An exercise in futility.

The Army is exempt (actually immune) from such legal actions just as the govt's breeder reactors (Savannah River) and research labs (Sandia) are free from EPA oversight. The govt may sacrifice their employees by storing nuke waste in the workers' lockers if they choose. The stink over the naming of a nuclear sub CORPUS CHRISTI would have resulted in a mandatory name change if the courts had the power to compel it. The navy ignored the connection between a city in Texas and The Nazarene and the public could pork themselves if they didn't like it.

The "City of" prefix was added prior to the 1983 commissioning to clarify that the ship is meant to honor the city, (and the city is honoring Jesus) in response to Catholic politicians (the operative word is "politicians", not "Catholic" which alone carries no more weight than the word "Mexican") who protested naming a warship using Latin words which translate to "body of Christ."[2]__wiki

Someday it will be clear why the army (and John Hagee) tiptoe around certain offensive references. Hagee was careful to keep his prayers and sermon free of any conflict when he hosted the Conference of (ass licking pseudo) Xtians and his Ashkenazi guests in the ostentatious "church" presumably built to worship the man with no name. But the real worship was Hagee accommodating those who consider the virgin birth a fairy tale for "the others" and the phony crucified Messiah a shlimazel! No self respecting G_D of Israel would allow Jehovah Jr. to be crucified. (or to do manual labor for that matter)
