A man who tried to rob a laundromat was chased off by the armed 90-year-old store owner.

On Monday, a man came into R&J Laundromat in Dayton, Ohio, and demanded money from the owner, George Hicks. Hicks grabbed his gun, chased off the robber, and called 911.

Here is part of that 911 call:

911 Dispatcher: “Did he take any money?” Victim: “No. No. When he shoved me, I jumped up and went for my gun and when I went for my gun I said I’ll blow your (expletive) brains out and he was gone.”

Hicks said wasn’t the first time he’s been targeted. In 2010, he was beaten up and robbed inside his laundromat. -

Good for him. Obummer is nuts to want to take guns from folks. That would allow the crooks to run wild. ;)

I'd gladly wave a weapon and have the punk run instead of dealing with:

1. The body

2. The cops

3. The D.A.

4. The grand jury

4. All the various press people

Who needs all that garbage?

Massad Ayoob agrees with you. In his book IN GRAVEST EXTREME he says to call your wife and say, "I shot a mugger and the number for my lawyer is in the safe and I know you'll take care of me, Honey," then shut the Hell up and don't talk to the cops.

Even a clean cut case of self defense can turn into "two gunmen shot it out tonight" if the present prevailing agenda doesn't favor you or the circs. (One cannot be morally superior if both are armed in NY and NJ for instance.)

Anti gun cops don't approve of citizens who are only defending their lives. (it's acceptable if you're defending the bank's or the liquor store's money, however. Even armored car guards are supposed to fall on the money if they're shot.)

After all, the permanent underclass will always be with us and that's why we have so many cops. The cops would prefer to draw chalk lines around our bodies than to admit that firearms aren't just tools for cops and criminals.

And the surviving spouse and family of a robber aren't crooks, right? A smart lawyer will portray them as victims of a trigger happy NRA member with custom gun grips and his well tuned, fully accurized firearm, and a sympathetic jury will make them the partner of the gun wielding "not really a racist" who was just itching to shoot some poor bastard.

If the cops and media can arrange it you could lose simply for being part of the gun culture.

Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. If you go armed you may wish to rethink that "CAST YOUR FATE TO THE WIND" mindset or, how you act after a shooting.

I had a cousin (who is now dead) who drove a cigarette vending route in Chicago. One day he was going down a street on the near South Side, and three black guys stepped out in front ofHe floored it. They put four slugs on the rear driver's side of the truck. The boss was mad because the stock got tore up. He said, "Screw that! The stock saved my life." He used to carry a .32-20, a bottle neck cartridge that was a .38 that narrowed down to a .32. One day a black kid tried to steal some stuff off the back of his truck and he was shooting at him. Don't know if he hit him, though.

I used to deliver cosmetics for a woman in Chicago. She had this purple fluid that would take the kinks out of the black's hair. I would deliver it by the gallon to the beauty shops on the South Side. She told me, "Don't take any checks from those people." By the time I was done, I had between $500 and $800 in cash on me, and I ALWAYS carried a pistol. No one ever tried anything, though. Lucky for me, I guess. ;)
