He explained that the idea came about after his team converted genome data into digital form and then they pondered whether they could reverse the process and "recapitulate life from that point" using chemicals in a lab. In 2010, they successfully created a complete bacterial chromosome via this process, producing "the world's first synthetic cell." Although the procedure is still in the early stages of development, Venter marveled at the positive potential applications which could arise from this process in the future. That said, he lamented that the public is still grappling with the complexities of genomics and cited a recent survey which shockingly showed that about half the population "don't know that tomatoes have DNA in them." Here's what's coming up in the next week! Sunday, October 27th: In the first half, George Knapp will be joined by film director, Oliver Stone, and professor of history, Peter Kuznick, for a discussion on how far the United States has drifted from its democratic traditions and the powerful forces that have struggled to get it back on track. In the latter half, activist and author, Helen Caldicott, will talk about myths surrounding nuclear energy, the actual costs and environmental consequences of the controversial power source, and why the Fukushima disaster is only the beginning. Monday, October 28th: Author and secret space program researcher, Mike Bara, will discuss lunar anomalies as well as alien structures on Mars. He'll detail evidence that there was once a vast, technologically advanced civilization on Mars which may have vanished in a solar system wide cataclysm of their own making only to escape to Earth and start anew. Tuesday, October 29th: First Half: Author, paranormal investigator and world traveler, Hoss Lors will discuss his years living on a Navajo reservation and his witness to the amazing powers of the Skinwalkers, the Navajo name for a type of shape-shifter. Second Half: Author, Varla Ventura, will discuss her new book Banshees, Werewolves, Vampires and Other Creatures of the Night, as well as her work with turn-of-the-century ghostly tales, folklore, freaky facts, and the day jobs of early horror writers. Wednesday, October 30th: The worlds foremost collector, historian, and expert on Ouija and Talking Boards, Robert Murch, will be joined by collector and author, Brandon Hodge, to discuss the long, rich history of the Ouija Board as well as the bizarre world of tipping tables, séances, and the various techniques people have used over the ages to contact the dead and access the spirit world. Thursday, October 31st: George Noory hosts the traditional "Ghost to Ghost AM" Halloween show, where callers and guests share tales of ghostly encounters and contact with the afterworld. Strange Beings: In the first half of Monday's show, author and paranormal investigator, Brad Steiger, discussed his latest explorations of the unexplained, including phantoms, and aliens, as well as physical energies activated by the psyche, and visitations from other dimensional beings. He presented the hypothesis that what people call an angel, alien, demon, or spirit guide may be the product of a single multi-dimensional intelligence that assumes whatever physical form based on what may be acceptable to the percipient. In his latest book (co-written with Sherry Steiger), he simply refers to this being as "the Other." Steiger revealed that he'd had his own encounters with mysterious beings, including a kind of spirit guide he channeled information from for his book, Revelation: The Divine Fire. He spoke about new memes of sinister creatures that seem to be on the increase, such as Shadow People, the Black-Eyed Children, and 'Slender Man.' Archetypes of monsters keep shifting and perpetuating throughout time, going all the way back to the cave paintings, he commented. One interesting entity encounter he detailed was that of Z. Peterson (see drawings) who via mental contact, seemed to be pulled into an alternate reality where he met with a benevolent Reptilian/aquatic being. Dyatlov Pass Mystery: In the latter half, author and film director, Donnie Eichar, shared his research into the Dyatlov Pass Incident, a confounding and eerie mystery that happened to a group of Russian hikers who disappeared 50 years ago in the Ural Mountains. In January 1959, a team set off to try and find the hikers whom no one had heard from for two weeks. At their campsite, it was discovered that their tent was cut from the inside and the hikers' belongings were left undisturbed. Nine dead bodies, with violent injuries such as a fractured skull, and missing tongue, were found nearly a mile away. The hikers seemed to have fled the tent in the freezing winter temperatures insufficiently clothed, most of them without their shoes, but there were no animal tracks or bites at the site, he recounted. Eichar, who traveled to Russia to study the incident, conduct interviews, and retrace the hikers' journey, noted that many locals seemed to believe that the Soviet government may have had something to do with the hikers' fate-- that they had perhaps seen something of a military nature that the government didn't want them to see. However, the lead Soviet investigator, Lev Ivanov, who studied the case for months, declared that it was "an unknown compelling force," as his final conclusion. Eichar didn't want to disclose the exact conclusion he features in his book. He did suggest that what happened to the hikers could only be understood with the modern science of today, and that he consulted extensively with NOAA scientists regarding an explanation involving weather. on Oct. 21, 2013 Insider Audio Uri Geller's Secret Life: Joining George Knapp for the entire 4-hour show on Sunday night, Uri Geller, one of the world's most celebrated and investigated paranormalists, discussed how his proven powers led him to be given a succession of highly classified espionage roles, known only at the highest levels of the intelligence community. As early as five years old, he discovered he had the ability to bend spoons in his hand, and could perform telekinetic tricks like moving the clock ahead at school to get out early. Geller, an Israeli, said he first met a Mossad agent around the age of 12, and demonstrated his ESP and mind reading techniques, and began doing work for them, eventually going on to meet such people as Moshe Dayan and Golda Meir. In the early 1970s, the esteemed parapsychological researcher, medical inventor and author, Dr. Andrija Puharich conducted tests and experiments on Geller, who had been performing at nightclubs in Tel Aviv. Under hypnosis, Geller revealed information about extraterrestrial sources in nature, and there were strange, unexplained metallic-sounding voices on Puharich's tape recording of the session. Around this time, Geller also came to the Stanford Research Institute for secret CIA testing of his skills. As described in this film excerpt, scientists said that Geller was able to telepathically detect objects, change the weight of a piece of metal, and accurately sketch drawings that were hidden from his view. On one of his missions, Geller said he had a secret meeting with Ambassador Max Kampelman, and was tasked with telepathically bombarding the mind of a Russian negotiator in Geneva so that he would sign a nuclear arms reduction treaty. Geller also conducted two experiments on the air-- one involved fixing broken watches and time pieces, and afterward, a number of people emailed in to say that their old time pieces were suddenly working again. In his second experiment, he made a drawing, and sent out a mental image of it to listeners, inviting them to recreate it. People may email George Knapp a photo of their drawing, which will be compared to Geller's, and the results will be announced next Sunday. (I'm guessing it's a circle Coast Insider Audio Magic Spells & Saints: World-class spell collector, psychic practitioner, scholar, and teacher, Judika Illes, offers encyclopedic knowledge of the sacred, helpful mystics, saints, and sages from a large variety of religious traditions. On Thursday's show, she shared the various ways these beings and traditions can be used to help illness, unemployment and more. "The purpose of a magic spell is not to hurt other people, but to improve your life," she said. A spell is putting out energy, but one should not cast spells from a place of fear, she advised. If you are feeling fearful, she suggested praying or calling out to certain sages that will never harm you such as Michael the Archangel, and Kuan Yin, the Buddhist saint. Almost any ingredient or object can be used in a spell-- the most important aspect is having a strong, specific goal or desire, she remarked. "A magic spell is always done in the present tense, and you want to visualize your goal as already accomplished." So, if for instance, you are sick, you have to see yourself as already healed, she explained. "The more focused you can make it, the more concrete in your head," the more likely a spell will work, Illes continued. She spoke about hexes, which are a kind of spell, often done with objects that have negative associations such as cactus needles and dirt from cemeteries. Antidotes to hexes sometimes involve sending them back to wherever they came from, she stated. Illes talked about some lesser known saints, and popular folk saints such as Santa Muerte. This skeleton saint is considered to be an angel of death, "and like death, she welcomes everyone. People are often uncomfortable with saintly saints. Because if they have an occupation that is perceived as sinful...they feel they will be rejected. But everyone dies, the rich, the poor, the good, the bad, and so there are people who feel very comfortable invoking Santa Muerte for assistance. Among the things she does is protect people in dangerous professions, and dangerous neighborhoods," she detailed. Climate Update: First hour guest, retired professor of climatology Dr. Tim Ball discussed Arctic ice and climate projections. Climate scientists predicted that the summer Arctic ice would be gone by 2013 but that didn't happen, and additionally Antarctic sea ice has reached record high levels, he noted. The media exploits various weather and climate events, which people have come to associate with man-made global warming, but 99% of these incidents are from natural causes and cycles, Ball asserted. Economic Crash: In the first half of Tuesday's show, CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, radio host and author Peter Schiff commented on the current gyrations of the government, as well as the real financial position of the United States, and why he thinks we're headed for an implosion. Interestingly, he believes that raising the debt ceiling (currently stalled in Congress) is part of the problem rather than the solution. "Default is inevitable...anyway. But we're not going to default because we don't raise the debt ceiling. We're going to default because we do raise the debt ceiling," he remarked, explaining that eventually the US will have so much debt that creditors are going to cease lending the country money. Yet right now, the US doesn't have to default because it can keep borrowing money from the same people who owe it, he continued. Schiff suggested that the US go "cold turkey" on stimulus programs. "We've got to let interest rates go up, and then, we've got to slash trillions of dollars per year" in government spending including entitlements, national defense, as well as eliminate entire departments like Education and Energy, which could be managed by states, he said. While he predicted the 2008 crisis and housing bubble, he believes that an even bigger crash is coming due to the increased spending and debt. What we're facing is "an overdose on government stimulus, and death of the currency, which is going to be the death of the economy," he warned. The Supernatural: In the latter half, expert in supernatural science, Voodoo and conjuring, Tobias McGriff, spoke about his investigations and research. He is currently working on a documentary called Modern Hauntings which will feature startling video evidence. A woman in Cleveland shared footage with him recorded on a nanny cam that shows a translucent outline of a body interacting with her young baby. The outline is said to greatly resemble the woman's husband, a soldier who died while stationed in Afghanistan who never saw his new baby. The figure has the doting stance of a father, and the infant seems to be reacting to him, McGriff detailed. There seems to be a connection between the dream state and ghostly entities, as though we are our own portals, he said. People are more likely to be attacked by negative entities when they are at their most vulnerable such as being asleep, or going through a time of great tragedy, he reported. In one case, a man who was a non-believer went on a ghost investigation with him and had three of his front teeth knocked out in an attic, as though by an invisible punch. The man was alone in the attic at the time, McGriff recounted. Surprisingly, the most common signs of a haunting or something supernatural are not visual-- they are the sound of unexplained footsteps, and smells, such as the perfume of a deceased grandmother, he noted. For more, check out photos shared with McGriff from people who've attended his Blue Orb Ghost Tours of Savannah. Poster Comment: eventually the US will have so much debt that creditors are going to cease lending the country money Lenders are lending with the prospect US will buy their production. That's after lenders have bought what they need. If they stop lending they won't have a market for production and not be able to buy from US with production proceeds what they need. Since US has such an enormous production capacity as well as talent to produce wealth it just needs to print and lend money and leadership to provide organization and motivation (not be preoccupied with trying to defend the Israeli criminal state), Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top Page Up Full Thread Page Down Bottom/Latest

The "transmission" was a carton face, circle with two dots (eyes) and curved line for mouth. Anyone get the complete diagram?
