Matt Damon reading Howard Zinn. You know we are close to revolution when people on the Right listen to people on the Left because they make sense.

Just excellent!

The problem is obedience.

I read an all but lost expose about World War One, aka, "THE GREAT WAR" that exposed steel and wire manufacturers as the leading culprits whose goons caved in skulls at anti war rallies.

The end of opposition to the US entry into the war was not spontaneous or naturally occurring. It was the result of soldiers, sailors and trade union thugs who were used to suppress any gatherings with force. Imagine attending a rally or speech at a church and being set upon by club wielding "patriots"!

It was also combined with a propaganda campaign, and just as it was when Bush said that we're "either with (him and his Carlyle group buddies) or with the terrorists" there was only one side to the debate in 1915.

And, powerful forces (wink wink) guaranteed the US entry in exchange for The UK's support for The Balfour Declaration.

"Privileged information is the ambrosia of elitists. It gives them a sense of power, and the human ego loves to feed from the trough of power."

I find it humorous that a man worth tens of millions of dollars complains about the inequality of wealth redistribution. Hey Matt, if you think wealth isn't distributed equally why don't you do your part and redistribute your bank account? Oh that's right, you're "different." You and your Hollywood buddies made your money honestly. No one else did.

I've read interviews of Mr. Damon before and he appears to still look at himself as a poor Southie from Boston. Therefore, he tries to come across as "one of us." He seems to not realize that he is no longer that person and is, in fact, "one of them." i.e., the same as those rich people he demonizes.

If he ever gets the socialist revolution he wants he will find out real quick that those he is trying to champion are going to turn on him and take what he has just like the other "evil" rich. He may see himself as the poor Southie from Boston but I can guarantee the real poor won't. They are going to Robespierre his ass.

I WITHDRAW MY CONSENT!
Any perceived compliance with unconstitutional “laws” or orders put forth by government employees is NOT recognition of their authority; it is simply the result of carefully calculated submission to an entity exhibiting superior firepower.

That was the best part of a great movie. I don't believe that takes away from anything I said though.

I just (hope) don't think that because someone crawls out of the swamp (southie) they necessarily lose their roots or voice. I am just not comfortable attacking him as a limousine liberal because he has achieved fame and fortune. I personally don't like MA. and have had very bad experiences in Southie with the law and the natives.

You don't find it ridiculous that a man worth tens of millions of dollars complains about wealth inequality? I find it as ridiculous as a black billionaire (Oprah) talking about white oppression and racism in a country where white people elected a black president AND made her a billionaire.

No, I celebrate it in this case, I have too or the fairytale is a lie.

Should all men be punished for success?

No man should be punished for success but that is what he is advocating. What do you think wealth redistribution is but using the threat of government violence to punish the successful by stealing their wealth at the point of a gun in order to reward the unsuccessful. That is what he is advocating.

I think he recognizes we have the opposite situation. That through complacency (civil obedience) our neo-feudal system of tax farmers extracts an ever greater share for the .01%. Your animus toward Damon for pointing out the obvious I reserve for the likes of Dimon and Blankfien etc. for their crimes of unimaginable proportion.

If you think the welfare whores and societal losers among us who believe everyone owes them something will separate the "good rich" (Damon) from the "bad rich" (Dimon and Blankfien) you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

The answer to our problems doesn't lie in communistic wealth redistribution schemes. Rather it lies with removing the tax laws and regulations that stifles competition and gives corporations an unfair advantage over small businesses. It lies with taking power out of the bankers hands by eliminating the Federal Reserve. There are things we can do that do not consist of using the power of government to steal money from one group of people to give to another group of people because if it ever happens it's not going to be just the "bad guys" who have their money stolen.
