"It has been a sobering week. At the time we were initially caught by the sea ice, the Shokalskiy was just 2 to 4 nautical miles from open water. Now the sea ice distance has become even greater with the continued winds from the east, putting our nearest point of exit at some 16 nautical miles.”

Later on, rather than blaming shoddy planning, Turney blames iceberg calving from the continent colliding with the extended tongue of the Mertz Glacier for changing the sea ice conditions in the region.

He writes: “This has been revealed by new satellite imagery which arrived today from the AAD/ACE CRC Sea Ice Group in Hobart, Tasmania.” It’s as if this was the first satellite image of ice they had looked at. It’s a mystery how there was no one was on board to monitor sea ice activity and that no one saw it coming. Turney told FoxNews.com:

"We were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.” - Prof. Chris Turney, a publicity-hungry professor of climate change at Australia’s University of New South Wales.

Going deer hunting in Chinkernese boots sold at Walmart (what does a chinaman know about hunting boots?) and using sub-standard hunting gear will make for a miserable deer hunt: the Antarctic party-barge is just that times eleventy- billion. Wait until they get handed a $$$$$$$$$ bill from the various government agencies who have to rescue their naïve butts, they'll be butt-hurt for sure......

They could have stayed on any pond in Fannin county and been just as completely iced-in recently.

Morons.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken
