comparing them to the mafia, Ambellas disclosed the plan of the elite to force smaller nations to submit to organizations like the United Nations. They desire to turn freethinking individuals into mindless worker drones living in cubicles, he continued, noting how chemicals are being used to dumb down the populace. Congress is paid off, nothing is getting better, life is becoming more complex and the tax burden on average citizens is growing heavy, Ambellas lamented. He encouraged listeners to stand up and take action, adding that "the average person could step into the presidency... and turn the whole country around within their first term."

In the final half, John welcomed Buzzsaw host Tyrel Ventura, along with fellow hosts Sean Stone and Tabitha Wallace, who joined the conversation in the third and fourth hours, respectively. Ventura talked about a lost episode of Conspiracy Theory on the future of the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) and some frightening taser wristbands they are ready to deploy. He also commented on why people are moving to alternative news sources to learn the truth about what's really going on and how the "U.S. is the biggest rogue state in the world ." Stone spoke about his fascination with esoteric topics such as time travel, skinwalkers and aliens, as well has his own paranormal encounter. He hinted that Hollywood might be filled with celebrities and pop stars under MK Ultra mind control. Wallace exposed an agenda within the mainstream media, pointing out that the entir e Osama bin Laden narrative is fiction made up to fuel a story line. "I really think that, historically, you can see that what we've been told actually happened... has systematically been proven to be totally untrue," she said. Today in Strangeness:

On this date in 1918, the course of history was nearly averted when British soldier Henry Tandey allegedly spared the life of an injured Adolf Hitler, while fighting during World War I. Tandey would tell his compatriots that he aimed at the future German dictator, but did not pull the trigger because he could not shoot a wounded man. While the veracity of the encounter remains debated to this day, Hitler, himself, claimed the tale was true during a meeting with British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in 1938.

Suppressed Stories:

In the first half of Tuesday's show, author and journalist Jim Marrs talked about suppressed stories and conspiracies. He detailed secretive arms deals that the US and other countries conduct. Acting as a front company, the CIA buys up weapons from legitimate arms manufacturers like Smith & Wesson, and then goes through the State Dept. to license different countries to use the weapons in their armies, he explained. But after that, what happens to the arms becomes murky. "There have been documented instances for example, in Mexico, where soldiers defect from the Mexican army and then hand over all these automatic weapons, stinger missiles, RPGs (rocket-propelled grenades), and all kinds of things to the drug lords," he revealed.

In June, Pres. Obama announced that the US was arming the Syrian rebels, but according to Marrs' sources, that has been going on covertly for at least a couple years. He also pointed out that a number of senators, in favor of air strikes (such as in Syria), receive large donations from the "military-industrial banking complex." Mars spoke about the JFK assassination, noting that both J. Edgar Hoover and LBJ were involved in suppression, alteration, and fabrication of evidence. He also reviewed Planet X or Nibiru theories, noting that there is possible evidence for an unknown planet in our solar system, based on odd orbits of remote asteroids.

Banking Cartels:

In the latter half, former commodities trader and self described "gorilla economist," " V," argued that a group of 15-17 ultra wealthy families (whose worth is in the trillions) seek to manipulate global events to increase their power, and that of the banking system. Humanity has been in a struggle against these international "banksters" for a long time, he said, and these banking cartels have separated themselves from the population at large. They use covert mechanisms such as the private control of currency and its issuance to maintain their power, he continued.

US citizens don't realize that "a group of bankers and industrialists have taken over America...and that the Fed has usurped the government. That is why to this date, there is no audit of the Federal Reserve," and the private banks within their system are still unknown, he remarked. Yet, while the banking cartels have accelerated their plan to erode the US Constitution, V suggested that they've underestimated the ingenuity of the average American, and the spread of free information via the Internet and certain media outlets. Within the next year, he foresees the cartels trying to use a "slow bleed" to bring the US economy to collapse with "stagflation" – high unemployment, rising prices, and zero growth. Money & Currency:

In the first half of Tuesday's show, contributing editor at Wired, David Wolman, discussed the history of cash money, the liabilities of it and why people are so attached to physical, paper currency. As an experiment, he tried living without cash for a year to see what problems and realizations would occur. Using cards and other forms for payment, "many weeks would go by actually when I wouldn't notice that I was cashless, then all of a sudden I'd run into a pickle," such as when he tried to convince the babysitter's father to open a Paypal account on the fly. So many people are frightened by the idea of a cashless or digital money future, yet "the reality is, like it or not, we are already in the soup with electronic money. In other words, most money today is already zeros and ones on distant servers," he said.

Rather than ponder whether we'll become a cashless society, the more interesting question is what is money in the first place, and what gives it its value, Wolman remarked. Money is held up by the faith and trust we have in the issuing institution. Yet, many people are hungry for a change, and seeking alternative forms of currency that can get them away from monetary ties to the government. The digital 'Bitcoin,' independent of a central authority has emerged, and local currencies have been tried out in such places as Berkshire, MA and Ithaca, NY. People don't necessarily want to buy "a coffee table from CrateandBarrel.com, made in India, using their VISA card. They want to buy a coffee table from a local furniture maker down the street. So why not use a local currency to do that?" he asked.

The Afterlife:

In the latter half, medium James Van Praagh spoke about the afterlife, as well as his forthcoming book on the grieving process that he co-authored with Doreen Virtue. Everyone grieves differently, just as their relationship to the deceased person was unique, he pointed out. It's important that people realize that dying is a part of life, a process in which everything is changing, he said, even though the soul never dies and continues on very much alive. The grieving can become aware that they're still connected to a deceased loved one on the soul level, "and if they open up their minds and listen to the little subtle whispers, they might hear their loved one or feel them close to them," he shared. Interestingly, Praagh said the deceased are sometimes in a position to help their living loved ones more from the Other Side than they were in life.

Several months back, he assisted his colleague Debbie Ford with a meditation process to help her come to terms with her passing. After her death, she communicated to him that she felt "part of the oneness of the wholeness." On the Other Side, we become part of everything, and we're all connected, he noted.
