I find it humorous that a man worth tens of millions of dollars complains about the inequality of wealth redistribution. Hey Matt, if you think wealth isn't distributed equally why don't you do your part and redistribute your bank account? Oh that's right, you're "different." You and your Hollywood buddies made your money honestly. No one else did.
I've read interviews of Mr. Damon before and he appears to still look at himself as a poor Southie from Boston. Therefore, he tries to come across as "one of us." He seems to not realize that he is no longer that person and is, in fact, "one of them." i.e., the same as those rich people he demonizes.
If he ever gets the socialist revolution he wants he will find out real quick that those he is trying to champion are going to turn on him and take what he has just like the other "evil" rich. He may see himself as the poor Southie from Boston but I can guarantee the real poor won't. They are going to Robespierre his ass.

That was the best part of a great movie. I don't believe that takes away from anything I said though.
I just (hope) don't think that because someone crawls out of the swamp (southie) they necessarily lose their roots or voice. I am just not comfortable attacking him as a limousine liberal because he has achieved fame and fortune. I personally don't like MA. and have had very bad experiences in Southie with the law and the natives.
You don't find it ridiculous that a man worth tens of millions of dollars complains about wealth inequality? I find it as ridiculous as a black billionaire (Oprah) talking about white oppression and racism in a country where white people elected a black president AND made her a billionaire.
No man should be punished for success but that is what he is advocating. What do you think wealth redistribution is but using the threat of government violence to punish the successful by stealing their wealth at the point of a gun in order to reward the unsuccessful. That is what he is advocating.

I think he recognizes we have the opposite situation. That through complacency (civil obedience) our neo-feudal system of tax farmers extracts an ever greater share for the .01%. Your animus toward Damon for pointing out the obvious I reserve for the likes of Dimon and Blankfien etc. for their crimes of unimaginable proportion.
