One non mentioned fact that I found interesting is that in the GQ article itself; in the 1st paragraph the author uses God's name in vein & also says "holy shit." This culture is so degraded that isn't even noticed by anyone, despite also being forbidden by the Ten Commandments

It was two months back - even when Bradshaw was kicking the Cowboys' asses, I liked the guy...he's real, just like Robertson's real.

Great post, scrapper. I think I have probably seen a couple of episodes of Duck Dynasty so I can't comment too much on it (I thought it was pretty entertaining but there are usually other things on that I want to watch more). Still, Phil Robertson should not have been axed over his statement(s) because A&E knew even before the show what they were getting--Christians who were not ashamed of what they believed and ready to share what they believed. And the comments he made that they suspended him for were not made on their show or on their time. And there is also the point that (some) of the folks engaged in that "alternate lifestyle" are quick to get in people's faces about it and none of them are ever censored or told to tone it down any. Double standards as far as the eye can see.

I would imagine that Terry Bradshaw would likely make the same comments to Leno today as he did in October because the interview was about him and Phil Robertson getting honored by Louisiana Tech for their contributions to the college's football team. Bradshaw was the BU QB and Robertson was the first string QB when they played together. All Bradshaw talked about was that subject and that period of time. You should watch the video clip - it's quite entertaining.

Yeah I did watch it. I had expected it to be about the homo controversy & wondered what bradshaw would say about that. I have seen a few episodes of duck dynasty & thought it was a funny show.

More recently, when TMZ asked Bradshaw about Phil Robertson's GQ remarks specifically, Bradshaw had this to say - Bradshaw, like Robertson, is ENTITLED to his opinion - this is America, not communist China. Bradshaw, a fellow devout Christian, tells us ... "I respect Phil's voice but I don't agree with it." Terry explained, "Phil is a very religious man, and he's taking the scriptures literally ... but the bible also preaches love."

February 2010 shows Robertson addressing a supper at Berean Bible Church in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and condemning homosexuals in the 45-minute talk that touched on the U.S. Constitution and secularization of American society. "They (homosexuals) committed indecent acts with one another," said Robertson, clad in his usual camouflage, in the video posted on the church's YouTube page, which has drawn fresh attention in the wake of Robertson's suspension from one of the most-watched shows on cable television. "And they received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion," he added. "They're full of murder, envy, strife, hatred. They are insolent, arrogant God haters. They are heartless. They are faithless. They are senseless. They are ruthless. They invent ways of doing evil." And Phil never said otherwise. A&E released a statement on Robertson's behalf Wednesday, and while he didn't back down from his stance, he said his comments were meant* to disrespect anyone. "I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior," the statement reads. "My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. What you is quite true. Terry Bradshaw seems to have believed the B.S. spin by mainstream media - i.e. that Robertson's remarks were "hateful." Robertson's initial remarks and his followup commentary were neither hateful nor loving. They were one man's OPINIONS, a free expression of his personal beliefs, which are a guaranteed constitutional right in America. I also support Bradshaw's right to express his opinion, though I disagree with Bradshaw and suspect Bradshaw's comments are a result of misinformation.

Maybe heterosexuals should put video recorders under the tables of lesbian and homosexual private group dinners to hear what they say about "breeders" and post those remarks on You Tube. Duck (and goose) is a dark meat, even the breast. There are many mouth-watering ways to prepare it. If the bird has been harvested from the wild, as opposed to purchasing from a butcher or grocery store, one must be sure to thoroughly clean any meat damaged from being shot. Biting into a BB can ruin a dining experience as well as chip a tooth. I've never watched the program in question, but duck hunting has been one of my favorite activities since I was a kid. I was even a junior member (Green Wing) of Ducks Unlimited. I never ate a duck. Do they taste any good?

I doubt it. Duck Dynasty is one of the most popular cable shows as it is. A&E didn't need to generate greater interest for the show thru a "publicity stunt."
