The Next Commie Movement - 'Wage Justice'

By Absolute Rights Contributor on December 2, 2013

By Kelly Irons

How do you know when a movement reeks of communism? Easy - it is supported by a major American union.

The Service Employees International Union, filled with some of the most vile, Left-wing thugs around, is one of the major players behind a ridiculous push to kill the only employment millions of Americans can find while raising the price of cheeseburgers to ten bucks.

On Thursday, according to reports, the SEIU and other groups will sponsor or support hundreds of protests in cities around the country aimed at forcing the fast-food industry to increase workers' wages to $15. The New York Times reports:

Seeking to increase pressure on McDonald’s, Wendy’s and other fast-food restaurants, organizers of a movement demanding a $15-an-hour wage for fast-food workers say they will sponsor one-day strikes in 100 cities on Thursday and protest activities in 100 additional cities.

The protests have expanded greatly since November 2012, when 200 fast-food workers engaged in a one-day strike at more than 20 restaurants in New York City, the first such walkout in the history of the nation’s fast-food industry.

“There’s been pretty huge growth in one year,” said Kendall Fells, one of the movement’s main organizers. “People understand that a one-day strike is not going to get them there. They understand that this needs to continue to grow.”

The movement, which includes the groups Fast Food Forward and Fight for 15, is part of a growing union-backed effort by low-paid workers — including many Walmart workers and workers for federal contractors — that seeks to focus attention on what the groups say are inadequate wages.

The fast-food effort is backed by the Service Employees International Union and is also demanding that restaurants allow workers to unionize without the threat of retaliation.

As part of its stealth campaign to support this latest push for "wage justice," the Times picked, right on cue, a 23-year-old interviewee with a Hispanic-sounding name to illustrate the travesty of it all:

Simon Rojas, who earns $8.07 an hour working at a McDonald’s in South Central Los Angeles, said he would join Thursday’s one-day strike.

“It’s very difficult to live off $8.07 an hour,” said Mr. Rojas, 23, noting that he is often assigned just 20 or 25 hours of work a week. “I have to live with my parents. I would like to be able to afford a car and an apartment.”

Mr. Rojas said he had studied for a pharmacy technician’s certificate, but he had been unable to save the $100 needed to apply for a license.

Boo-hoo, Mr. Rojas. If you're only working 20 hours a week, that leaves plenty of time to find a second job. But apparently he'd rather spend a day protesting the only employer he has, which is probably the dumbest thing he could do.

But such idiocy is, of course, playing right into the hands of the union masterminds. They don't give two shits about little people like Simon Rojas; all they want is to increase their power and numbers, which have (thankfully) been declining for years.

Still, this is a teaching moment for the revolutionary wannabes and Occupy types who believe the tripe that "wage justice" and "social justice" comes without them paying the price.

First, businesses exist to make a profit, and that's a good thing because profits are used to - anyone? - pay workers. No profits, no business. No business, no jobs. No workers.

Secondly, owners who have put their heart and soul (and life savings) into their businesses will do whatever is necessary, within the law, to make a profit. For the fast food industry, should they somehow, someday, be forced to pay skilled-worker wages for unskilled labor, that would include heavy reliance on automation. Hey Occupiers - automation means fewer workers, fewer jobs.

Thirdly, another result of being forced to pay unreasonably high wages for low-skilled work will mean inevitable price increases. Like your "dollar" meals? Well, those won't exist any longer. In fact, in some places, you might be lucky to get a fast-food meal for under the one-hour wage of $15. Want to pay that, Occupiers?

Starting to get the picture? The SEIU does not have your best interests in mind. The SEIU has the SEIU's interests in mind. They want your union dues and then they want you to shut the hell up.

This notion that a business must be forced to pay a certain amount for its help is absurd on its face. Minimum wage laws are, by their very nature, punitive and ineffective. In a free market society, a business owner ought to be allowed to pay whatever he wants to pay, even bucking current wage trends, because it's his business. The fact is, if some owner is going to offer ridiculously low wages for a certain job, he'll play hell getting anyone to work for him.

"Wage justice" is just the latest commie attempt to undermine the American free-market, capitalist system. Only skulls full of liberal mush can't understand how truly destructive to employment this movement really is. If there is anyone who is responsible for the low-wage, stagnant-wage, no-growth economy of the U.S., you can blame the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. It's been Obama's economy for the past five years.

Want to get ahead? Here's a tip: Stop bitching and quit protesting the only companies stupid enough to hire you.

One has to be careful when wielding a two edged sword..

Simple question....

If all mandated minimum wages were eliminated, would employers pay more, remain the same, or pay less???

Addendum to your question: are illegal mexicons allowed to participate?? That will really affect the answer to your question.

The government can tell McDonald's not to hire Kelly on the basis of race, and Kelly is worried about the fucking dollar menu? Kelly wants McDonald's 365black to be good business sense?

Where do they find these losers?

Good question...

The Mexicans are serving a dual purpose.

First they suppress wages just by sheer numbers and then they will provide cannon fodder for WWIII.

In WWII the government dragged 16 million men away, the majority to use as cannon fodder.

As soon as the draft started, WAGES WENT UP, the masses could eat regularly and the industrial people made billions.

China and Southeast Asia have over two billion people. We will need bodies.

Please, the U.S. does NOT have a free market, capitalist system anyway! The author is a shill for the inventors of copper wire.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to their need"

The principle of course never works, which explains why Jewish organizations and Jewish charities are always starving for money.

Olde olde draft law in this country.....

Any and all illegal aliens may be drafted in time of war.

Millions are here, regardless of legality, when the war starts, there will be a human tidal wave of Mexicans heading for south of the border, down Mexico way.

We will se how "American" they are.
