VDARE.COM - http://www.vdare.com/rubenstein/051202_nd.htm December 02, 2005 U.S. job market sprang back last month from a hurricane-induced slowdown as nonfarm employers added 215,000 workers, according to the government’s report on business payrolls. But another report—the one based on a survey of households—reported a 52,000 job decline from October. More important, from our perspective, is the composition of that decline: Thus non-Hispanics bore the full brunt of the November job decline, according to the Household survey. To be sure, the Household survey is dismissed by MSM pundits as quirky and unreliable. Yet over the past the past year it has closely tracked the more widely cited Payroll Survey: Both surveys report that about 2 million jobs were created over the past 12 months. But only the Household Survey presents monthly job data by race and ethnicity. Neither Survey asks about immigration status. (Memo to Bush Administration: why not direct them to add this useful question?). But because about half of the Hispanics in the U.S. are foreign-born, we use it as a proxy for immigrant impact on American workers. Note this statistical wrinkle: the overall Hispanic unemployment rate rose to 6.0 percent in November from 5.8 percent the prior month. The black unemployment rate increased even more—to 10.6 percent from October’s 9.1. The white unemployment rate fell slightly, to 4.3 percent from 4.4 percent. The big difference, of course, was that Hispanics poured into the labor force (their labor force participation rate went up) while Blacks and whites retreated (their’s went down.) After taking labor force participation rates into account, the real increase in the black unemployed is larger, and the increase in the Hispanic unemployed smaller, than their respective unemployment rates indicate. In a word, November’s data paint a classic picture of Hispanics (and, by extension, immigrants) displacing and discouraging blacks and unskilled whites in American labor force. It’s a story we often tell in graphic form, as follows: Since the start of the Bush Administration in January 2001 Hispanic employment has risen by 2.9 million, or 17.8 percent, while non-Hispanic employment increased by 1.9 million, or 1.6 percent. The ratio of the growth rates, which we call VDAWDI (the VDare.com American Worker Displacement Index) rose to a record 116.0 in November, from 115.0 the prior month. Edwin S. Add in the 100's of thousands of foreign "guest" workers taking high-tech positions at half the normal salary from the bottomless labor pools in India, China, etc., PLUS the offshoring & outsourcing, and it's no wonder so many American citizens are signing up with the Army/Marines/Navy/AirForce.

This is exactly why my pay(and others) at work was cut by over $6.00 an hour, plus my vacation benefits, health benefits, all cut! I'm madder than hell and I have called, emailed, and faxed our representives to let them know that Americans are fed up with this illegal immigration and the outsourcing of our jobs!

most Americans have their pay cut over time through inflation. It is unusual to cut it out-right like that. There are a series of policies the government has that create very negative trends that cause these things. It was known that this would happen when those policies were enacted. Our politicians don't care. They don't work for us. Every two years 99% of the congressmen who run for re-election do get re-elected. The Americans very very rarely assert themselves at the ballot box. It is completely normal for the politicians to do things not in our interest.
IMHO it doesn't matter if Americans assert themselves at the ballot box or not, the elite have made sure their candidates can't lose. They control the media, which spins it as close race with the incumbent barely winning when in reality the incumbent loses by 20 points or more.
God is always good! I've already called my state representitives and congressmen and let them know that I will only vote for candidates who want to keep jobs in AMERICA and those who want illegals deported and our borders closed. I do not like Bush's worker visa program, it's another term for "amnesty"!

let me educate you. It is worse than that. It is not amnesty. It is indentured servitude. Those people will become semi-slaves. better that they live in our country as free people than indentured servants. I'm not shilling for immigration. What I mean by indentured servant is that their existence in this country will depend on their job. If their employer fires them, then they must go home. and if they quit, then they must go home. The employer will recruit them while they live in their home nation, their employer will give them a visa and their employer will in essence own their labor. They will be semi-slaves. We used indentured servitude programs in this country in the 1600's. Lots of black people and white people both came here as indentured servants. They gave their labor for 7 years to who owned them and then afterwards were free. There were actually 2 generations of free black people in america prior to slavery. Those people who were free were then made slaves (if they were black). Our history books used to teach that indentured servitude was a form of slavery and the pre-cursor to the slavery institution. Now our congress is going back to it. that is how it is. This is not an amnesty, this is worse than an amnesty. This is a system for driving wages down systematically. this is a system for subverting the free market in labor. This is a system for disheartening and disrespecting the American people. this is a system for empowering employers.

I appreciate that you had an eye opening. Let me give you some more quick facts. The US government measured unemployment from 1870 to 1993 by actually measuring unemployment. they had bureaucrats who made a statistically representative sampling of the US population and studied that sample by interviewing them and looking closely. They knew what percentage of the group that wanted work did not have work because they took a sample of the population and measured it. In 1993 the US government announced that it was too expensive to interview 2300 americans each month to measure 'unemployment rate'. They began to measure the unemployment rate in 1993 not by measuring it, but by estimating it. Since then they have been making changes in the way they estimate it, and it is no longer anything near reality. If they measured unemployment today the way they did from 1870 to 1993, then it would measure 9-10% most likely. In 2000 almost 70% of US adults (21-65) had jobs. In 2000 64% (and dropping) have jobs. but unemployment is steady according to the government. Also, if a person measures what can be purchased in the economy for the wages paid in the economy, then the level of prosperity for the bulk of americans today is shoddy compared to 1970. The minimum wage of 1969 if it were adjusted for inflation would today be over $9/hour easily. Today's minimum wage is an early 1950's minimum wage when you adjust for inflation. And that's if you use the government's inflation rate. Many economists feel that does not measure the real inflation. Certainly today it is very true that the government is under-reporting significantly inflation. You ever wonder why so many foreigners own convenience stores and hotels? if you're an immigrant you get a long-term tax break US born citizens don't get. and that maes it easier to finance an immigrant buying such a business, so the financiers and owners that sell such businesses frequently prefer taking advantage of that tax benefit when the sale occurs. the buyers are recruited for that purpose. that's why. It just goes to show you, if you are pro-united states today, then you are anti- american. because the united states has engaged in so many anti-american policies & decisions.
I just found out today, the county I live in, has the highest unemployment rate in the state, yet NC has one of the highest numbers in illegal immigration rates to our state. I see construction crews everyday and there may be 20 illegals on the job and one Legal American! I bet some of the unemployed in my county would love to have those construction jobs back! After these Americans trained the illegals(because the boss told them to), they were then LAID OFF and the ILLEGALS replaced the Americans. Such BS! It's time for Americans to really show Congress and our president how pissed we are!
