Gun makers say adios to states messing with gun ownership.

Following the horrible tragedies at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and elsewhere, a number of grandstanding politicians saw their chance to exploit the situation by trying to get tougher gun control laws passed in their states.

As we’ve discussed before, none of these politicians seems to grasp the obvious. In almost every case of a madman shooting up a school, theater or mall, a good guy with a gun could have stopped the bad guy with a gun and limited the loss of life. But they don’t see it that way. They seem bent on keeping us all helpless when a shooter starts his carnage.

Fortunately, gun manufacturers are starting to hit the states that are making it tougher to own a gun right where it hurts – jobs and revenue. These companies are not only threatening to leave the states that are passing legislation to limit the types of guns that people can own and making it more difficult to own a gun with extended background checks. They’re actually following through and doing it.

Bristol, Connecticut-based PTR Industries announced via Facebook that it would take its 40 jobs and $50,000 weekly payroll to an unspecified state, referring to Connecticut in its departure note as “the former Constitution State.”

Magpul Industries of Colorado, with its 200 employees and $85 million in annual taxable revenues, had stated on its Facebook page that it would have “no choice” but to leave the state if the “magazine bill” was signed, which it was in March by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. Since then, Magpul has started producing weapons accessories in a different state.

Other gun makers in these and other states have also threatened to relocate to states that are more “gun friendly.” One of them is Beretta USA of Maryland, which is saying that its state government “has chosen to cripple its citizens’ Second Amendment rights.” Another is Colt’s Manufacturing of Connecticut.

Check out this Fox News article titled “Gun Makers Aim for Greener Pastures as States Pass New Firearms Laws.” These relocations will cost states thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenues, so I hope the politicians are ready for the fallout that their ill-advised decisions are creating. Meet you on the other side.

If you owned a gun manufacturing company whose business would be negatively affected by new and stricter gun control laws, would you stay put and fight it out or would you move to another state where you were free to produce and sell your products without government interference? I’d love to hear from you about this.

We are the LAST country on the planet with essentially unlimited-unregistered personal ownership. We will be next unless we stand up to the globalists and socialists.
