More likely, he was born in September.

About 20 or so years ago I had it all laid out on paper. The date fell somewhere between (on our calendar) late September to October 3rd.

It had to do with Mary's conception in relation to the birth of John the Baptist and John's father (a Levite) schedule for serving in the temple.

Others have suggested early April for similar reasons as that would equate to the alternate period when John's father would have had temple duties.
